Yes I meant right after the battle when Ghost of Leandra stumbles over to you. Merill makes a nice little comment, but I think this spot is reserved for a mage. They're supposed to tell you that it was only Quentin's magic keeping her alive so she's going to.. uh, die. Again. Or whatever.shantisands wrote...

I ran this a few times last night because I was trying to see if Fenris had any dialogue when you find Leandra- he doesn't, sadly- though Merrill has a sweet line. .
At least if in a romance ( well, kinda) he comes back to your estate. i was actually impressed at how....real he was when he came back. He didn't try to be anything but who he was, didn't offer false sentiment to provide comfort, just was who he was and came by because he cared. Being there, was enough. He didn't distort that with contrived, though well-meaning, words. My mage appreciated that.

So does any of his dialogue change if you friendmance him as a mage? I think that romance has the potential to be one of the cutest things ever.
In the cutscene after you romance him against the wall (), there is a change.
For rivalmance, he says that this (the sex) should have never happened. To which I say, "Ouch."
In a friendship romance, Fen says that he wanted a chance to be happy, if only for a little while.
Playing a mage on a rivalmance is sounding more and more appealing.
=Edit=
Is there video of this?
After talk for a rival romance.
Ahh, thank you! I don't think I was really paying attention to what Fenris was saying during the rivalmance... too much attention to facial expressions and the voice, not the words.

Cassandra: Wait, the Champion had an elven lover?
Varric: Yes, but that's not important, you're more interested in what happened with the Qunari aren't you? (notices Cassandra staring at him) No offense Seeker, but mushy stories don't really seem like they'd be your sort of thing.
Cassandra: Are you implying something dwarf?
Varric: Not at all.
Cassandra: Then tell me the story.
Varric: Very well, once upon a time in the land of Kirkwall there was a beautiful woman named Hawke. She had many hobbies, but her favorite was tormenting the local elf-boy Fenris. Every time she tried to get under his skin with outrageous requests Fenris would always respond by saying "As you wish..."
(A few hours later)
Varric: ...and then Fenris was killed. (notices Cassandra is crying) You alright Seeker?
Cassandra: Did he really die?
Varric: Don't worry, it all works out in the end, but you probably don't want to hear about...
Cassandra: Tell me!
Varric: Alright, alright....
(Anders' Clinic)
Isabela: Is he dead?
Anders: Lucily for you you're friend here is only mostly dead.
Isabela: Mostly dead? How can someone be mostly dead? That's inconceivable.
Anders: Oh so you're the medical expert now. Look, there's a big difference between dead, and mostly dead. Mostly dead, I can fix.
Isabela: What would you do if he was dead?
Anders: Search his pockets for loose change?

True, but I think Isabela lacks the restraint for believable exaggeration. I doubt she'd get the tone right either. She'd skip the sweet reconciliation and say they just collided and then their clothes fell off. And then the qunari showed up. And Varric would demand she leave creative license to him from that point on.yukidama wrote...
They have that in common! I bet Cassandra intervened or else we'd have some freaky scenes that would be completely unmentionable in any society (much less the polite variant) AND have earned DA2 an AO rating from the ESRB.

I had mine by early Act II. I'm probably not the best to give the advice-- I have no idea how to get full friend when it gets to crunch time.

For those who didn't watch the film, long story short :
There was a farm boy and a very beautiful girl who he was in love with. Every time she asked him to do something he'd answear "As you wish" while what he really was telling her was "I love you" ( I do recommend to watch the movie for getting a "full picture")
Now I have no idea if his response is different if you didn't romance him...I just can't resist him every time I play! That's why someone else would have to check it up
It's just something I found worth sharing. I might as well be wrong but it still warms my heart just beaing a possibility
I love that movie-- I wonder if that was intended...
He's secretly telling Hawke, "I love you."
*Gush*
haha, even if thats not intended, im going to keep thinking that anyway

I am comforting myself because my computer decided it will not play the game. Words cannot express how ******* angry this makes me. I can't even get past the beginning to customize Hawke!
Anyway. @DemonSaya: Those cuddling sketches of yours are wonderful. I've tried figure drawing and just can't seem to get human (or elf) body proportions right, so I appreciate yours even more. The movement and emotion in simple sketches is really good. Thank you for sharing!
Re: "As you wish." Oh, it makes me wibble so much more now.
Comforting Hawke by just being there after the fate of poor mother. That scene simultaneously rips out my heart and mends it with tenderness. Fenris looked like he rushed there, because the person he cares about is hurting, and even if he doesn't know what to say just being there is amazing. I tend to imagine he did stay the night just to hold Hawke. It had to be a turning point in their semi-breakup. It gave them a kind of new foundation to grow closer again, which for me makes that three year gap more believable if they are tentatively trying to rebuilt their closeness.

Supporting Templars instead of mages will give you extra friendship points, but I usually have them maxed out pretty early in the game. In chapter 2, Fenris is currently hanging around 80% rival...
supporting Templars is just easier to do...makes me wonder if you're pro mage, how hard is it to romance him
I'm gonna try since I'm doing pro mage (again) in this PT and I'm gonna see to what extent I can get without supporting the templars too much

Old news, but I'm trying to get this to happen in my current playthrough. Is DuPuis just hanging around somewhere after things go down with the zombie bride?
Oh my god! I need this to happen on my next play through (since I am going to let Bethany DIE in the Deep Roads so Mother dying might in fact make my Hawke get mildly psycho. Woot!
How do you get this to go down. Instead of following Gamlen, go to Darktown? Then follow Gamlen?
Yes how did you get to do that? I never saw him again after he told me about his sister......
If you let DuPuis go, and I believe you must also tell that one templar chick you believe he is innocent after you find Emeric dead, wait until after Leandra goes missing. Instead of going to Lowtown (night), go to Darktown. DuPuis should be by the Abandoned Mining Tunnels (way to the right side of the area).
http://dragonage.wik...ll_That_Remains
You just need to not kill Gasard or tell the templar woman that you suspect him of foulplay because he will be executed and thus unavailable later on. Find Gasard, have him do the ritual to find your mother, and when you confront his master, you must talk him out of siding with his master (there's a star icon -- not sure if this is personality related). After that whole comfort talk, loved one showing up at bedside thing, you can go back to Darktown where you originally found Gasard and trigger the scene in the video. If Aveline is in the group, she will override Fenris' actions so be sure to save right before you talk to Gasard in case another companion steals the show.

Thanks a lot. I've actually been drawing for almost 15 years now (mostly sketches and such, and I admittedly started with anime-style...). I'm lucky enough to have a dad with a great artistic sense who didn't worry about making me cry when giving critiques...<_< And maker knows he did make me cry when I was very young and he'd tear into my work like an English teacher tears into term papers.

Gah, I hope this doesn't come off as rude but... Is it really THAT difficult to romance him? I did it my first playthrough, no guide, no anything. It helped that Anders' approval was in the middle so I couldn't romance him from the rebound. But DAO was approval based on romances, I figured DA2 would be as well, especially since they had added the rivalry system.
Or maybe I just got lucky. That's possible too.
i find it pretty easy to romance him, and i have him in my party the whole time..
of course, i have to be a hypocrite and hate mages but...

Being a massive Anders fan I had no doubts that he would be my first (and maybe only) romance in DA2. Then I recruited Fenris.... and, oh Maker how that changed
I am curious, does anyone have a ballpark age on the elf at the time of recruitment? I've tried a bit of research + creative number crunching and my guess is somewhere between 26 - 28? But that almost seems a bit too old for his face, perhaps I am stuck on the smexy maturity of his voice...
