Aye, that is hard sometimes. Getting the idea to fit with the story as a whole.
I think my current problem is overloading myself with ideas. I have several potential pieces of the story to write, but none of them are flowing very well when I try to start on them.
I have one that I'm well on my way with as in some 700 or so words into it. But I am having issues with getting the scene to work when Fenris arrive, so thought I woul give it a rest...
The other ideas however ... well I can't quite manage to get that first gear into them... meaning they just end up getting a few scentances that I write and rewrite over and over.... -.-

The room Fenris stands in. Umm... that's gonna suck if it's going to start raining-- there are holes in the ceiling... and you can see the sky...
Oh I dunno, I can see some merit in a glistening, wet, raindrenched Fenris...

I can't even write ones under 1000 words most of the time (I'll keep writing, even if the story meanders off track). I think my current record length was over 90,000 words. I was amazed that I managed to finish it. Half the time, my fics get to a certain length and end violent and abrupt deaths...>.>; Average for me is probably between 30-50,000. One shots are relatively rare...

Oh my, yes ... it does sound impossible for me to reach that.
As I work right now I write scenes I feel for and then try to string them together to a bigger story. I also have a hard time with my own writing living up to my expectations, meaning I spend most of the time trying to get the phrases an the moods right. If I really focused on dialouges I migth be bale to start splurging out words - but I'm more amused by letting the scenes speak more then the characters. which works great with Fenris XD
Might post up what I have of this ... and mention its a work in progress... maybe someone elses eyes can spot why I can't get the dang moment to work out for me...

It then goes like this:
Fenris: "So I assume you were friends once."
Varrick: "Friends? No. He was as insuferable as ever." (not word for word, but close)
Fenris: "And yet you remained by his side."
Varrick: "Too bad he didn't do the same." (<---this line... it kinda sounds like there is a mild reproach laced with resignation)
Thing is. If this happens post bitter pill quest. It kinda can be read with double meaning of Varrick reproaching the elf for walking away.
I'm sure this wasn't the writers intent, but hey. Fangirl. Grasping at strings.

I'm probably reading too much into it. But in act 2 Varrick and Fenris have this banter about Bartrand, that Fenris initiates by saying "So you have found your brother."

Well, we don't know if licking his lyrium markings wouldn't have the same effect as licking Thane, especially if you're a mage. It is lyrium.
Anders: Hawke?
Hawke: Do you have a moment to talk?
Anders: Actually, I wanted to talk, medical matters.
Hawke: Right now?
Anders; Yes, right now. Now I understand that life as the Champion of Kirkwall is stressful. Different people deal with stress in different ways.
Hawke: I can see where this is going. Did Isabela put you up to this?
Anders: I am shocked that you would think that. What sort of healer would I be if I went around talking about my patients behind their backs?
Hawke: Alright, enough beating around the bush, out with it.
Anders: Right, so lyrium as you know can be dangerous in even small amounts. So when you and that mad elf of yours...well you know...don't ingest.
Hawke: If you wern't the only healer I knew I'd kill you right now. (walks out of the clinic)
Anders: (sighs) I know (Isabela walks out from behind a curtain) There you go, are you happy now?
Isabela: (laughing) The look on her face, priceless. Remind me to beat you in Wicked Grace more often.
BRILLIANT! JUst effing BRILLIANT!

I made a little gift for everyone. My last playthrough as a female warrior I did the friendship romance with Fenris and recorded video of all of their dialogue in quests, etc. Then I strung it all together so you can watch it like a movie.
Enjoy!
