Frustrated again with DA2 on my second play through romanced Fenris and he then lost his armor rune slot...what is all that about ? Seriously did bioware test this game properly this is like the 5th bug that has happened to me over playing this game. I really do want to like it but it's making it very hard with all the bugs and when is it going to get patched so it can be played properly...not chuffed

I think he thinks of himself as a coward, but I can't, considering what he's likely survived.  And he kept his sanity intact, on top of it all.  He might be "troubled," but he's strong as all hell.  I can't imagine how I'd hold up under Danarius' foibles.

Well, he thinks he is a coward, but he has proven himself to be anything but - I probably wouldn't have survived under Danarius either, heh. He is actually very brave and strong, he just has trouble letting people close. If Hawke doesn't romance him, he has sex with Isabella and you can hear it as party banter, but he's fine with it because it is just sex (she is kinda put off by how blunt he is and he responds with something like "what did you expect, roses?"). The thing is, with Hawke romance, there are feelings involved. <3 Which is why it probably is hard to him (opening up his heart, letting another person in, risking getting hurt, all that).
But my Hawke was very forgiving. If I was there I would have storned off to his mansion and demanded an explanation the minute he left (complete with sheets hanging around my body and stuff  ), heh.
Seriously, three years? And they never talked about it? :/
When he said that Hawke's touch still felt like yesterday I was like "Yeah.. because it was!". *huffs at unnecessary drama*

You know, because I just love beating dead horses... I actually just got to Questioning Beliefs in act 2... That conversation, the have you never... one, I just figured out why I think it has to do with intimacy and not just sex.

What leads into it is Fenris says, after he tells the story of the fog warriors, he ends it by saying he's never spoken of it with anyone. It goes like this (yay yay talk table). I don't know why I never put these lines in when I've quoted it...

Fenris: Perhaps this is what it means to have a friend.
Hawke: It might mean more than that.
Fenris: I... have never allowed anyone too close.

Right there -- the conversation is not about sex, it's about being in a relationship. Then it goes onto the part where I'm always quoting. The whole, "have you never..." part of the conversation.

Yay, at least I'm able to pinpoint why I never felt that conversation was about sex. Of course, I'm not necessarily RIGHT or anything.

Ok, back to ummm, playing

I dunno. I can't really see him doing things to Hawke's journal, or carving profane things into the stairwell. However, I could've seen a dialogue (if Fenris did move in, which we all know doesn't happen) based off the one if you examine Hawke's bed when you have the dog.

Hawke: Pawprints? I told him to stay off the bed.

Fenris: (Glances at dog, then to his [own] feet, then back to dog, and again to his feet) Which one?

Hawke: I said nothing about feet prints. 

Although I wish we got an examine on that statue in the library that Hawke finds creepy and Fenris hates (and we all know Varric sits inside it and that's how he spies on Hawke's at home doings) that maybe Fenris attempted to destroy it because he was sick of it staring at him whenever he came over (and unfortunately, failed).

I just caught up on the pages, I LUV the art work , I too have added the chandelier to my desktop!
And of course cuz im that way, I have to add about the subjects on previous pages, i.e. likely slave abuse, I think of Vaughn talking as tho elves are animals, and how little they think of animal cruelty. I mean Fen and his kin have been born in slavery. I can imagine many beatings for playing in the courtyard and making to much noise, falling asleep on a rug, or just a whipping boy for being there at wrong moment.
never forget , that even tho he may now be a living weapon, in tevinter he was a slave with that same mentality, the repercussions of refusal might have been dire indeed, Before the ritual could have been more his kin he worried for, hence the ultimate sacrifice to free them,, Hmph ungrateful wretch that Varania is... { always let her die now lol}
And i also gathered that that conversation Ejoslin lauds to was more about the intimacy of a relationship/ closeness that simple sex does not have, While i think it is normal for most of us to associate sex with a feeling of love and care, the world demonstrates way to often this is not the case... with some.. so... I think he was like they aluded to , stabbed in the heart with her love. something I dont believe he could handle right then.
When someone has been strong enough to survive the trauma of the past, it does not negate the damage and issues that hang on forever in some cases. slow healing thru friendship and care would tame the fear inside.. thats my take albeit a lil poetic lol
