Guys, did you see that thread in one of the forums about how Bioware has neglected the straight male demographics in DA2? The whole ordeal is on Joystiq (big gaming blog) now. I reply to the thread a while back, that thread kinda urked me with his straight male oriented mindset and how uncomfortable he is when his mhawke gets hit on by Anders. Ugh
I wonder if the guys who complain about that are the same kind of guys who yell obscene things out of car windows at women...

I'm as straight as they come, but that's not tattooed on my forehead. So yes, I've been on the receiving end of advances from other women a few times, but all it needed was a "no, thank you, I'm not interested." and all was well. I've never even gave it a second thought, led alone brood about it, or let it bother me in any way, shape, or form.

How can it be that:
"Having to click an option with a HEART on it" = "being hit"?
Their mHawke isn't being hit if they don't click the heart. There's nothing homosexual if they don't select that option. They're not special for getting that option nor are doing anything special to get the heart there.
Geez.

I think I came across one or two of those threads the other day. It annoyed the heck out of me, especially since it seemed there was a bit to much being said without any real backing up.
-shakes head- There will always be people who just can't accept that things aren't catered for them specifically.

"Bioware should have said that they made all LI's bisexual, I wouldnt have paid $40 if I knew that" saying how people shouldnt play for having bisexual tendencies in a medium.
another was like how he couldnt play due to him knowing that someone else would be romancing the male LI's as a male hawke,
Why would you even think about that?! A lot of them have some issues.

Yes, science and psychology are great when it comes to idiot males who can't realize just how queer they really are.

Still love her teasing Alistair about the 'swaying hips'. http://www.youtube.c...u/7/ymVOpK01OjY
I would LOVE some of that for Hawke's love interests in 2...
In other news, I got Fenris's dialogue for 'The Long Road'. ROFLMAO "She wants you. It's pathetic...and admirable."
What? Where? How? Who?
And... Doesn't Merril make a similar comment when she starts saying that Fenris is in love and stuff like that?

The gaming industry is already testosterone focused that it really annoys me when one little thing does not go with their straight male mentality. Seriously, it's not like the companions are gay, they're only that way if you play it that way. You can turn them down, you don't have to flirt.
And I didnt complain when ME2 gave the manly men Miranda, the perfect woman with that hot sex scene inthe engine room. Hell, there's even Jack. We girls got aliens. Aliens. I mean I like Thane and Garrus just fine, but you see my point. I think in the thread they even said something about te whole metro elf thing, which again, I thought why would it matter? Romance is such a mini plot and it's missable if that's what you want.
Those straight males with homophobic tendencies needs to just get over it.

Yes, exactly. I'm straight, but I've also been hit on by bi women. If I actually notice(I can be kinda dense when it comes to that), I usually thank them for the compliment, but inform them I am straight. I usually get pouts at that.cinderburster wrote...

Well actually, Anders will hit on Hawke if you don't choose any of thoseoptions. I can understand why some guys might feel a bit uncomfortable, but it's still not worth making a big issue out of it. You tell him you're not interested, get a few rivalry points, and move on. I've heard some saying they feel "forced" and that's absolutely bull****. They're no more forced than they would be in the real world if a gay man took a fancy to them and decided to test the waters. <_<

Yes, I agree.
Hmm I just noticed that Anders comments a whole lot during the "All that remains" quest. I wonder if Fenris has any comments there is Anders isn't in the party ... Can't bother playing through it again just to check though...

Fenris. I adore Thane, but he lacks The Smirk and The Eyebrow. And the snarky comments with Varric.ZombieGeisha wrote...

I say Fenris but only because he's the most human looking. I romanced Thane in an ME2 playthrough and he's great and all but the fact remains that he looks like a frog.

I always got the picture, at least for the friendmance, that they are still together and expressively NOT sleeping with each other. As if.. Its to early for me to think and I'm not going to explain this right..
In those three years, they've both, probably individually since they don't talk about that night, have decided that there really is just no one else in the whole of Thedas for either of them but each other. There even could have been a 'There's no body else I want, so if I can't fully have you, then knowing that I love you is going to just have to be enough.' conversation. Can you imagine the romance novel implications?
Trying not to kiss and touch him, but being oh-so-close and knowing he feels the same way about you.. never letting yourself be alone in a room with him for fear of that unspoken passion exploding? eh eh? *fans self*
Varric: Great game, Hawke. When did you get so good at cards?
Hawke: Isabela's been teaching me. I've got the sinking suspicion she's trying to sleep with me..
Fenris abruptly stands, dropping his cards to the table. Hawke glances up at him, the emotion in her eyes not quite reachign the rest of her face.
Fenris: Yes, well. Good night.
Varric: Hawke, you should walk the elf home. Its late and you don't know who'll try and assault him. All that broody squatting has earned him quite the fanclub with the noble teenaged girls. *chuckles and winks*
Hawke*quietly seething*: Alright..
Utterly silent walk home, standing far enough apart so they can't accidentally touch. Nom nom sexual tention I need to break out word and write this ..
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Reading this and the great story on your blog made me so happy and smile like a baby and giggle like a school girl xD And Fenris... he just makes me swoon <3
