Ah, that's why I never got it. lol. I tried to kill the dragon like six times and gave up on that quest.

I had it on Casual for that, but it also helps to have a mage with Arcane Shield covering the party and some fire resistance runes.  I brought Anders, had him running the shield and Panacea.  It takes a while but it goes much more smoothly that way.

Oh, uh... Fenris...

Merrill's blood magic is strong, indeed.

Ah who am I kidding she's just irresistible.  :)

... Did it take anyone else a little while to warm up to his voice? When he starts out with "turn and face the tiger" I still want to stuff my head into a paper bag. I've kind of gotten used to it, though.

Such a deep voice coming from such a tiny person...

Not me, I loved his voice when I first heard it. I wasn't expecting it to be so deep either when I first saw pictures of him, but I much prefer it as is.

I like to think my Rogue Hawke talks and acts like Bayonetta.

His voice is one of the things we love most here @ BSN.  It's auditory erotica as far as I'm concerned.  I could listen to Fenris (or just Gideon Emery) talk allllll day.  Kudos to the casting director/team for that one!

Besides, he's not small, he's just...lanky.  And Izzy said it best "I like lanky."

Indeed it is.  I believe the phrases I've heard most are 'Panty melting' and 'Aural porn'

Hi! I feel your pain about backreading, I don't even bother most of the time.

Basically anything you do when you first meet him as a mage will get you rivalry. To increase his rivalry make pro-mage comments and/or pro-slaver comments. And you really don't have to be strictly one or the other either, you could be say, pro-apostate but anti-blood mage, just don't take him on quests were you are harder on mages. Once you get him far enough along it's easier to get rivalry just from certain responses in dialogue.

Thanks so much :D I figured being a mage would earn...anti-brownie points. Figure it'd be the easiest path to rival romance :) It looks like this will require planning(it will. it totally will.)....and much "to take or not to take!", hehehe.

The HawkexFenris scene is going to be imagined, from now on, in a far less serious way. Posted Image

Personally the voice work in this game is great. I was actually happy when they let Cullen stay the same and changed Anders. Over time Victoria Kruger won me over with some of her banters. Now all I'll ever hear for Merrill will be Eve Miles. Leske's voice becomes the God that is Varric.

Fenris is able to walk this fine line of tense and collected. Besides the rare times when he goes postal of course. Both Hawkes are great to I think. Though having the voice of Vaughan as the male PC took a while for me to get over.

I think I got distracted my thoughts of 'must play DAO again for that other sexy elf' thoughts. Or perhaps they were 'must play FF12 again for the voice' thoughts. Of perhaps my mind is just bored with replaying 'mmm Fenris'.

@ Torax.

Oh, dear...motivation for making a male Hawke is lowered >_<

Now, on to Fenris's awesomeness. I actually didn't notice his puppy eyes (...I'm a bad Fengirl...) until Act 3, right before his Alone quest...when he's asking Hawke if they can go see his sister and he's all "-puppy eyes- it would mean a lot to me."
...May or may not have had a fangirl attack. May or may not have said, "awwwh, well, okay then ^^" out loud. May or may not be RUSHING through my current PC playthrough to see that bit again. XD

Random advice: rivalry points on occasion aren't too obvious. Doing a kindness to Thrask (I think that's the name of the templar?) when you learn his daughter was an apostate by saying that you won't drag her name through dirt while her ashes aren't cold yet will get you rivalry.

Also, I notice when going after Feynriel, if you don't attack the slavers on sight for fear of the boy's life (even if you plan on killing them eventually ) you'll get "Why are we even talking! Kill them!" line and a rivalry hit. Just don't let Varrick do his bull****ting, which while hilarious doesn't earn you rivalry with Fenris if I remember correctly (I may remember wrong :P )
