But I'm still holding out for Crispin Freeman, or maybe Tony Baker, or if he's English the one tankgirly likes, the one who played Prince Nuada, he'd be good too.

I haven't actually heard a lot of Tony, just what I have heard is splendid.

What if Fenris isn't a love interest at all? What if he is one of the party members who is, and I quote, "not interested in Hawke romantically?"
What if the one memory he clings to is that of a past love?
Ouch.
What if he is? But it doesn't matter, there are a lot of characters than aren't LIs and have a huge fanbase (see Sten, Anders etc.)
But i am sure Mr Gaider's hand was twitching to write a romance like this :OAnd torture us by killing him or something...

Really? I loved Valen! Especially in a party with Deekin (although there were some choice lines with Nathyrra too).David Gaider wrote...

I'm also sort of interested what characters or people influenced his overall personality when Gaider penned him. You learn more about a character based on the things that created them.
Well, he's a little like Valen in some respects. I wanted to have a more stoic character, and never really got the opportunity to explore that fully with Valen.
Beyond that there are a couple of characters that I was inspired by, but I'd hesitate to mention them simply because people read way too much into that. Some folks who hear "inspired by" read it as "is an exact copy of" and that's nothing of the sort. The parts of a character that I find interesting and inspiring might seem entirely incidental to someone else, and regardless of my inspiration the character I wrote may have ended up somewhere else anyhow (as with Zevran and his "Spike of Buffy" inspiration).
Funny thing is I started out not liking him much thinking he was too stuck up but just being courteous was enough to actually get to know him and I ended up loving his character!
I'm all excited now

Hawke is the new Deekin... Then I demand we'll be able to walk around humming "the doom-song".. We might even get Fen and the other companions to hum along.
Doom, doom, d-doom, doom, d-doom, doom!

And if Fen is a little like Valen the change of, at least, him humming along will be slightly higher.

Well, it seems there are quite many Valen lovers here, so I think he deserves his own thread in the NWN section
http://social.biowar...6/index/5540922
where we can also discuss his similarities with Fenris

In their art, elves are shown as taller. Males are shown about as tall as a human female.
