we've only seen a few screenshots, and obviously not everything from

maybe only at certain times? 0:"

I had a moronic idea that perhaps the tattoos began to glow when he blushed, but again, moronic idea.

*Ducks and hides under table to avoid being hit*

Maybe they change color (why did I even type that?) glow more with his varying moods.
Content = Pulsating glow
Brooding = Dim glow
Angry = Blinding glow
Etc.
/joking

Edit: You're correct, trickybunny, Gaider mentioned that.

Great, talking about the glowing I keep imagining Fenris like that guy from Sky High whose only superpower is glowing in the dark. lol.

Cloth and such can't hurt him that much, otherwise he wouldn't be wearing that much armor. His lyrium veins (for lack of a better word) go down his neck into his armor. Imagine having sun poisoning or a really bad sun burn and wearing that. Yeah, not gonnah happen. Especially if I'm gonna have to fight in it.

This brings up a discussion line I tried to start earlier that never really took off. Is it possible that drinking lyrium potions would give him some kind of added benefit, or act as a health potion for him if the immortal theory is true?

I don't think the person that did this to him would be a former LI for him. Its one of those awesome cliches that never gets old, but it is still too huge a cliche. Every time someone mentions this I think of Ladyhawke. Old but good movie. If you haven't seen it I would definitely recommend it.

Oooh. :] I had wondered if they'd glow when he was angry, riled up or in combat, but in the screenshot we've seen of him fighting they don't appear to be. Maybe they glow when his master is near? :P

If he's the only one to survive thus far that would probably make him very valuable to the people who did it to him.

I also wonder if it's just elves who are selected for this process, being exposed to raw  lyrium like that...*shudder* humans probably can't handle it, and dwarves I would assume it'd take a lot to make it effective

Ooh interesting question. 0: I would hazard a guess at mostly [or completely] just elves? Just from the fact that in Tevinter some elves are enslaved. The Magister/s would be more inclined to select "second-class" citizens for the process than their own folk, maybe?

Speculation. Posted Image

Probably right, less would care or be inclined to attempt to stop them.

Maybe he glows when he uses one of his skills/special abilities.

Is it only elves who are enslaved in Tevinter? I imagine there must be some humans, and actual history shows humans will do harm to humans no problem. I can easily imagine Fenris is just a survivor of the testing, it usually takes a lot of tries to get something sciency to work out after all.

Edit: Wowza ankuu, I approve. :o

Though I'd approve more if I wasn't surrounded by elderly family members. :bandit:

Oh, and I saw that Mr Gaider had posted while I slept. The touching thing is intriguing (and come on, he has to be a LI!).

I love the brooding info too! For some reason brooding men are hawt. Now, if they just give him a darker, raspy voice I'll be in heaven.

Well it technically means to think about something really hard but in this case we mean sort of moody and close mouthed.

edit: I've never seen it used that way, they it's also means a family of offspring/ group of a specfic breed of animal.

"Good" news...

What made this rivalry relationship so believable were the moments where the sibling interjected with a “story” from childhood, or blatantly challenged Hawke on a decision in a way that an another follower would never. I was also getting a sense that this sibling might be competition for a love interest, but that is purely speculation on my part.

Poor elves. Slaves, second class citizens,  glowing experimental  BOW weapons for warfare where does the madness end? Also yeah I'm sure they tried it on humans, prisoners, poor folk etc. But it was probably revealed that elves have a higher chance of living through the process , maybe Fenris  wasn't  around or born into a society with alot of humans prior to his capture?  And aren't elves far more magically inclined anyway? Maybe Fenny is special, maybe we'll find out he's elven royalty to some lost clan ...</cliche>:lol:

PS. That picture is hot, I'll be faving it on DA here in a minute lol

All really interesting food for thought. ^^;

I wonder where he originated from prior to being enslaved, or whether he was born into it? He probably doesn't remember, I guess.

From the Wiki on the state of elven slaves in Tevinter; "Previous to the first Blight, the Imperium conquered Elvhenan, the elven homeland, and enslaved its people. It is still legal for elves to be sold into slavery in Tevinter and many elves choose to sell themselves into slavery to provide for their families. This results in many Tevinter elves who are not slaves being better off than elves in other areas, even if elven slaves fare far worse."

Wonder if that means he maybe does have a family he's possibly forgotten due to memory loss after all.

Don't Elves have more adaptable genes and whatnot then humans? I think that was also the reason why a child from an elf and human is always human.

But anyway, the reason why Tevinter Magisters probablu use elves in their experiments is because of these adaptable cells and genes of elves.

Very good point, good catch on that one.

As for how he bacame a slave, until told otherwise I'm going with him simply being born into it, I think the poor sod has enough angst in his life without having sold himself into his own personal hell.

Aww I hope Fenris has some family that would be so sweet to see, it's always oh no my parents are dead, everyone i know is dead! It'd be nice to see the enigmatic guy have a family for a change, his mom pinching his cheeks because she missed him so much. :P

I think they genes are recesive and the human ones are dominant (at biology i am good xD). For example the colour blue (eyes) is recesive, brown is dominant. So when a parent has brown eyes and one blue eyes, it's less likely to have a child with blue eyes (but possible). What i am trying to say is that magisters might have used elves just because they think they are an inferior races or something...

Also it just occured to me...what if he is not available when you are a mage? Maybe Bethany must be alive...
