Agreed. With merrill I've always refuse to give her the dagger for her sake. She eventually realize shes wrong but I'm going to let her have it this pt just because I wanna see just how stupid she is with this mirror obsession and then hear her say she made a mistake

I think some of the companions need more saving than Kirkwall itself

I let Merrill win this time around. She honestly has good intentions. But refusing her to find her own answers doesn't seem like the right idea. If you deny her, she'll just find other ways to get it. Best that I am the one who watches over her process.

@ultipup

Yeah...I guess. I mean the outcome is gonna be the same you know? Good intention with bad methods kinda auto voids the good intention part, like Anders, you know? I think all the companions have intentions with what they believe in and are shaped that way based on what they grow up knowing/experienced and can only react generally that way because that's the result of those experience.

I actually let her win 3/4 times. The first time, I didn't fully understand the 'friendship' system, and was making her a rival for the achievement and to make sure that I didn't accidentally lose any Fenris Friend points >.>; Didn't realize maxing it out meant you couldn't lose them anymore...

I love idle animations.

Kara: Fenris, I assure you, you can relax
Fenris: No. You are a mage, I must remain vigilant
Kara: Yes, staring a hole through me will certainly prevent me from become an abomination, or keep me from being possessed by a crazed spirit

Fenris, you're looking too high. That's the back of my head. Look lower. Lower...lower. There. That's what you were trying to stare at.

It seems to me like Fenris must have had some bad experiences with being a slave already before the ritual - I cannot see why he would search it out just to free his mother and sister form slavery otherwise. So I doubt it was all happy memories and good times then. It also seems to me that he does not himself remember that I competed for his markings when his sister mentions it – instead he looks seems confused, like he isn’t be sure what he should make of it.
Another possibility is of course that his sister could be lying straight up about him wanting the markings. She sure doesn’t seem like she holds him in any high regards or care much about him, so why would she really care to tell the truth to him? Then again why would she bother to lie?

… Just a few musings XD

Honestly, I let his sister die because I believe my companions should make their own decisions in times like that. It's their life. If they asked an opinion I would give it but I wouldn't be handing out orders on stuff like that. My Hawke basically put up his hands and was like 'Hey, it's your family, your decision'.

The only time my Hawke prefers to step in is if the game forces me to choose, or a bad decision will endanger others. (Like, my Hawke kept the tool away from Merrill.)

We discussed this before, but I don't see it as an order- you're imploring him as a friend not to do something in the heat of the moment which (as I saw it) you think he'll regret.

...aaaand, I was Posted Image'ed multiple times over. lol

:D.  I'm in the school's reading room right now cheesing.  That is made of awesome, but I probably shouldn't say that because it's too mainstream.
