Trying to get my pup to contribute his big brown eyes for cinematic impact - and being totally ignored. Working on it...

I'm interested if Fenris' history as a slave has put in a place where he may not know how to function in the real world a part from his status as a weapon. Like, being unable to talk very much or having a deep anti-social streak, like a breed between Sten and Morrigan.
Jeez. I wonder if that poor boy is even literate.
I have been wondering the same thing. If he has been kept in isolation and for how long. How was he like before?

Omigosh. That would be so adorable if Hawke taught Fenris to read (possibly again).

So wouldn't he be learning a different language anyway?

I'm also sort of interested what characters or people influenced his overall personality when Gaider penned him. You learn more about a character based on the things that created them.
Well, he's a little like Valen in some respects. I wanted to have a more stoic character, and never really got the opportunity to explore that fully with Valen.
Beyond that there are a couple of characters that I was inspired by, but I'd hesitate to mention them simply because people read way too much into that. Some folks who hear "inspired by" read it as "is an exact copy of" and that's nothing of the sort. The parts of a character that I find interesting and inspiring might seem entirely incidental to someone else, and regardless of my inspiration the character I wrote may have ended up somewhere else anyhow (as with Zevran and his "Spike of Buffy" inspiration).

And while I understand Gaider is highly unlikely to reveal any new information after the tails of his last post concerning the marks, I imagine he is still amused by the posts of thirsty fangirls.
Another vein of speculation - Do the tattoos glow at night? Can you imagine Varric standing next to Fenris just to read a book, much to the elf's chagrin?

I understand. I've never played Never Winter, so my question was more along the lines of books since I'm more familiar with that medium.
Thank you for the answer

But I'm sure she could pick up a language relatively quickly, since it takes over a period of ten years.

Nobody did anything wrong. If the talk gets a little blue, however, I'm bound to bow out. There's only so much I can take of that-- no offense.

Don't be upset. It was just enthusiasm on their part, I think they are very regretful for their actions.

The common language is called King's Tongue. It's mentioned in The Stolen Throne or The Calling, I can't remember which.
