Totally given the context.  Plus that gave him time to be a creeper in her dresser drawers too.

LOL He was too busy brooding to raid panties.

Maybe he was trying to raid for panties and found the scarf instead    He was probably brooding while he was doing it and didn't even realize

I'm not going to lie.  I really want art of Fenris going through Hawke's belongings and looking for the favor to tie about his wrist.

I need this in my life so badly.

I saw a comic for this... but I can't find it now.  D:
MUST FIND.

So instead, I'm just going to share this, because I saw it on SIB and IDNB over at LJ and it's too funny not to share.  Done by honorableshadow

Shirtless Fenris and seeing that drawer-lurking-moment comic must be in my life too.

I like to think that Fenris actually asked her for the scarf and didn't just walk out with it. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a lady's favor if you steal it from her.

Sad thing is, I know that the only way I'll ever try other romances is if I skip bait and switch on purpose.

That is a nice thought and it does defeat the purpose of a favor if you don't ask for it.  I'm just not sure where that conversation fits in in between sexy wall and broody fireplace times.

It's possible he doesn't ask and she just gives it to him...

For me this happens on every DAO playthrough with Zev - every character I play ends up with him

After some glowy lovin' he could have asked her for the scarf and then had his memory relapse after they went to sleep.  It's just too awkward for me to imagine him leaving with her scarf and then her seeing him wear it all the time without knowing what it means.

I love LJ.  It's my other place to get Bioware news and what not.  Been on it for like 11 years now.  But, you've reminded me, I don't even know if I advertised it here on the Official Thread.

If anyone is interested and has a livejournal, I've started a Fenris Comm
i_do_not_brood

We're up to over 200 members now, and growing, so if you want to share the Fenris love beyond BSN, come and join ^.^

Aaaand if I've already advertised here.... 10,000 apologies.  I am a bit scatter brained sometimes -.-

Hello, Fenris thread! I finished my initial DA2 run the other day - did a Fenris rivalmance with my mage Fem!Hawke. It was great. I thought he was an awesome character, but I just wondere dif the people in this thread could shed some light on something that's been bugging me: What was Fenris' point?

By that I mean, in the narrative. The other characters have fairly clear narrative roles: Varric is the narrator, Aveline is closely connected to the heads of state through the guard, Isabela is tied to the Qunari, Anders... yeah, I think we all know. But I just can't work out what Fenris' point in the plot was. He was an awesome character and I loved him, but I can't shake the feeling that if I hadn't recruited him I'd have missed absolutely nothing of the plot. Isabela, the other 'optional' character in the default game, had a pretty major role in Act 2's climax, but I can't work out why Fenris was in the game. I'm hoping the people here who probably have more detailed thoughts on him will be able to shed some light, or at least some informed opinions. Did I just miss some really crucial scene?

I think Fenris was meant to give you some perspective on the mages vs. templar issue. He comes from a place where mages do have the freedom they are seeking and consequences are horrifying. I started out very sympathetic to mages. His story along with the unusual number of blood mages in Kirkwall went a long way towards changing my mind.

I've heard someone else say that too, and what I think is that he serves as a counterbalance to really drive home the "mages are bad" point. Without him, you wouldn't really see as much of that, within your party at least.

Same here! I kinda knew from the begining that I'm going to fall head over heels for Fenris so I thought I'll do Anders the first time around just so I could say I tried other romances...Well didn't get far with that plan. As soon as Fenris went down those stairs and opened his lips I was lost for goodPosted Image Now all my Hawkes end up with him so the only way to try the others would be to avoid his recruitment quest....Oh Maker! Can't resist!

Elenilote: Yup. In DaO it's always Zev for me too. And I played Alistair heartbreaking romance with the mage first. Loved it to pieces, but once you go Zev... heee. Well, matter of personal taste, anyway.

Eudaemonium: I think the general consensus is that his role is a counterweight to a rather popular tendency to sympathize with the mages :P.

I'll probably romance the others...eventually.  The closest I've gotten was some 'girl time' with Isabella...which pwned my Fenrismance so I reloaded and tried again.  After twice unsuccessfully attempting to romance them both, I gave up and went back to the elf...

I think he adds character to the story.  You get to hear first hand the horrors of living in Tevinter as a slave.  You heard about the downside of mages and why maybe there is good reason for the circle.

DAO had a few companions that were not plot essential (Zevran, Leliana, Sten, Wynne, Dog).  But having them added much to the story anyway.  But their presense, what they had to say, could influence the warden anyway.  I think that actually Fenris provided more background to the plot (as to why mages were so feared) than the optional companions in DAO.

Still, DAO would not be DAO to me without Zevran :)  So while Fenris may not be an integral part of the plot, he adds much to the story.

Hmmm. I thought that was probably the case. I guess, it just seemed like a rather weak point given the role some of the other characters had. It also seemed that the game itself does a fairly good job of hammering that home without needing someone in your party: the amount of crazy blood mages and abominations that were in Kirkwall kind of spoke for themselves. And the utter tragedy of both Anders and Merrill.

I agree. I just remember reading a comment by David Gaider before the game came out that all of teh characters had a kind of plot hook, and was left at the end wonderign what Fenris' was other than to make us beware of the dangers of mages and mage freedom. He certainly did flesh out the story though with his personal experiences, and perhaps that was enough. I just wondered if I'd missed something.

Yeah i still sided with the mages ,and kind of forgive the whole craziness among kirkwall magi because there's something wrong with the veil here that drive mages nuts.
Plus Meredith is not really a saint.
So you can find out reason for the whole situation to be so bad.

Now , when you talk with fenris about the actual Tevinter Imperium , you get an insight on a country where not only mages are free but rule ...and it's not a solution either.
Except like he says if you're not bothered by "owning a few slaves and the blood rituals"...

So all of this made my character believe mages can't rule and use their powers as they see fit.
But the circle , as it is , is too harsh .Mages should be checked but free to have famillies etc..
They're not dangerous animals .

I think Fenris' counterbalance to Anders' fanaticism is actually just another way to drive this point home:

The system is broken. It can't be fixed. The world needs a reset.

The situation in Tevinter is the reaction to what the Chantry is doing. They get away with it because it's just so far away. Add the Qun into the whole mix and you have the rumblings and brewings of a pretty world altering storyline... for DA3.
