Hahahaha, my husband does NOT get dragon age at all. I tried to get him to play Origins (I figured he'd fall in love with Morrigan and quit teasing me about Zevran) but he couldn't get through the origins. He has no interest in DA2 either -- he's a FPS type person. He'll play games like FO3/NV and Bioshock, but nope, no BW games.
His reaction to Fenris was, "Oh god, another elf." He's hilarious. At least he hasn't started impersonating him like he did with Zevran for months (actually, he does a GREAT Zevran so I didn't mind too much).
Edit: I don't know if that banter comes up if neither is romanced, or if Fenris and Hawke had sexytime and then Hawke moved on and Bela isn't romanced. I've never played a game where he just wasn't romanced at all.
It was unexpected, that banter, to say the least. I seriously felt jealous! I had been thinking after Merrill's banter that there was a chance of them getting back together and then heard that and was just, UUUUUUUGGGGGH!
My first playthrough I romanced Anders and never touched Fenris. The convo with Isabela came up. So yes, it happens if you didn't romance either.
Also if you don't romance Fenris, when Isa hits on him he seems encouraging. If you romance Fenris, he tells Isa to keep her distance (in a rather displeased tone LOL).

I also never plan to put Isabela and Fenris in the same party when not romancing Fenris. I cannot take that he has sex with her and yet always spazzes out when he sleeps with Hawke. ARG. I prefer to be blissfully unawares, LOL.
It's pretty strange. Fenris talking to/in a relationship with Isabela and Fenris the rest of the time do not seem like the same person. I like it better than romancing him. Their relationship strikes me as better for him, too, IMO, and it's only implied by a banter or two.
I also find him to be a more compelling character if instead of sitting at home being confusing and doing nothing for seven years he at least manages to leave long enough to fool around with Isabela.

That definitely only happens after the sexytime (where he tells her to keep her distance). They do flirt, though, before then. They're attracted to each other. And why not? Both are very hot!

I just cannot bare to hear it. It's hard enough that I need two canons for Anders and Fenris, I don't need to be tortured by jealousy while romancing Anders. UGH.

Apparently Fenris and Isa are really good friends either way, they don't have a relationship... just sex. I think they both find that to be the easiest way.
Still, that seems to work better for him than feeeeelings~

Well I see Fenris as the sort of guy who is OK'ish with sexy times only; it's just when there are feelings involved that it becomes complicated for him. After all, having feelings would mean opening up to a world of potential hurt and rejection - he's way too angsty to deal with it, even with Hawke he runs away cause it's all too much for him.

Eh... I don't find that particularly compelling.

I could just be imagining it, but since I wasn't expecting it actually it was noticeable to me.
A note on battle noise someone else mentioned: yes, I can't hear most of the battle cries because with Beth and Anders and Varr around most of the time things are uber loud!

Feelings are just overwhelming to him, or something. I think it's overwhelmig for us/Hawke for him to 'offer himself/his heart' to us and then he's like 'no I just can't right now, I'll be in in 3 years'. THAT'S overwhelming, such mixture of feelings!
Lol

Try not doing The Long Road. It's interesting to see how different the Guard reacts to Aveline if she doesn't marry Donnic.Helen0rz wrote...
It's just interesting to see hat stuff happens if we as Hawke does not do something about it, like if you don't find Hadriana fast enough, if you don't romance Fenris. Isabella did sayin one of the party banters that if she likes something, she's gonna go for it. The girl's already gave us chances to romance her/Fenris, she only have casual sex with Fenris if we don't do something it beforehand hahahaha

It's odd to see people talking about Isabela since I rarely have her in my party, have always had the Fenris romance on, and she buggers off in Act 2, so I've only heard their early banters and then him saying "once a thief always a thief" when she sticks a knife in our back. If I hadn't been on the forums I'd never have guessed there was even a friendship between them. In the early banters he practically calls her a sl*t. I don't guess that what they have could be called "a relationship," more like booty calls.

Yeah, I agree with this. Hawke is out doing his/her thing so should Fenris. It makes me sad to think of him just brooding all of these years away when he could be...well...I wouldn't say happy, but erm...less broody?
Plus, it's Isabela!! <333 She's lovely!

LOL Why? That only happens if he and Hawke don't do it. I don't see the point in jealousy. He should have friends, experience life- he's been a slave and on the run his whole life.Helen0rz wrote...
Just looked up the entire party banter between Isabella and Fenris. God...so much flirting...so jealous...so jealous at the part that implied they did it....so...jealous...
BTW I was replaying "Alone" last night and it occurred to me that one reason Fenris doesn't move in might be that everyone would assume he's Hawke's slave, as Danarius does. A cobwebby mansion at least gives him a bit of independence. Though in my current game, both Carver and Leandra die and it's sad to think of my PC rattling around in a big mansion with only servants and Fenris also alone in his haunted palace.

I'm pretty sure Fenris always ran to your side, even in Act 1. He does it to any Hawke, romanced or not. But I'll admit, I did the "Oh! He's protecting me! <3"
I've taking a ton of battle screenshots, and he's always RIGHT THERE, and his sword is inevitably placed so it looks like he's about to slice me in half.
If Fenris is in my group, he's always somewhere near me. The rest of the group could be dog-knows-where, but Fenris will be in sight. If he's not, I know SOMETHING is very wrong and I better go find out what.

If you romance him, Varric says at the end that everyone leaves Hawke's side, except Fenris. I don't see him needing separate tents or anything at that point. but the separate mansion makes sense to me.
EDIT: plus, that's where his wine stash is

You might be onto something there Addai. I do wish they would have some arrangement, like with Anders where he gets the key to the underground passage to the estate so he can come and go freely

I guess they're both on the run at that point. But yeah, he does seem the type that would always want some distance, which I can understand. I have an allergy to the LIs that are more clingy anyway- Alistair being an exception.Mel_Redux wrote...

When Favor and Fault happens, you will find that several Guards have joined with Jeven. Also, afterwards, Donnic, in his little speech, looks at Aveline and says, "You're a b*tch.~"Then continues on with the rest of that line(I can't recall it at the moment).Helen0rz wrote...

Yeah but according to him in the Alone quest he has no friends or something. I don't know. I found him to be confusing and frustrating and not in ways that made me curious to understand him. I played twice and romanced him once and I still don't... get it.
But I do like him when he's angry.
