Does anyone have a link to a video of what happens when you spare her? I killed her in my game and haven't got a conveniently-placed savegame to check it out.

1 2 3

Varania = Sidonis to me. I'll always save her, not because she deserves it, but because I don't want him to ever regret it.

I think with Sims I'm not so much a control freak as I am a voyeur.  I like to watch their little pixel lives and breed them and see what shenanigans they get up to on free will.  Portal is because of the great writing, amazing aesthetics, and challenging puzzles.  The others are rather random in terms of gaming preference.  It's cool that several others of you play Sims.  A friend said she encountered a fellow GoSling around these parts.

Let's see...topic...Fenris...sorry, brain took a vacation contemplating him again.

*must be strong*... bloody detox! I must try this killing Varania business on my next playthrough, I also need to trigger Zev/Nate/Leliana cameos - didnt manage any of them the first time round!

Oh God just tried giving Fenris up to Danarius.
I nearly cried. Also, the letter Danarius sends to you after that... I will never, ever be able to do this again. Not even on my evil jerk!Hawke runthrough.

@inzhuna *pat pat* thanks for taking one for the team babe, but maybe you should reload an earlier save and replay to get better? :)

I already replayed, of course. NO WAY I am keeping things that way.

I just tried giving up Fenris. Couldn't keep on afterwards of course (he's my main damage-dealer), but it was a really great scene. I love the way they do faces in DA2, it really does convey emotions.

I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get any rivalry from Isabela for it, though ... she barely even protested.

I can't speak for the rest of the fandom, but I have two reasons:

1) Fenris uses manly towering-over-you-techniques more than once in the game, who am I to deny that of him in fanarts? Seriously, take note, somehow he always manages to seem like he's looking at Hawke from above.

2) In my head, rogue/mage Hawke is on the lithe side, whereas my warrior!Hawke, if I had one, would be of completely different size.

Funny that, today I've seen several Fenarts where Fenris was shorter/smaller than Hawke, both female and male Hawkes.

Fenris should be slight-built - as elves are wont to - and at least a bit shorter than Hawke (male or female).

I dunno about shorter then my female Hawke, I actually see him being about her size. He does look smaller when you walk around but then he is hunched over and barefoot where everyone else walks straighter and has boots on. xD

He should definantly be build leaner then Hawke, even if he probably is in pretty good shape compared to the everyday alienage elves you meet in the game. But compared to Hawke and other Humans he definantly should be build morr narrow over hip and shoulder...

-is firm on the fact that her Hawke and Fenris looks about the same size-

Elves in DA2 are taller than they are in DAO.  They are now the same height as humans, actually, though slighter in build.  Fenris may look a little shorter than most male leves because of his posture, but he's definitely taller than femHawke.  I think male elves are broader in the shoulder than female humans, but definitely narrower in the hip (hah, like me and my husband actually).

@Taura-Tierno I'm pretty sure all companions except Anders give rivalry for that. Maybe Isabela is already maxed out on your playthrough?

It's the way Fenris gives up without a fight. And how he doesn't even get angry at Hawke. He pleads with him/her, begs to not abandon him. And then you get the letter that Danarius wiped his memories. Again. And Fenris is 'back to his obedient self'.

Heart. Broken.

It is really hard to tell Fenris' height because of his posture. My mother would be telling him to stand up straight! :P

Dear... Gawd... I... I have no words for how much stronger you are than me, for choosing this option. Really taking one for the team. I couldn't do it, no. No. Nono.

I tried that once with a Rivalmance Fenris. Never again.Posted Image The letter made me feel sick and what he says...

Fenris: Hawke I know we're not exactly friends, but I need you.

That's not word for word, but it's mostly correct and the way he just gives himself in... I repeat. Never. Again.Posted Image

BTW, video games I play Jade Empire, ME1&2, DA:O and 2, Portal, Bioshock 1&2, Dead Space 1&2, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Assassin's Creed 1,2,&Brotherhood, Oblivion, Red Dead Revolver & Redemption, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and more that I can't write down right now because I'm late for work, but wanted to catch up with the thread.
