I have to admit the "ooh I gained my memories back only for a sec!" thing made me ugh. Felt cheesy to me.
Scene cuts to Varric and Cassandra:
Varric: What?
Cassandra: Really?
Varric: What? Can't a man take a little artistic license?
Cassandra: It sounds like a poorly wrought cliche.
Varric: Madame, your words cut me to my core! I am simply relaying the Champion's story as it actually happened. Just as you asked.
Cassandra: (rolls eyes) Of course you are.
Oh thank you. This has made my day.

Well, we first have to remember Fenris isn't exactly normal in the emotion department. He has been a slave for nearly all his life. With sides of torment and life endangerment, he cannot cope with the unfamiliar well. So, all this memory flooding freaks him out and partially puts the blame on the relationship. He honestly is afraid. He wants Hawke and yet he is skittish of their first real encounter. Feelings confusing the **** out of him. I cannot find blame in him. He hardly understands how to interact with people let alone with a lover.
3 years seems like a long time. But, plot before minor character development. I am sure Hawke tried to bring it up times before, with Fenris not wanting to discuss it further. If Hawke truly loved Fenris, he/she would have dropped it. Would you nag your dear one to death?
I understand this. I'm not finding fault with his actions. But with Hawke's in particular with
my Hawkes. My Hawke's wouldn't have sat on their hands for three years no matter how ugly or nasty it got. They would've wanted to know one way or the other.
Uh...if Hawke truly loved Fenris he/she could've still wanted an answer. Loving someone doesn't mean cowtoing to them or never questioning them.
As for "nagging" wanting to know where one stands is nagging?
Granted most of this is in fact personal preference, and alternate roleplaying so arguing it will get us nowhere but what the hell I'm bored.
