Oh, come on!  You know that warrior and rogue Hawke both have blood magic and can control every single movement of his/her little brother. :P

Same goes for mage Hawke.

There was nothing like that opening scene to make me glad I was born an only child.

I'm decided on the issue, at least for my own opinion. I just can't see Fenris as being sexually inexperienced. He likely encountered such situations both before and after the ritual that gained him his markings. Positive relationships, however, are what I think he's been lacking. *snip*

Um, am I the only one who thought he had a sexual relationship with Danarius? And that even at one point he was willing (maybe before the markings)? It's just these phrases by Danarious that make me think so:

D: Do I detect a note of jealousy? The lad is rather skilled, I admit.
and
D: You weren't always this way, Fenris. Once upon a time you had an affection for me. I remember it fondly.

And how angry Fenris gets after Danarius says that. I mean, he's already angry so he gets that much angrier. His 'Shut your mouth, Danarius' has a ring of shame to it.

You are never the 'only one', on the internets ;)
And I know exactly what you mean, it has been talked about with a vast array of views, I am in the 'Danarius is a weirdo who abuses slaves every way he can', camp......

So am I...

As am I.

Add me to this.  I think this is one of the biggest reasons why he left.

Just my speculation.

...and my fic-- apologies for the link: www.fanfiction.net/s/6844123/1/On_the_Turning_Away

Well, not really apologies

ugh, I actually hate when people start their phrase by 'am i the only one...'. Don't know what made me write that. *beats self on the head*

I'm also a little happy he's dead, because Leandra made me so angry when she implied Hawke was expendable. It's /not/ cool to say that to your kid. Ever.

Yeah i didn't dig that either. She kinda gave me the vibe that "you're the big sister, so you're suppose to take care of your siblings, and if they die, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!". WAIT, WHAT?

She gave me the vibe also, when I was heading out for the Deep Roads Expedition that "It's OK if you risk your life or end up dead, but not your brother."  I sorta wanted to kill Mama Hawke then.

Although I did cry when she died.

You know, I can understand the whole "oooh i lost one of my children so I might say harsh things to you living children of mine" but...I just think...it could've been better

Exactly.
And come on, HawkeMom, this is /Carver/ we're talking about. He's /not/ a child :/ even though him proving this ends up with his death, I don't care.
I mean, the only reason Bethany didn't get taken to the deep roads in my 1st PT (when I didn't know they'd die) was because I just didn't like her or gfind her useful enough to trade for Fenris and Merrill. They aren't babies, you can't expect Hawke to be their perfect protector forever and ever.
I just hate that, instead of being able to become independant, they die TT

I always thought it was because Hawke was always there to take care of everyone, and even Leandra got used to it and probably didn't even realise what she was saying. Same as when she blamed Hawke for Bethany/Carver's death at the hands of the ogre she didn't _actually_ mean that, I think the whole family is used to Hawke leading and protecting them.

yeah, i didn't understand WHY it was okay for Hawke to go risk her life (to help the family get to a better place at that) but it is NOT okay for the twins to go.

and when she died, all i could think of was the stitiches on her neck

Same here. Was kinda glad that my Silly!Hawke called her out on it however joking he sounded. ( I say sounded because I honestly think he wasn't.) Wasn't very pleased with her answer along the lines of 'not meaning it'.Posted Image

I'm sorry, but I don't think you say that unless you mean it, and it's not like I meant for Carver to die.

....Also, new to the thread, but I've followed since the beggining. Just didn't know how to post.

The big thing isn't so much her getting mad at Hawke after Bethany dies, for me at least, it's her telling Hawke, point blank, that she'd rather Hawke's sibiling stay behind, rather then have them risk their life. While also saying she's /perfectly fine with Hawke doing it./
Just a WTF WAI moment, for me. :bandit:

IMO, what's missing from the Mama Hawke bits is tears. If she didn't just sound kind of upset and have a squishy look on her face, but was genuinely sobbing her face off, I think it would have made a huge difference.

And I can never let Carver die. Bethany's death made me sad, but eh. But Carver? My little bro??? Nevar! :pinched:

Like some sort of genuine sadness, yes? All could be forgiven if the women cry just a tab bit. God, Hawke is the oldest, Hawke had to do EVERYTHING, Hawke had to bring the family's status back...Hawke gets dumped by Fenris, dude, give Hawke a break you know? she's the mother for crying out loud!

I did it so I could have Fenris kidnapped, come Act 3.

Missed this somehow:

Eirnae wrote...

Meep!  I go and read up on something and I miss a whole bunch of posts!  *headdesk*

As far as the music goes, my theme song for my Mia Hawke and Fenris is "Awake and Alive" by Skillet, but for the dancing imagery, I'll go with "Miracles" by Norwegian RecyclingPosted Image

I'm also a believer in Denarius "utilizing" poor Fenris for sexual acts.  I won't call them favors, because that suggests that Fenris even had a choice in the matter.  Posted Image  This is partly influenced because of the man's creep-tastic voice.  It's rare that I personally want to resurrect a character just so I can kill them again, but Denarius is definitely on that list.  He may even be on it twice.

Yesterday, I was totally on "Faster" by Within Temptation for Fenris and my Briseis Hawke.

Then I heard this (another Within Temptation tune).

And I think I have a new song for them.

That Skillet song is a good choice, BTW. It's one of the few I know-- embarrassing because 3/4 of my friends have them somewhere in their music, and it fits the relationship well.

Maybe that might have added a little emotion to the scene.  Well, beyond the massive towering inferno of rage I had when I first saw the sibling death scene in the demo.  Gah, I still rage when I play it!  There's MamaHawke running along, not doing squat, while me and my bro and sis are saving her sorry, useless behind from endless rampaging darkspawn, and getting wounded in the process.  The rage takes away from the grief still, even though I really adore both Hawke siblings.

I always took her comments as "I can't bear losing ALL of my children - one of you stay here, please!" and she just recognises that Hawke is totally the dominant sibling.

The first thing I saw on DA2, with Leandra, is her falling to her knees so that her kids can save her sorry arse from some Darkspawn. They weren't even running that fast, keep up woman!

Like, I understand if she tripped or something, but she's just like: lultired, gonna stop now.

Which is funny, considering all the resting she does while everyone else is fighting.  I guess curling in a little chattering ball is tiring.

Editing: None of this means I didn't almost dissolve into sniffles at her death scene the first time I played.

Yes, Wesely gets a pass, since he'd just been, you know, stabbed, MamaHawke? Not so much. I understand that she's a somewhat old woman, but she seems to act older than she should be. I mean, it's pretty reasonable to assume that she's in her 40's, beginning of DA2, mid to late, and women don't usually gray that early.
What was I even talking about-
Oh, right, yea. She may be older, but you'd think she'd have learned /some/ fighting. JC

I am on my first playthrough and in the beginning I thought I would romance Anders - since I knew and liked him from awakening - but then... Fenris happened. That voice, and the looks, and the smoldering eyes, just... Gah! How could a woman possibly resist that?
Although I do dislike the part where he leaves after bedding Hawke because he is essentially a coward - it only takes him three years to admit it, lol - but well... he is Fenris. I can't begrudge him for long. XD
Also, considering the way he acts (and how easily he rips people's hearts our from their chests) I'd guess he could be quite the beast in bed. *has her mind in the gutter* |D
So yeah... Count me in as a Fenris fangirl. ;) Now if only he was real dammit!

I think he thinks of himself as a coward, but I can't, considering what he's likely survived.  And he kept his sanity intact, on top of it all.  He might be "troubled," but he's strong as all hell.  I can't imagine how I'd hold up under Danarius' foibles.

Blame Namuri.

It started with Fenris dancing.

Fenris dancing started talk about music.

I mentioned I was listening to Phantom of the Opera.

Started a FOTO Fenris.

Talked to Narumi.

There is a chandelier in FOTO.

Chandeliers are fun to swing on.

Thus, this sketch was born.

i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm62/Aelrk/swing.jpg

I'm not too happy with it. I got lazy on the background because the image of Fenris took a lot out of me. That sort of perspective is HARD, and I don't have a reference, as I said before. I also think the chandelier looks like poop. I was going to draw candles flying off of it, but then I'd start thinking about fire. Then firemen. Then Fireman Fenris.

No, Not right now. I still need to finish FOTO Fenris.

You people are a blessing and curse. I don't normally draw fanart but ya'll are a fount of intriguing ideas.
