I've made all diplomatic replies mostly except for a couple where snark  was deserved. Speaking of, I love how Varric explains the dilog wheel for us when we meet Sebastian

"hawke said sarcastically..."
"hawke said diplomatically"
"hawke said aggressively"

Yes I love that exchange.  Varric

But I wanted to say, sometimes I think the more aggressive replies with Fenris are warranted.  He really does need a kick in the tight pants at times.  So I honestly rivalmanced him this time.

I tried the wall pushy thing.  Such an excellent turn of events.  :o  However, I still think I prefer to let him go and have him come back.

It was brutal. He says that thing after Hadriana my Hawke stood there all O.o ran back home to throw things and found him in her entrance way, got shoved against the wall realized all their bickering (rp..obviously not much option in the actual game, dammit that sucks) didn't matter she was in loveeeeeeeee and poof he walks out saying that...that was as bad as the Alistair break up!!!

and Man you realize we had to go RIGHT PAST my Mother, bodahn, sandal and that elf girl??? They know he walked out on me...Hawke may never leave her room again.

I pictured it as: Leandra open the door, Fenris comes and asked for Hawke. Leandra asked him to come in, let him know Hawke's not there but he's welcome to wait. Fenris chose to wait by the entry way. Leandra then tastefully say something like "ah, I've been meaning to go check out some new robes, Bodahn and Sandal, care to join me?" and proceed to take everyone with her as I come in.

I rather think of it that way to make it less awkward for me.

and man...don't get me started with Alistair. Can't believe he ditched me because I wasn't a Cousland...so for that I made sure Anora did not become his wife. I wasn't gonna be his mistress, no way. I got mad, start new playthrough, changed difficulty and become a Cousland. rush through just so that I have an ending with me marrying Alistair. UGH.

My favorite ending ended up being Single Alistair ruling with my Amell as his chancellor, that way the relationship stays in tact, and there's no wife to contend with. I do have a cousland married to him, two Zev endings and a drunk, but only Amell finished awakening and WH. I also have a Cousland thats marrying him to Anora and told her she wasn't going anywhere...lol

I suppose Mom could have been that tactful. I figure she heard the *THUD...THUNK* and said something like "oh hey lets go to the library, I'll read us all a nice...long story"

Hello all! I'm not sure if I'm having a problem or not, so I thought I would bring it to the Fenris pros. We just killed Dantius(sp?) but I'm not getting anything about visiting Fenris at his mansion. I know there's a prompt to visit him, but it is not coming up. Any ideas?

I am in act two with her now, and we're entering her sarcastic phase I think. Though I might go back and be more aggressive in that scene. But theres just so few chances to actuqally talk to him ya know?

Try going to the mansion at both night and day, or try going to the Hawke estate(night and day).
And it's "Danarius".  Image IPB

Just dropping off a prompt response.
It's a touch long, and PG13, so head's up.

I posted it on DA, so here's a link.

Dantius...hehe...wonder where I got that one. Image IPB

Thanks for that. Isn't there a companion question attached to it? I hate how that's the only time we really get a decent convo out of him.

I killed Danarius and I was supposed to get to talk to him about it but he never said anything - I think the friendship/rivalry level is too low.

What happens if you choose the aggressive response when you wake up, then "but you started this!"

I don't want to accidently end the relationship completely..but I think she deserves to say HEY jackass!

I'll remember to bold and underline the word jealous the next time i use it. i'm hating because i'm jealous her in the "multiple times with Fen" part

I just figured that they do it behind the scenes after they make up. Frequently. ;)

And that reminds me... I miss the "care to join me in my tent?" option from DA:O. Zevran's responses to that were amazing. (Pirate Zevran, and the "Again?! What will the others think?). I wonder what Fenris would say...

Right? Care to join me in my tent would have been spactacular in this game, especially given Fenris' slow road to being comfortable banging his lady love. Watching Alistair get to that point was amazing. I missed that so much in this one.

Nothing happens. He just says "I can't" then leaves with out explaining more about his memories:crying: You do get +5 rivalry.

Nothing really different. Hawke says "But you're the one who came to me, remember?" And then Fenris gives his "I feel like such a fool" line. And leaves. Image IPB

No, I've been thinking that too, wicked bad, but just didn't say anything. Let's be honest, he was a slave. That is pretty common in all forms of slavery. And Danarius' body language when he is allowed to take Fenris just seals it further for me. God, I wish I could unsee that clip... :'(

Bwahaha, I'm so weak. Got to the scene where Anders visits you at your
estate, and I ended up sabotaging the romance.. He asked my lady Hawke
if she was sure if she wanted him to be there, then said 'I thought you
and Fenris... Or did the beast finally turn on you?' - Now, my plan had
been to rival-mance Fneris up until the point where he dumps you, then
get with Anders, and I had done just that so far... But as soon as he
said that I raged at the word 'beast' and insta-clicked the 'I love him'
option, to which my lovely lady Hawke gave a venemous response of
'Don't call him that!! Sorry Anders, we can't do this'. Anders got mad
and replied with 'Fine. Whatever you see in a maniac like that.. Perhaps
at least your hand will tame him' and he left.

I wonder. This definately breaks Anders romance, but does Fenris one stay in tact for later apology?

Well, we first have to remember Fenris isn't exactly normal in the emotion department. He has been a slave for nearly all his life. With sides of torment and life endangerment, he cannot cope with the unfamiliar well. So, all this memory flooding freaks him out and partially puts the blame on the relationship. He honestly is afraid. He wants Hawke and yet he is skittish of their first real encounter. Feelings confusing the **** out of him. I cannot find blame in him. He hardly understands how to interact with people let alone with a lover.

3 years seems like a long time. But, plot before minor character development. I am sure Hawke tried to bring it up times before, with Fenris not wanting to discuss it further. If Hawke truly loved Fenris, he/she would have dropped it. Would you nag your dear one to death?

ejoslin wrote...
I actually can buy that since Varric is telling the story, he may not have it completely right. 3 years is just too long for what is going on. Especially since Hawke can then throw herself at Fenris again, and he responds immediately.  So I suddenly change my head canon -- Fenris refused to talk to Varric about it, and Hawke probably wasn't telling him all the gory details.

Edit: It's also in his codex that he refused to speak of it (I believe) and that there's unresolved feelings etc etc etc.

that could very well be the case. I guess with Isabella it's very different. flirting and have flings are not the same as what Hawke and Fenris had together. I guess I have to think of it from the prespective of a man who spent 90% of his life as someone worthless, doing things he was told to and was deprived of a lot of things. Love, to him, is something very foreign, something he's afraid to have, afraid of losing after having. Plus, he's got no prior memory of him being loved by anyone, all he can remember is kill, life on the run, and hatred.

the guy is messed up. I guess it takes him 3 years to finallly get himself together to be with Hawke. I guess it's fair, he's not throwing his mess on Hawke like that

Well, if you think about it, you get him in the sack while he is still losing sleep at night thinking about Danarius appearing and taking him away. When Danarius is finally dead and he doesn't have to worry about his past taking his present anymore, then he's ready to get back with the love of his life. Makes sense. :)

If Danarius did do that maybe it was only before the ritual so Fenris would have forgot. Hopefully. And maybe that's why he left Hawke after that one night. Danarius might not have used Fenris in that way  after the ritual because he didn't want to mess up his "experiment", but this is just speculation. Even if this is true my Hawke will love him no matter what and have Anders revive Danarius so he can slaughter him again :devil:That is the only reason I would want that disgusting old mage alive.

So, I can't kill Carver. I just can't. I spent the whole of Act 1 getting him to a blue friendship status with Fenris and let him become a Grey Warden and the thought of going back and letting him die is just unacceptable for me.

So how am I going to get Fenris kidnapped you ask? Why, by playing another time and letting Bethany bite it, clearly. ;)

So, during my first playthrough, I flirted with Fenris once right at the beginning and then focused on Anders. Yet, after killing hadriana, I got the Don't Go flirt option. Would my Hawke and Fenris have banged that night despite her having focused on her flirtation on Anders? That would have been an epic love story... :)

Ok, this is super geeky, but I realized something about Anders versus Fenris.

Anders says "I love you" and prgresses kinda quickly for me. (Literally, when it gave the option to say I love you, I was like, whoa there. Slow down! and didn't say it. But Fenris on the other hand NEVER says it, but instead shows it. I thought that was brilliant writing. Made that final make out scene so awesome when after he says "I couldn't bare the thought of living without you" you have the option to say, "What are you trying to say?" I was like, hell yeah "What are you trying to say?" :)
Anders tells, Fenris Shows. I prefered the show! :)

I did, just finished that part. It's kinda heartbreaking, but nothing was going right. I made a decision that if I have a better standing with Carver then I'll make him into a Warden. Yeah he died with a neutral outlook towards his sister. Too many smug, bitter comments 'lil bro.<_<

Oh, I love the final scene. I always quick save it so I can give a different response. The "I couldn't hear you." choice is just so :wub::wub:

I know right? Guess Fenris is um, patient? because I can't picture what's like longing for someone (body, soul, heart, ect) for 3 years without doing anything about it, but think of it everyday.

Prompt time:

Wine

Fenris' Mansion

Fenris: (a bit tipsy) ...And then this Sten grabbed Hadrianna and threw her clear across the deck of Danarius' ship, she screamed like a small child unti she landed against the deck railing. (looking down at the bottle of wine at the table) It would appear we need more wine. I will be back.

Hawke: I'll get it.

Fenris: Please allow me.

Hawke: Fen, I know where the wine cellar is I remember fighting through it six years ago.

Fenris: You are my guest, please allow me to go.

Hawke: What is so important about that cellar that I can't go into it?

Fenris: Its nothing, its just that I have it organized in a very...specific manner.

Hawke: (raises eyebrow) You? Neat and tidy? I have to see this. (stands up and starts walking towards the wine cellar)

Fenris:
Wait! (sighs) Fendhis. (Fenris runs to the wine cellar only to find Hawke with her arms crossed around her chest)

Hawke:
Six years, and the bodies are still here. (sighs) You're worse than Carver, at least he only left his socks laying around everywhere. What am I going to do with you?

Fenris: Ignore this and get back to what we were doing?

Hawke: Alright, I'll go along with it, but only because you're so adorable when you're flustered.

Fenris: I am not flustered. (notices Hawke's knowing smile) Perhaps I am a bit flustered. (sighs) I am a weak, weak man aren't I?

Hawke: No you're not, and I can prove it.

Fenris: You're an impossible woman.

Hawke: I know, its apart of my charm.
