And the power to defend himself, he can run...and now he's got companions who are willing to fight for/by him. Varania, however, cannot see any light inside the tunnel she's in. I really really think she said all that only defend her actions and perhaps somewhat set the record straight, because there's not gonna be any heart to heart...I just picture them yelling at each other, almost compare the hardship they each endured

I think Fenris really need to hold onto something.
When his sisters betrays him , he just realize he can't be Leto .
But he can deal with it , cos he build a life , he has friends (avline , hawke etc..)
If you let Danarius take him , you can see him falling apart and he just surrenders.
I saw a video , i can't do it in game , it's just a awful and cruel moment to see him giving up on everything.
I saw that too. I was like W.T.F. Who could do that? I never could. It just broke my heart watching it, I couldn't imagine choosing to do that to him.

She is the antithesis of her brother though, isn't she.... He did what did for her and she did what she did for her too. What she does is worse (imo) because it is like she is blaming him for doing what he did to help them.Helen0rz wrote...

His sister...it's weird but I think the only thing thats still there that makes them brother/sister is just blood ties and thats it. Fenris sacrificed himself for his sister and mother's freedom, but it doesn't seem as though they got anywhere/much freedom. Base on what Varania said (if you let her live) about how she thinks he got the better end of the bargain, there's some resentment towards him. God knows what THEY had to do to survive after Danarius let them go.
I'm not saying it's ok to sell Fenris out or trying to justify her actions, I just sympathize with her situation. She's so desperate to change her life around she's willing to sell out a brother that's has been taken from the family, and at the same time shatter every bit of his...dream of having a family, or at least get his pre-memory wipe back
Whatever the outcome his actions where selfless making her choice all the more cruel and self serving. I think if we had some sort of heartfelt letter (if you let her go) or something that looked like genuine remorse rather than ''Save my hide, Hawke'', I would talk him down, but nothing.... you let her go and she can't resist digging the knife and twisting it. Maybe if instead of the ''You asked for it'', She said that what she had done was unforgivable and she hated herself for it... but no, not even that, it is all ''Oh he was going to train me, I coulda been someone..'' Like selling your brother out is the accepted going rate for what she wants.
She is never getting through one of my play throughs lol, I clearly have *issues*

Yeah...I haven't watched that video. Kinda don't want to either, I know it's gonna break my heart to see that...not only that he needs something to hold on to, I think he needs to root himself somewhere...

I ask because, well ... I would find it hard to believe that Isabela, for instance, would tolerate it. Since she seems to get friendly with Fenris (whether or not you romance any them), plus she's really opposed to slavery. It would feel like a perfect opportunity to lose several companions. Give Fenris away - lose Isabela.
If a friend of mine tried to sell another friend into slavery, I'd put up one hell of a fight against it, or if I knew it'd be entirely pointless, at the very least leave that friend forever.

No one leaves, but Anders throws a party (well, not literally..).

I guess we never know about it , and it might be better this way.
But during the party banters , you can tell Fenris don't like at all what he is.
He calls his abilities a curse , and when asked to teach his skills to the guard etc , he refuses.
Saying he don't want to teach that to anybody.
I really think it's being turned into a murderer wicth hurt him the most. And I think that was the writer's intention.
Although I think there is a subconscious (maybe) knowledge that it might have been his fault/choice that it happened and for that reason his sister must always die :devil:so he doesn't know for sure (at least not until it doesn't hurt him anymore........)
Actually I am interested in how many people allow him vengeance and how many people talk him round. I talked him out of it once, but prefer to let him *off* her, I am a forgiving person but imo, she really has it coming......... <_<
First time it was just me and Fenris, I talked him out of killing his sister (Bethany alive and in circle), +15 rivalry points earned.
Second time, I took Varric with me, we had let Bartrand live and Bethany die, Varric interjects....+15 friendship points

I was twitching whilst doing it, but tbh............ It didn't bother me that much. It allows you to see that they know Meredith was batsh*t crazy.......... And I kind of felt that they wanted to do better. It is clear that the waters are muddy on both sides and just about every mage will (as Samson suggests) resort to extreme measures. Just sided with the templars, simply to get the achievement and see how the end unfolds. (Sebastian left without a threat of bringing armies on me, which was a nice change) even though I let Anders go. I just can't effing kill him, damn it. It isn't in my nature...though let's be honest, neither is siding with the Templars. It is actually almost painful to play through the end and watch how it unfolds. Curiosity wins. And to be honest...I think I'll reload after I get it and play it the way I would, because having a friendly Carver come back saying, "I only came back because I thought you were fighting for your life!" made me frowny. He loves his seester. :')
Right? When Orsino turned into an uber monster with Blood Magic, I got supremely pissed. Not a SINGLE pure mage in the GAME! Dang it! Save for my Hawke of course...
You can just hear the Templars laughing their asses off at that one.... ''Oh the irony Hawke. Want some help? No? We'll leave you to sort that one out..''

They don't leave the party, but most of the companions have something to say while the deal is going down. But after that, as far as I have heard, there is no other mention of it.
Isabela is not happy about it, though, in the comments she does make.

you miss what you had when it's no longer there. Maybe in her mind being a slave was better than not having anywhere to go? I don't know...but it feels like if she doesn't look out for herself, no one will. She's alone just like Fenris now that the mom is dead. It's kinda like grass is greener on the other side you know? She envy Fenris but Fenris doesn't think it's all that (well ofcourse not)

Ugh, don't remind me. He was also assisting Quentin's research in necromancy, indirectly leading to the kidnapping and death of Hawke's mother. The F***. When I got the special answer in the Pro-Templar playthrough, I nearly went off.
My rogue's tend to be pro-mage until Leandra get's killed, then she turns neutral...I'm looking forward to a particular elf-napping this playthrough. Since I let Grace escape this time, I want to see how that stuff goes down. ESPECIALLY since I made so many pro-mage decisions so far...

Sorry, this one kind of jumped at me. And I'm addicted to italics. Also, this is PG at best. This is kinda how I envisioned the rivalry romance between my rogue!Hawke and Fenris during the three year time skip between Act 2 and 3.
----
Hawke scratched his head, watching as Fenris stared contemplatively into the fireplace in Danarius's old mansion. Of dust. And corpses. Hawke tried not to think of that. He inched forward, trying to think of a way to approach him without angering the ex-slave. Fenris often went through periods where he became more withdrawn from Hawke... ever since the 'night'. Occasionally they would get closer, only for Fenris to pull violently away again. Maker, maybe getting drunk in Hanged Man last night was a bad idea. Fenris had shown up unexpected (didn't he spend most of his time in his mansion?), but stopped cold and left after he spotted him drinking with Merrill and Isabella. And hasn't spoken a word to him since unless it was necessary.
He sighed. "I..."
Fenris shot a sharp look at him. "Is there something you wish to say?"
Hawke raised his eyebrow. "It seems like you have something to say. Maker tell me, what did I do wrong this time?" He finally snapped. Fenris always had a way of getting under his skin.
The elf stood abruptly, and started pacing. "It's not... YOU didn't..."
Fenris came to a halt and rubbed his forehead exasperatedly before looking at Hawke. "Do you even see how others look at you?"
The Champion blinked. "Uh..."
Fenris strode a few steps closer. "Merrill. She hangs all over you like an expectant lap cat," He spat, still moving nearer.
"Merrill is my friend, Fenris! She isn't as bad as you think!" Hawke said frustratedly, crossing his arms.
The elf raised his eyebrows. "Really? Isn't that bad? She's a blood mage. She puts everyone in danger, and never listens to reason! And you encourage it," He growled, pointing at Hawke accusingly.
"I don't encour-" Hawke stopped, suddenly looking at Fenris in a new light. "You're... jealous."
Fenris scowled. "I am most certainly not jealous of that witch."
Hawke grinned. "You're cute when you pout."
The scowl deepened. "I do not pout."
Hawke's eyes softened as he moved closer, placing his hand on Fenris' cheek. "You have no cause to be jealous. I lov-"
Fenris abruptly moved back, eyes wide. "I can't. I..." He trailed off, looking torn between want and regret. "...I'm sorry," He said finally, before quickly striding out of the room.
The Champion sighed. Goddamn puppy eyes.

Aww, what a shame. I'm a bit disappointed now, really. Selling a friend into slavery should be as despicable to some people as destroying the Ashes were to Leliana in DA:O. I can understand Anders being happy, and Varric staying despite that. But Isabela ...? She's so anti-slavery and even seems to be friends with Fenris.
Sebastian could also be a potential cause for trouble because of that decision, what with Hawke selling Fenris to a Tevinter Magister who's a blood mage.

That was disappointing, yeah. It just proved that the Templars were right all along. Meredith might've been an extremist and a dictator ... but that scene convinced me that the Circle needs to be under templar control (with a better leader than Meredith, of course). If even someone like Orsino turns to blood magic ... than all are corrupt.
That scene decided things for me; on my third playthrough, I'm gonna play a mage, and he's gonna be totally anti blood magic and smite anyone who uses it. And be anti-Anders because Anders is possessed.
