Yes, I agree.

Hmm I just noticed that Anders comments a whole lot during the "All that remains" quest. I wonder if Fenris has any comments there is Anders isn't in the party ... Can't bother playing through it again just to check though...

He does.  I cannot stand what Anders says when you walk into the foundry.  Fenris is better there.  He just reminds you that that was where you found whatsherfaces hand.

Edit: Honestly, it makes less sense to me that Hawke would flirt with Zevran just after making up with Fenris.  After all, she's been waiting 3 years for him to come around -- why risk blowing it by flirting with this guy?

How can you not flirt with Zevran?  Posted Image  I just don't think about it too much.  I figure an unattached Zevran would hit on her anyway, and it's way too hot seeing the two sexy elves chest-pushing over your PC.

Arrrrgh, that's indeed a very difficult question... but I guess... it's still Thane for me! Thane touched my heart and made me cry and I can't bear the thought that Bioware might not give us a cure in ME3 :crying:

But I also adore Fenris, I guess I have a crush on him. His lyrium markings and his puppy eyes are.... nnghgngngg... hotness!!!

Say, ejoslin... if we ever get the updated toolset, how hard would it be to make Fenris cutscenes (like one when entering the chantry to accuse the grandcleric) and comments take priority over other companions, or have all of them play instead of randomly picking between the companions?

I played through the whole quest with only Fenris and Dog in tow and he has very little to say.  There is the comment when you enter the foundry, and the one at the shrine which you usually get even with others in the party, and that's about it.  Nothing special with Gascard or when you find Leandra.

He better get a cure or I'll cry.

It's both of their voices *fans self*

deep and mysterious, yumm.

I want more DLC with Fenris or more Fanfics.

I still got to finish mine, so hard now I've played the game I want to change it all.

Damn

If it's anything like DAO's toolset, it's just a matter of tracking them down and switching order.  I actually do that for quite a few of Zevran's dialogs (though not a part of ZDF unless it really is appropriate -- like the city elf returning to the alienage I fixed so it no longer defaults to Alistair and instead goes to the love interest).

I'm hoping a toolset is released.  I'd like to add a few things if it's not too cumbersome.  I definitely want the opportunity to fix bugs if the devs don't fix them.  I AM optimistic that more bugs will be fixed in DA2 than in DAO.  It seems they are actively working on several of them.

Ah, it's true he doesn't have much to say, but he does have some.  Anders bugs me so much when you walk in and he's all "bag of bones" and such.  It's like, hey ****, remember why we're here?

I've a quick question. Does Fenris make any kind of referrence to the fact if Hawke is a mage after the conclusion of "Alone"?

I mean, he is sort if in a "I love you forever" relationship with a mage at that point.

I do remember a banter between him and Anders, where Fenris states that he thinks "Bethany is a strong mage." Anders replies "Oh, and I'm not?" Fenris replies (of course) with a resounding "No."

Is there anything for Hawke mage? Any comment at all?

I'm pretty sure "Hawke" is substituted for "Bethany" in that bit of party banter, at the very least.

Yeah I agree... not very tactfull of Anders there. Drat ... now I feel like i have to try and play through that quest again just to record it with Fenris being the one that says stuff... Which means I need to figure out what configuration of party would work to get Fenris commenting...

That particular conversation, yes.  He says, "Hawke, for instance, is strong."  But no, after Alone, he says nothing about Hawke being a mage.  There are some conversations where you can bring it up.

I'm not sure about anything after "alone", but when he's telling Hawke about his time with the fog warriors, at the end toast I have got a mage-comment. Something along the lines of

Fenris:*raises bottle* To Hawke. A finer mage I've never met.

For as much as Anders lacks tact in that quest, Fenris makes a rather rude comment later(rude to me, at least). He and Anders are bickering again, and Fenris tells him to ask Hawke about how Leandra died, to make a point. I wanted to turn and smack him. Leave Hawke and mamaHawke out of this, boys. Ah, thanks. I was hoping that something was said, because his comments against magic and mages are very angry and powerful. It would be strange if he had nothing at all to say about his love being a mage.

Besides, he better gets used to it. Seeing as how magic seems to run in his genes as well (sister), the odds that there'll be no mage kids that he'll have to hide from the templars are not very high. Oh the irony of all that. Poor Fenris.:P

Fenris is pretty quiet, hence why to see his commentary you almost have to have just him in the party.  But you do get his foundry and shrine comments with others in the party, and as I said up above, it's not really worth the effort.  I was going to record them and there just wasn't much to record so I didn't bother.

Good to know. Maybe I will just skip that then. I really love AND hate that quest. I love it because it really has a big emotinal impact on the character and the story. I hate it for the very same reasons. XD

That's why I asked :) Your Zevran mods along with charsen's made Origins a ton more enjoyable for me :). As did improved atmosphere mod that made all random companion comments play in new areas instead of just one out of 3. I'd kill for that in DA2 :P.

I'm contemplating doing a playthrough with just Fenris and the dog in tow, just to hear all of his comments, but it feels so wrong to leave Varrick out during the keyquests :/. I miss the lovable dwarf :P If it was possible to have both of their voices during the game well... :)

Hrm, do I understand correctly that current toolset can open up DA2 files and scripts but just can't recompile them? Maybe some folks would come up with a gibbed script compiler sometime if the toolset is not to be... though I am optimistic that they'll release it eventually.

And yes! I am also optimistic that they are working on the bugs. Mary Kirby's response to the friendly concerns thread made me want to hug her :)

As a mage , he sees you as a strong one.
After the "alone" quest , you can chat a bit with him about magic.
And he basically tells you , that hawke as a mage is A ok , but that magic ruins her life and that she should still fear other mages ^^.
It seems like he don't want to argue about magic with mage hawke ,he just want to be with her :D

Gosh, you guys are fast posters ;)

That's a shame then, really. The way he goes on and on about hating mages, every mage is a potential menace, magic taints everything it touches, it would be nice to have him comment about the love of his life being exactly that which he thought he hates the most in this world: a mage.

Bummer.

I think it's in act 2 where he says something like "you are strong, Hawke, but not every mage is- and I do not look forward to the day when you find this out."  I can't remember what conversation that's in, but I think it's after Hadriana.

It's worth taking Varric if you have Gascard with you, and Merrill has a nice line when you find Leandra.
