Probably all of the above. At the same time.
Husbands and boyfriends will spaz trying to figure out just wtf is going on. (unless they're used to this kind of thing. In which case, bless them. Posted Image)

*returns to blink at Helen's announcement, then giggles herself into a coughing fit*

This thread moves fast, but is oh-so-worth-it to try and keep up. Thank you for that, Helen! I'll just recover over here in my corner, grinning like a fool.

And there's the rub, Madam. I'm still not sure just how old Hawke starts off in Act 1, but it's got to be less than 25, since her mother "ran off" with Malcom 25 years ago. 23 to 24, perhaps? *does the math* Let's see, that would make her 24-25 at the "official" start of Act 1, 27-28 in Act 2, and finally 30-31 in Act 3, unless my calculations are horribly off. According to the era, I presume that would make her an "old maid", since the human life span tops off between 60-75 years? Just guessing here, of course. Meh, I need to poke my nose into Thedas research again.

So, "Fenris: The Musical" DLC is out for you? lol
...

I'd love to see a Fenris DLC similar to Leliana's song. :D

Srsly now, Gideon Emery has an incredible voice and knows how to "sell" it *swoon*, that doesn't mean Fenris has to sing, but I'd really love to play as Fenris in a DLC mapping his journey from an ordinary slave in Minrathous to a lyrium-burned fugitive in Kirkwall... <3

A screenie for ya all. The cutest smile ever!

Well, six years is a long time. I mean, she's probably in her 30's by the time Varric is telling the story.
Which isn't to say 30's are old. She's just not super young anymore.

I read a book once, where the hero stupidly rejected his lover before finally turning around and saying he was wrong.  He says to her, "What I lack in quickness I make up for with staying power.  Meaning, I'll be loving you when we're both old and withered and creaking along."

Oh, a thought! (Yes, random inspiration while I'm at work is indeed this surprising and rare.)

Don't mages have longer life spans? *peers around for confirmation on this* Mage!Hawke will probably hang on to her youthfulness for a good long while. Rogue!Hawke and warrior!Hawke, however ...

I thought that was Dalish elves... Although that could explain why Briseis Hawke looks so young and squishy, while Kaalyss Hawke, even thought really blonde and bright and snarky, easily pulls off the mid-twenties min. look. :P

(In reality, it's because Briseis only has eyeshadow-- otherwise, she has no make-up, and I think it makes her look younger).

"You sound as if you're asking for a loan."

First playthrough, I had no idea what he'd say to that.  Imagine my surprise when the "flirty" tone came back out and he made his quip about the mansion needing upkeep.  I giggled like a schoolgirl.  And, oh, the smile.  Instant fangirl puddle, was I.  *sigh*  Posted Image

this might totally be off topic, but UGH i hope that the one NPC i totally cant stand [ Sorry Izzy fans] Is not the only carryover for dlc or da3. I would have to shoot myself in the foot.
I tried being mean to her, nice, I tried grabbing coin for all quests but jees it dont matter what u do she doesnt seem to approve or disapprove appropiately. the bar never really moves off neutral.
she is the most one dimensional character for me, I am thoroughly convinced she is there for [ going to provoke here i spose]... male eye candy. I cant really stand her personality, its really really difficult to take her along in parties. funny one liners dont make up for it! UGH.
anyways hoping dlc content has more Fenris, anders or ANYONE but her omg...

I always think of hawke being 20 when the game starts (dont know why) so there would be 2 years between her and the twins (think I read somewhere thatthey where 18 during lothering)

I had the same problem with Isabela, I got the right amount for friendship to do her questioning belief's quest in act two... WHILE I was doing the quest where you give her the book or have her take it back. So I lost her for act 3. Which I didnt mind, cept for what it could have brought during the zevran and alistair parts- but I found those on youtube.

if you are looking for a way to keep her without romance, here's a pretty good guide-ish.

*nod* I always age lower for FemHawke, MaleHawke is always older in my own world. Due to the images I've seen of him, like the one staring at me on the right of my screen in this forum all the time. Looks 30+ish.

I'm lol here, truly.  I was utterly bemused with Isabella my first couple of PTs.  Honestly, I watched over hubby's shoulder so often he finally told me to go away, just to see some of the interactions a Hawke might have with her.  Hubby's Hawke, I might add, slept with Izzy but ultimately went with a Merril romance.  Hubby wasn't that impressed with the Pirate, although he doesn't understand why I downloaded the Izzy-w-pants mod.  But I always lost her in Act 2; just couldn't get enough friend/rivalry points that she would show up when the Arishok started punting me around the room.

This time around, I'm determined to keep the witch.  And as I've been playing with the game, I'm having fun working at getting her friendship up.  I might go with rivalry next time round, who knows.  But she is growing on me at this point.  Sorta like a fungus.

*snickers*  A very unique way to describe youth, to be sure, and I like it.  Posted Image

I agree that less is more when it comes to the makeup.  I tried a heavier application, wanting my first Hawke to look less generic, but disliked the results.  I believe it does result in a younger appearance, which suits my snarky ladies just fine.  Posted Image

I believe that the Dalish were starting to live longer due to their isolation.  It was humans that quickened their blood, so keeping to their own is likely reversing the process, albeit slowly.  I'm unsure as to where I got the notion that mages live longer no matter what race they may be.  I suspect it's something I overheard/read in Origins.  I'll have to double check.  It just makes sense to me that someone with the power of magic flowing through them would be able to draw on that and age slower as a result.

This might sound weird, but even if Hawke is over 30, gained wgt or scars etc, wouldnt a person in love see with with the heart and not the eyes? i mean i tend to view peeps I care about way different than the average pin up . I dont notice how b/f is balding etc, its just him. Am i phrasing that clearly? sometimes i think it gets all twisted from ideas im thinking to what i write, doesnt come out correctly lol
