O , I just did the apology again at end Of Fenris' questioning beliefs quest. I was full friendshipmance, and not once does he mention staying out of feeling of debt etc etc. It was kinda touching after just getting the same scene as a rivalmanced Mage.
Anyone else confirm this?

Edit, I meant   the   debt   scene  Ejoslin  referred to ,  the  rivalmance  mage  just  recieved.

I never said that Fenris said this or that it was a scene -- I said that this is what his codex says (the text write up on him in the journal).  And it does.

his apology is seriously sweet for both a friend and a rival.

Edit: Actually, I'm going to bow out of this conversation now.  I obviously am NOT making myself clear, and it gets frustrating when I realize I am communicating THIS poorly!  However, it does make for an interesting conversation.

Second edit: It's too bad that is his last codex.  It seems like it needs one more update...

You do make sense, sad as I am to admit it. The only explanation I can think of is what others have said - Hawke triggers emotions, he more or less avoids her, justifies his hanging around as a debt (and why should anyone believe otherwise? The Codex entries for the companions are, after all, everything Hawke knows until that point... they're not entirely objective... he's not known for his gushiness), along with everything else eating away at him until he finally writes to his sister.

I agree the pacing of the banter is a bit off, but this is the best justification I can think of for it. But I personally hate letting things like that bother me, since I can't change them, so I make do with what's there. It's not ideal, and Hawke doesn't change much, but it is what it is, I guess. :)

Could you write it here? Or even msg it to me? I was a little </3 when he was all flirty in act 3, my Warden had romanced him :<

Also, how do you trigger the jealousy dialogue? o0

edit: double post, sorry!
Or, not quite, but that doesn't matter 8D;

Aroihkin linked them, then Payroo quoted the links in this thread (feel free to bump my whinefest there ;D).  But I can now confirm that it definitely shows up with the import flags fixed.  Too bad with those flags fixed Zevran thinks the warden is dead no matter what so will turn down Isabela because he's in mourning, but is still willing to get with Hawke (he isn't supposed to with a romanced Warden).  Ah well, hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Edit: Gah, actually, here's the link.  This is just the first one -- it has the part where the warden is referenced.  The links to both parts are at the link I have above.

XD;
I'm sort of surprised he's known to've helped defeat the blight. For some reason I always imagined him being 'convientently forgotten'. Becuase he's... ~Zevran~ , I don't know if that makes any sense.
Or maybe I just like to mess with him.

Zevran> You...have not heard of me? Surely you jest, my good woman. My name must be at the forefront of any telling of the Warden's tale. Zevran, the dashing elven assassin.
Kallian> [mechanically] Who's good looks and charm /swept/ The Warden off her feet, after she oh-so-graciously spared his life. What followed was a whirlwind of passion, and a little angst, as he realised he'd fallen in love. Ecetera, ecetera, ecetera.
Zevran> You wound me, love. :<
Kallian> I'll do more than that if you tell that damn story again.
Zevran> >83

And I'll stop being ridiculous now :wizard:

eta: And yea, my Warden has the defualt city elf name, I liked it for some reason. It...flows. Like a song.

I guess it depends on the person.  I could see both Fenris and Hawke remaining very close friends with that kind of passionate undercurrent that's never really satisfied.  (S)he does have a little reading to teach, after all. I don't think the emotional closeness dies, even if they're not physically intimate.

First time poster, but I just wanted to come out of lurking to say that I agree with this. There just seems to be more passion between them, even if they don't continue the relationship.

Me too.  I don't have any trouble with the 3 year gap, but I have long crushes.  I don't care to elaborate. lol

You can see it any way you want, I think.  He obviously carries a long torch for Hawke, but Hawke doesn't have to reciprocate.  Maybe she moved on but when the moment came around, she decided to go for it again.  Maybe she moved on for real and Anders has got his feet up on the coffee table.  It's however you decide to play it.

Hi Addai!

I would wait any amount of time for Fenris, if it meant that I would eventually get to be with him.

Agreed.

This gives the player (your Hawke) the opportunity to make it a more 'real' approach or a Fentastic approach. Which decidedly enough...the latter appeals more to me but may not to some. And truth be told the romantic approaches are both real in a fashion. Carrying love for so long can happen and isn't a fantasy entirely. Sure there are plot holes, what games do not have them? Name one and I will say 'touche' to you and give you a nice fresh fish.

Someone quite a few pages back asked for a sketch of a tattooed back...and while this might not really be all that great, it inspired me, so I did a quick rough.

Thoughts?

Best part is, I have it done in such a way I can strip back the layers and redo the design entirely. It makes for some fun time wasting.

I was actually using it as a loose guideline. It seemed pretty cool. Might try some other desgins though. Might finish it entirely too. I like the look of sketchy drawings though, so dunno. :)

Glad you like it. I'm somewhat self conscious about displaying my work.

That is so cool, like really, thank you. You made it look so awesome. I agree, I like the dots.

I like the sketchiness too, actually. But I always like sketchy things.

And don't be, it looks really good :o

So...everyone know the final confession scene, right? In the Friend-romance version, instead of Aveline and Varric, I got Issie inviting Fenris to her ship, and the Tevinter elf said she and her 'imaginary ship'.

Anyone got that version? To be honest I didn't expect that version, I am very surprised!

I has made Fenfic. It's...angsty. And short. I'd like to do a bunch of these little ones to help fill in some of the time gaps. Hope you enjoy! It's rated M only because I know I will probably add not so PG-13 stuff to later chapters, but this chapter is totally a PG.

I guess I'm more of a hardass than a lot of people (hah, that is NOT necessarily a good thing). And the REALLY strange thing is I knew my husband for 3 years before we actually started dating, despite having an amazing makeout session somewhere in there. I think the difference is, we actually dated other people and all -- when we finally DID get together, most people expected it, but... I dunno. 3 years is a LONG time.

And I still have issues with some of the dialog... but that's a whole different issue ;)

Can't you just picture your Hawke going on dates during those 3 years but not finding anyone? I mean, Kirkwall doesn't appear to be crawling with eligible men. Sane ones, anyway. lol

Ooh, that saucy minx!  So when she's at his house in act 2 or whenever that is, she really is trying to move on him.

Hah, I can picture Hawke and Fenris dating each other in that period, just having that HUGE unspoken thing between them.  That's how I reconcile the dialog in act 3.  They're seeing each other, but not admitting it to even themselves ;)  But everyone around them knows.
