I need an advice...I am rivalmancing Fenris, and I was doing A Bitter Pill when I noticed I couldn't find a way to avoid friendly points with the elf slave Orana. I honestly don't want her at home, as a slave or domestic, but the best I could do to avoid too much loss of rivalry was say Fenris I would pay her for her work, so she was not a slave. But I really wouldn't want her at home >.<
I already gave him one gift, he is around 70% and after the quest (taking the 5 friendly points from Orana) the sexscene triggers...

If I take the +10 friendly point for letting her go (with money or not) will I be screwed for the 100 rivalry? :\\ I still have to do Merrill's quests, probably they could be a boost in rivalry (though I tend to be mean with Merrill, I'll just have to cheat a bit :\\)

So does any of his dialogue change if you friendmance him as a mage? I think that romance has the potential to be one of the cutest things ever.

If you're already at 70%, I doubt it. Save if possible, reload and give it a check and see if he still gives you friend points. If not, don't worry about it, plenty of chances to get rival points later...

I rivalmanced Fenris fully in Act III. Don't worry. The second gift and some other chances at Rivalry make up for it.

No, no.  I talked to him about Hawke's mother and he accompanied me to face wots-'is-name.  I couldn't find him afterward.  Unless the option is supposed to be there when I find him while searching for her, but it sounds like you can find him afterward and exact a little revenge for his involvement in Hawke's mother's death.  In which case, he was not back in Darktown afterwards on my playthrough.

I ran this a few times last night because I was trying to see if Fenris had any dialogue when you find Leandra- he doesn't, sadly- though Merrill has a sweet line.  Anyway I could swear on one of them, we killed DuPuis during the fight.  On another one with just Fenris in the party, though, it's DuPuis who speaks up about Quentin's magic being the only thing that kept her alive.  So maybe he was speaking from the grave?  Image IPB  I didn't know you could track him down afterwards.

I noticed something while playing last night. Along with Hawke's favor Fenris has  something bearing the Hawke family crest on his belt. What do you suppose it could be? I'm going with house keys.

It's not house keys. It IS the family crest. Nothing other than that.

Regarding the friendly points with Fenris during "a bitter pill," I found if my rivalry was low enough, I got none. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, though. It's easy enough to tick him off at other times, though, that it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

How do you guys manage to rivalmance Fenris?
I'm trying, and pretty much am an **** mage sympathiser, but the gorgeous elf makes me do things of questionable nature to get rivalry! Like, I wanted to give Fenris the chance to torture the slaver... oh noes, friendship points! I wanted to slice and dice the guy selling mages to slavers (I'm a gung-ho mage sympathiser!!!), oh noes, Fenris APPROVES! He's killing me, really, he is. I had to make a deal with the bastard through Varric just to not get friend points.

My aim is get close to 100% rivalry at the end of act 1 or at the beginning of act 2.

I had the conversation with him, the choices to get rivalry from him are so... UGH. So I took the 20 friendship hit if it meant having a decent conversation.

I'm not looking forward to him yelling at me when I give him a gift. This rivalry stuff is TOUGH.

Fenris is really hard to take either way, most of his approval changes seem totally random.

The only part of friendmance that I saw that it was really brought up that Hawke was a mage was during the dialogue that Fenris (if you flirt with him beforehand, and I don't remember which one other then this part, except that I believe that it's in Act II) calls Hawke beautiful/handsome and inquires if Hawke has a problem with him being a former slave and squatting in the mansion. The sarcastic option to reply to that (if you're playing a mage) is that you are an apostate and something else (I can't remember the exact reply). Other then that, I really didn't notice him pointing out much about being a mage (but then I never picked the options that were, "Hey, what about me?! I'm a mage!").

Hmm... Perhaps it's time for me to go make Nerezza... or remake Kaaliss as a mage instead of a rogue...

Hmmm... I actually left Fenris at home for that  part of that quest and brought Aveline to temporarily fill the tank role when I did my rivalmance with him. If you have to, play on the friend path again so you learn where all of the friend points are-- I had played on friendly path + romance basically twice before (original save got deleted as I got close to the end-game, so I had to replay it again)  I did the rival one, so I had a good idea.

With that quest in particular (this is the one with Feynriel, right?), just temporarily boot him when you talk to the slaver, get the info and kill the slaver, and then grab him again and you shouldn't have to worry about the friend points. When you get to the end of the cave, send Feynriel to the Dalish, which I know gets you at least a few rival points there.

That's fine, I'm restarting my amell import and want to know where to find them before I screw up again.

The mother mentions it, and Cullen does as well. I think there are a few more too.

I can't read through 1000 something pages of post, so I'm just gonna ask. I'm sure people has noticed the similarity between Fen and Wolverine? Markings, power, lost memory, rough personality....

If I had a nickel for every time I've heard this so far, I'd have me some really nice pocket change.

But yes, it's been pointed out lots of times. You're not the first to notice. :D

If your Amell is female then Cullen will mention her at the start of Act 2, in Act 1 when you first talk to your mother ask her about the Amell family and she will say the Hero of Ferelden was "one of ours" She also mentions that the Amell Warden was her cousin's child and that the Circle took all her children. Meaning the Amell Warden has siblings.

And that Mage!Warden, correct me if I'm wrong, is Hawke's second cousin.

I had no problem at all in the friendly path, even as a mage I always condemned blood magic and slayed on sight slavers and such. I just avoided to take him on Feynrel quest of the one with the apostates in the cave. In other cases, he doesn't mind that much even if you take some other mage-friendly choices or moderate ones (which I usually took). I think he was 100% friendly at the start of Act2 without much trouble.

I'm having more problems rivalmancing...

In regards to that, I remembered something that I never really got.

In the mage origin, playing as a female, is the guy the warden gets to flirt with at the very beginning Cullen?

I had a female mage character but that was aaaages ago so I don't remember at all.

In the cutscene after you romance him against the wall (), there is a change.

For rivalmance, he says that this (the sex) should have never happened. To which I say, "Ouch."

In a friendship romance, Fen says that he wanted a chance to be happy, if only for a little while. :crying:

Playing a mage on a rivalmance is sounding more and more appealing.
