Gideon Emery didn't play Tamlen. Maybe then I might have known what my Mahariel saw in him.

I think you might have meant Taliesen?

Yus, Taliesen is who I meant. Guess I need to stop playing as a Dalish elf. :pinched:

I don't think Fenris is the singing type.  ;)  For that I am glad.  While Gideon Emery has a wonderful voice, the thought of Fenris bursting out into song would so kill it for me.  haha

Didn't have to be anything happy. Could be VERY broody. Hawke also could've just walked in on him singing to himself, or humming. Humming works too...

I sound silly now.

Hey um, I actually have a game related question.

I wanted to get my hands on Awakening so I could finally play it, but its not stocked ANYWHERE around here. And I have Origins, so I dont want to buy the ultimate collection. Er but yeah, anyhow- in lieu of no Awakenings I was planing to go back through DA2 over the weekend, and for once trying the rouge out (I usually stick warrior for all playthroughs, massive pools of health always make me feel better. Hate dying XD).

Was wondering if anyone had any pointers for build ups/party? Fenris is going to be a must, of course, as a dps/tank. And also figuring on going pro-templar so trying not to be too dependant on Anders for healing so when it comes to murder knife I can get it over with.

Anyhow yeah- suggestions anyone?

Rogues, keep the cunning high for locks etc, I personally go with archer so i stay with mage whilst two warriors tank. I then mix stuns with other things, I cant for the name of me remember what the specialities are called but smoke bomb etc is good and the one where you can disappear. I'm useless:o

@Katilina, rogues are not squishy, it's just a different mindset. You can't stand there and let someone wail on you- for long, at least. But enemies get dead a lot faster. Do anything you can do to boost critical chance, with some defense buffs. I was worried about going into the Deep Roads with two rogues and two mages (wanted Bethany to become a Warden so it had to be my rogue archer, Varric, Anders and Beth)... well, we destroyed everything. It was the easiest rock wraith fight yet. My PC had assassin plus high cunning and some dex, and she kept the rock wraith so debuffed that it took very little to destroy him. AoE attacks took care of the profanes.

Chameleon's Breath is the smoke bomb, and you're probably thinking of Stealth.  Posted Image  Miasma Flask is a stun attack.  I think the upgraded Evade (where you do a backflip away from enemies) will also stun.

I am loving the new assassin spec.  Really, really useful.  I took Duelist as a second but mainly for the +5% critical chance.

@ ZombieGeisha: Never thought about archer, figured I'd have to go dual daggers. I got too used to how it worked in DA:O- you'd run out of hte good arrows (fire, ice, darkspawn, poison) then move onto lame ones. Bows work with no required arrows right? I didnt use Sebastian much so I didnt pay attention.

@Addai67: Hmmm... sounds good. I didnt want to take Anders into the deep roads so Bethany could die. Makes for drama <3. Think it could be done with a high amount of health poitions? My basic party last game was Fenris, anders, Varric, and myself. Two Two-Handed warriors, rogue, and mage.

This time it'd probaby be Fenris, Me, ... Merrill and maybe Aveline. Still debating party.

Thanks, I have a memory of a six year old. Loved being an archer, I'm usualt a duel weapon person!

Yeah I never rely on a healer- I make everyone high DPS so it's not necessary- though with the long cooldowns it's more useful in this game especially if you're playing on higher difficulty.  I added a mod which allows Merrill to get the basic heal spell, and my PC mage was able to keep most everyone healed up.

On my mage game, I often had Carver, Fenris and Varric.  It works well as a high DPS party.  We struggled mightily on the high dragon, though. (*edit: uh, obviously not with Carver- I think I had Merrill along)  There it really does pay to have Anders, especially if you give him an upgraded arcane shield with its fire resistance.

I think it also took Fenris 3 years to truly realize the following:

-he IS a free man, with or without Danarius dead, but he is now so he got that reassurance

-it'd be nice to have a family, but his family was broken the moment he gave his memory to Danarius, and the companions are more of a family to him than his real family

-ha couldn't fathom why Hawke loves him. Perhaps he doesn't think he deserved her. He walked out because he remember stuff and he emotions are just too strong...well I think he got scared and he realized what he was doing--falling in love

-love and companionship with trust was something really really new to him, he had to get used to the idea he doesn't have to run anymore

-and maybe he finally realized with everyone dead, Hawke's all he's got. She's more Than a friend, she's a lover, a companion, someone who's got his back, who will never abandon him. Sometimes... You don't need a reason for the things you do or have any explanation for things youre not sure of...you just go with it

Hey let's face it.  Love is a scary thing, giving someone else that much power over your own self, the power to hurt you like nothing else.  Fenris says it bluntly, when he admits he was just scared as crap to do that much.  It took him TIME to figure out it's worse to not love than to love.
