Yeah for Fenris to start a romance with you you have to be at minimum 50% Friendship or Rivalry and you have to have flirted with him at least once prior to the scene where he shows up at your house.

Are you supposed to flirt with him during Questioning Beliefs? Because that doesn't come up until after I complete Bitter Pill.

Not sure if you have to do Questioning Beliefs first, but there is a flirt line in there when you talk to him at his house where Hawke broaches the idea of sleeping together.

But I completed Night Terrors really early on (got some friendship points in there since I took him with me...but he nearly wiped me out when he turned on me, took out Anders in one swing and came gunning for me, I was using every slippery rogue trick in the book to avoid the pointy end of his sword.  Damn I created a monster. :police:).  So I got Questioning Beliefs right after that, then I completed A Bitter Pill later on (I tend to do the "secondary" quests first, save the juicy companion stuff for later).

@WMRina, I totally forgot the night terror quest. Excellent, I need to boost the friendship scale up to 100% before I reach Act III.

i think it took me about three playthroughs to finally get the achievement.
everyone else seemed to show up at my mansion no problem. i think i turned down every single one of them.
in the end though, romancing fenris is totally worth it.

I made a "good" character but am having trouble playing her. I hate her. lol What a freaking doormat. If I ever get through her game, she's going to be a friendmance since she's a lawful mage and sending every other mage willy nilly back to the Circle. So I think the rivalmance will always be my favorite.

Yeah I'm restarting my mage because of this. God I'm tired of being NICE. She's not supposed to be all lawful and stuff. I swear I have some serious Origins habits going through. She does not believe in the chantry control over mages, not one little bit. Which yeah, I suppose makes her perfect for Anders but Fenris has her from his very exciting hello. So I need to rewind, I guess to act one right when they meet, and start being a sarcastic/aggressive rebellious wild child. give Carver better reason to be all fussy.

I feel your pain  Addai, but for different reasons.  I'm doing my angry mage right now.  At least she started out angry.  She got Carver at 100% rivalry, left him at home for the deep roads.  Now the sod is a Templar and hates me.  Go figure.  She mellowed in the years that followed and is now going mostly sarcastic.  Frankly it's really hard for me to stay agressive.  It was so easy for me to play the noble warrior in my first play throug, hbut angry is hard to maintain.  I have difficulty being just plain unpleasant.

I hope my rivalmance works out with Fenris.  I really prefer him over Anders.  Not only is Fen dark and alluring, he's not crazy possesed.  Even my noble warrior was having second thoughts by the end of the second act.  The whole chantry bit was the final straw for her and now she's alone.  Oh well.  Maybe she'll hook up with someone else in an expansion.

For those that are attempting friend romance with Fenris, I have another method: it requires you to be rivals with Merrill. Basically any of Merrill's personal quests, take Fenris with you. You'll score easy friendship points that way since Merrill's blood magic is a big no no for . For instance when you first meet Merrill, take Fenris with you. If you disagree with the way Merrill disable the barrier, that's an easy 10 pts in friendship with Fenris

Actually that was the easiest friendship point. And as Merrill haven't officially join the party yet, we don't have to worry about her rival scale

Here is the rivalry version of the post-Hadriana talk.  I did pick the aggressive options, but it illustrates a good clash doing it that way.  No abuse there.  Just... two people who challenge each other and who want each other despite themselves.

Wow, I need to do an aggressive Fenris rivalmance.

I like it when he gets riled up, I think it makes sense considering what he's been through. Plus he's got a nice angry voice. ::clears throat::

I really do love this scene when it goes this way.  The whole thing takes on a new dimension.

@addai With Fenris and the rivalmance, it does make sense to often be tough on him, to disagree with him (especially my mages), and to challenge him.  It is just a completely different feeling relationship.  Both romances are awesome, but if I'm going to be sweet and nice to him, it will end up a friendmance, and my Hawkes are not always sweet and nice people.

I... Oh wow... I was planning for Navarre to be the first rival-mance for Fen, but.... I think I might make Isabeau the first one... both are gonna be mages...and Navarre was gonna be Anti-Circle, but now...now I think Isabeau might be as well.

I named my Lady Hawke Isabeau and my dog got the name Navarre. It felt right to romance Fenris after naming her that too. Hawke and her Wolf...

Nice to see a fellow fan.

Ahh. Interesting way to do it :)

I wanted to have different characters for Isabeau and Navarre. Granted, Navarre would be better suited to a 2-handed warrior, I want to make him a Mage...

In hindsight I should have saved the name Navarre for my male Hawke playthrough and named the dog Mouse:)

I realized if I was going to do Friend Points for Fenris, I might as well bring Aveline along. Act II started and Aveline is maxed and Fenris needs like 5 or 10. I love how they just agree on everything I do.

Aveline and Fenris were constant companions to my mage.  So was Varric.  I'd throw the others in for their personal mission (managed to get everyone maxed to Friendship once  >.>  Damn if I know how I managed that), but mostly it was these three.

I don't like messing with group mechanics so I mainly stick to one group and let the others fry. Big reason why Isabela ditched me first game. I'm thinking about just letting her go again so I can have different scenes to watch. And that Isabela just doesn't work with my Mage well. Merrill...has always been tricky. I've avoided her quests like the plague as it seems no one in my group likes what she likes.

Aveline + Fenris + Varric is a pretty good set up. My mage just casting **** like yeah. But I think I screwed up in her ability points early on. Tried Elemental but decided to go down a different tree, ugh my attacks are weak.

Fenris' Friendship is really easy to max if you go with goodie-two-shoes-responses. I found it harder to keep him away from quests which involved mages, since those are plentiful; friendship plummets like the Hindernburg if you symphatize with mages even a little, even though your character might be a mage himself/herself.

On my first play playthrough I had decided to romance Anders since I liked him in Awakening. But it just got very difficult when Fenris came along! Acutally ended up pissing Anders off about Fenris and had to reload to complete the romance xD
Can't decide if I like rival or friendship more for a romance with Fenris. Bot are really nice ^^

Maker's Sigh is a potion to zero-out your character's attributes and abilities.  I actually use it on Fenris before taking him into the Fade in act two so he doesn't completely murder my characters...>.>;  I've messed up my abilities/attribute points once or twice and this potion saved me.  It's available from Black Emporium for sure, and maybe in act 2 in the Gallows.

So reading back (because I can't keep up), what happens when Fenris is the one kidnapped? Anything major, or just more "damn mages" stuff? Do you at least get points for rescuing him?

I don't really know about the points.  At this point in the game, Fenris was maxed out on friend points.  I'm doing a rival playthrough with the same circumstances, and I'm wondering how different it will be in that situation...>.>

Old news, but I'm trying to get this to happen in my current playthrough.  Is DuPuis just hanging around somewhere after things go down with the zombie bride?
