He gets mad in letters because, again it's another choice given to him that's out of his hands. And if you continue to the end, he will thank Hawke for saving his life and say he's proud of him/her. I think it's really worth it but I might be bias because I adore Carver and his little brother-ness.

He became a templar my first playthrough. Bethany became a GW my second. This time he dies. It makes it easir that he's being priggish.

I was gladly serving Carver to the Ogre when I went with Rogue/Warrior. He was such an ass to me for no reason. Since Fenris is my forever 2 hander, is there even a reason to spare Carver?

Eh, I don't need to get Fenris captured if there isn't d'aw moment. Carver, you live only because I do not want to wait till the end of the game for a cute moment.

To appreciate Carver, I had to run around with him, Varric and Fenris.  Oh man, the guys are so hard on him that I started to feel sorry for him.  And nearly ruptured a vital organ laughing.

By the by... be careful using those Maker's Sigh respec potions.  Equipment disappears if you don't strip the character first.  Like, disappears, not just goes back into inventory.  I'm having to redo my whole evening's play because I wanted to shift some of Fenris' points into Willpower, and somewhere along the line realized he wasn't carrying Binky's Comfort anymore.  Say it ain't so!!

So. Apparently everyone has scripted responses during The Long Road. I usually do it with Isabela because it's just too good. But finding out everyone has their own unique interjections on Aveline's situation, I just had to hear what Fenris had to say (so I did it with only him in the party). Best line:

"She's courting the man. With a fear reserved for dragons."

@SurrealSadi, I've had it with my PC and Isabela also, but I caught the one with my PC right away. With Isabela I had to go find her some new daggers but I don't use her much so I didn't care.

I think it's related that bug that causes Sebastian's and Isabela's friendship bonuses to screw you over. I don't really know the specifics.

I had him with me all of act 1 and there weren't many banters at all. Fenris gave him crap for complaining too much (yay Fen!!) about his life, Varric had a funny one, then...nothing. Sigh, this is my ranom banter luck.

I am a bit disturbed by the fact that even after 6 years Fenris still hasn't cleaned up the corpses lying around in the manor.

Yeah that happened to me when I used it on Aveline. I was trying to boost her strength for a sword but left her constitution too low for her shield.....three times.

His line when Donnic isn't getting the picture is quite funny too, but I won't spoil it.

Seb doesn't have any dialogue so you can bring him for an additional body during the coast part, but don't bring anyone else with him otherwise they split the dialogue.

"Lady man hands" is the best, though. And nobody else has that little argument scene but Isabela.

Wow, this topic moves fast.  I go to a cat show, take a nap, work on some Sims things, and almost 10 new pages to read here!  Not that I don't love love love all the Fenris chat...

Speaking of Sims stuff, I attempted to make a Sim!Fenris in Body Shop:








I'm rather happy with how he turned out, given the limitations of the game.  Of course he doesn't have the lyrium tattoos and I don't have the skill to make them, nor do I have the amazing armor, but I think the facial sculpt is pretty close.  Especially the nose, the nose is a hugely important part of Fenris.

So I'm totally romancing Fenris for the first time as a mage and I cannot suppress the fangirl rival-mancing him. So passionate.

I just started Act 3 and his line about "remembering your touch like it was yesterday..." *sigh*

He's awesome! I was also pleasantly surprised when I click on him I get a "I'm yours".

Lady Jess: Hee, first playthrough, rival romance with a mage, I had exactly the same reaction. That 'never should have happened line' coupled with the prior quest conclusion one of magic spoiling everything it touches (paraphrasing here because I don't recall the actual one) and my poor Hawke was pretty darn heartbroken for a good while after. It can seriously mess with you if playing it unspoiled and for the first time .

I'm just dropping in to say that I'm on my third playthrough and Fenris' romance is seriously the most difficult so far. Not because of the emotional turmoil, no! But because I have to resist every other character's blandishments after he walks out on me. Anders' constant flirting! Merrill's huge adorable eyes! Varric's open shirt! I have to remain chaste and true to Fenris for the next three years, and I'm not sure I can make it!
How did you people do it?
