elves are not human, their genetic setup is different. And because we dont know much about how their DNA work within the story, Bioware can do whatever the heck they want with our NPC's family members
that's one sad explanation...

Ultipup, I think they just didn't bother with a proper design when it comes to Varania. They dont have to look alike, but Varania just looks like another cookie cutter elf in the Alienage.
Yes, their big huge smiles come with their big huge mouths...>.> They are cute, tho...and they know it. I just wish there was a volume knob for when mommy's feeling grumpy...
I wonder if my mom ever felt that way...I was THE loud kid around (still is) and I was the only one. I had to make up for the sibling that I dont have

I was the quiet one. My sister more than made up for that in conversation, however. She got nicknamed 'motor-mouth' at a young age, and was known to sleep walk/talk to people. She had a full conversation with my grandfather when she was about eight years old...

And I do really want to see it. Fenris and Tiny (Hawke was not creative. At least Rogue!Hawkette. Mage!Hawkette named her dog Cerberus-- more Greek mythology ref. for her, as her name was Briseis).
=Edit=
Do you know what Act it was in?
Act 2. I remember because I went back to the estate and saw Fenris standing with the dog in front of the fire and was like "OH! HI! WHAT'RE YOU DOING HERE? 8D"
I go back to the estate like...after every quest to throw stuff into storage XD; Maybe that's why it triggered?
Weird how so many can't see it, though ))): Will seriously look for some kind of...thing....to trigger it -nods-
Act II, eh? Damn... Male!Rogue!Hawke is too far and....
*Hurls a nuke at Nerezza and her (evil, terrible) puppy Gaiaphage*
What? She was pissing me off.
Now, let's see. What should I name this one? Andromeda, and name the pup Perseus... or Artemis, and name the pup Apollo.
Eh, Fenris might get jealous of Andromeda and Perseus. (I've been feeling like using a lot of Greek myths for naming crap lately... I feel so little-kid like).
Oh! What about Deanna and Sam?! *Goes off into crazy land*
I spent a ridiculous amount of time going in and out of Hawke's mansion in both Act 2 and Act 3 in my last play through.

Guys...I just thought of something, and I'm not sure if it's been discussed before in this thread:
do you think Fenris's silvery white hair is natural? or caused by lyrium?
traumatic events can turn your hair white. the constant pain and torture he got while being Danarius' bodyguard was sufficient to be "traumatic". it may also be the lyrium but i think its more the sheer stress.
judging by his eyebrows, i'd say he would naturally have been dark haired. brown, dark red, or maybe black. i suppose it could be white naturally, but i somehow doubt it.
Agreed, I think his hair is Lyrium white, given that his eyebrows are black. I would love to see a flashback of Fenris with still black hair. ****ing adorable.

I'm still curious about skin tones. The two have vastly different tones, to the point that I question his heritage. Genetics aside, it would be pretty damn weird that Bioware had intentionally made their skin tones vastly different. Why not the same if it wasn't a side effect of the branding?
As a slave, he may have spent a good deal of time in the sun, permanently darkening his skin as a result. Just thinkin.

Fenris was setup to attack whatever the biggest baddie was around... in this case, he was permanently gunning for Meredith. The fight is much shorter if you keep most of the attacks on Meredith... bother to help with taking out the statues and such and things will take longer... afterall they keep coming as long as she's alive.

Why is fenris the only elf in the game whose face is so beautiful? Most of the male elves do not have the same type of strong features, and I'm not sure why. Fenris really does stand out because he is so gorgeous. No other male elf has nearly the same strength of features.
I wouldn't mind the elf redesign if some of the other male elves came anywhere close to how utterly gorgeous Fenris is. And no, Zevran, my dear love Zevran, does not even come close. Though his voice does make up for a lot
And as for Zevran.. ::shudder:: I have to cover my screen with my hand when he comes up. ::wishes for a mod that will allow DA:O models for DA2::
I agree, and I agree. The elves look horrible in general, and Zevran....! Don't even get me started. I was utterly shocked when I saw him. That's my warden's one true love? Really? I don't think so. I have to cover him up too, because the voice was definitely Zevran.
Why, oh why do most of the elves (95 %) look like fish with kitty-kat noses, and huge, huge ears? Who was drinking/smoking what when he/she/they thought that this was a brilliant idea? Blows the whole "humans think elves are beautiful" message of DA:O out the window, at least for me. Lazy and silly, that.
As for the Meredith thing, I didn't see that my first time around. I want to though, and my second playthrough has now landed in act III. I'll definitely look out for that one.
After I reload the "Alone" ending (a few more times). For research purposes. Really. I'mnotlying. Ahem....

I get the feeling I'm the only one who doesn't mind the new designs
That aside, I think if they were going to update Zeveran's look, they should have done a better job. He looked terrible. I wasn't too happy with Alistair's new look, either, but I think Leiliana looked fantastic. I oddly liked Marethari's redesign as well. I really liked the half-elf boy Feynriel's design.
But Zevran made me make these faces (in order):

I thought her hair was more dark brown, mines very dark but when I dye it black there is a great difference. Must be personal opinion though.
Sadly as i am an identical twin I cant compare siblings that well but a lot of my friends have a few who look nothing like them so could be possible anyway?

Also haha when I first heard Fenris had a sister in the super spoiler thread awhile back, I totally thought she'd have dark hair and would look like... an elven version of Bellatrix Black (since she wanted to be a magister) or something, so when I saw that she was a red-head and looked generic I was a bit disappointed. Though it's still understandable on Bioware's part since lol 1-quest npc.

Can Fenris still be romanced in Act 3?
In Act 2, I only flirted with Isabella once(where she comes to my house, so we ended up having sex), afterwards, I broke off flirting with all other companions, but I aggressively flirted with Fenris whenever I got a chance to, even on Act 1.
After doing his Act 2 companion quest where we killed the female mage, he visited me in my house, though I flirted with him again, he didn't kiss my character or anything, just said, "Sorry" when I told him to stay, and he left.
He's on near max rivalry with me, and I did "Questioning Beliefs" quest with him where he told me his past, and still I tried flirting to no avail.
So now...I am in Act 3, and it doesn't look like I am going anywhere with him. Is Fenris still romance-able now?

Unfortunately, no. I managed to (barely) romance Fenris and Anders (though I admit, I had cruel reasons to flirt with Anders...) in a single playthrough, but I've failed when I tried Bella and Fenris. There's a specific way you have to do it and I don't know it

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the Questing Beliefs quest(where I could flirt with him several times) came only after he visited my house. Dammit.
he goes to your house twice.
once at the end of Bitter Pill, and once after Questioning Beliefs (if you flirted with him to the point that he says "another time" ).
If he left during his apology after a bitter pill, its probably because you hadnt already done Questioning Beliefs. But once you HAVE done it, you must visit your estate at night in Act 2 to have him appear. If you have slept with ANYONE ELSE, he will not come on to you at your home. You also cant sleep with anyone else after either. You have to be commited to him or he won't be willing to try.

I agree with you there. Other than that, I dislike the new elf-design very much. Merrill wasn't too bad either, and her and Fenris made a jarring difference to the rest of the elf population. I find most of the other elves ugly, but personal taste is personal taste. Three cheers for individuality.
As for the non-human part, I was pleased that they didn't make Feynriel look human straight up. You can tell that there is something in him that's not really human. And still he looked good, not like a fish with a cat-nose (I know, I know, I'm getting repetitious, lol)
As far as my reaction to Zevran, mine was exactly like that. I was so disappointed, especially because I was so looking forward to seeing him again.

yeah there's the problem then. Fenris is pretty sensitive. If you slept with anyone else prior, he won't let you any closer. I guess he doesnt want to be reduced to a conquest? either way, you'll just need to replay and not sleep with anyone else before Fenris.

Well it's simply time to roleplay into something new then.
Now my Hawke shall be full of vengeance and hate for the world, having been rejected for love by the ones she truly cares about.
Time to switch from a charming/sarcastic rogue into a chaotic evil one!
