I took that jealous line as Denarius suggesting that Hawke was jealous of his supposed control over Fenris. As in, when Fenris was still enslaved by Denarius, Fenris would do as commanded. Since Hawke referred to Fenris as a free man, it seemed like Denarius thought was a shortcoming on Hawke's part and thus envied the power he had over Fenris.
If that makes any sense. Ugh, I'm having a hard time verbalizing this.
Denarius just oozing creepy doesn't help, but I never thought the dialogue suggested sexual abuse.
This. Exactly this. I never got how people seem convinced Fenris was sexually abused. I honestly doubt he would be so open to flirting with Hawke if he was. I couldn't find any in-game reference to it either, considering Danarius' lines can be (if not should be) interpreted the way stated by Saslic.
If anything, Fenris confessing how he hasn't had any sexual encounter as far as he can remember, should be the end of the discussion.
He doesn't say that. What he DOES say is that he has no memories of before he had the markings and hasn't been close to anyone since escaping.
Considering the setting, considering Hawke's question, if there had been anything going on between him and Danarius, I'm pretty sure he would have given Hawke a different answer than "can't remember before the marking, haven't been with anyone after the escape" thing and just left it at that.
If there had been something going on, I sincerely doubt the above statement and Danarius' comment would have been the end of it, especially when Fenris and Hawke become more intimate during Act III.
If Fenris had been sexually abused, he would have handled the intimate situations differently.
But that's my opinion. While
I'm convinced there was nothing of the sort going on, until it gets publically clarified, people can have this discussion until infinity. And knowing BioWare, that won't happen anytime soon.
