Hmmm, I want to add some Carver squee. I LOVE Carver. I love how he defends Mage!Hawke to Fenris. And Gray Warden Carver does me so proud :D He's got principles and he loves his brother/sister -- but he needs to get out from under their shadow!

I feel the same way about Carver.Posted Image  At the end of the day, he puts his family first.

My first playthrough my Andersmanced Hawke was so shocked and stunned the best she could manage was "get out of my sight." So she let him live but only because she didn't have time to think. there should be an option...where before you tell him to leave, you should stab him somewhere. it would be his arm, it could be his thigh, anywhere non-vital. The guy's the healer anyways, he's gonna fix himself. There's going be a scar or whatever, and that's ever better. I would want my Hawke to tell him "I bet it hurts huh? Well, the families of those in the Chantry you just killed will be in much more pain than this. I'm not going to kill you, because I want you to remember this moment, and death is just an easy way out for you. I'm not going to give you what you want, I want you to forever think back to this, where you realized the only person that believed in you no long does. Now...get OUT of MY sight"

YEAH!

To the pain, then? ^_^

I think you're bluffing. :D

Death seems far too easy for what Anders has done. He might be too far gone to gain anything from it, but I like the justice of forcing him to live in the chaos he's created.

oh yesssss. I want him suffer, even just a little. I just think for Hawke to "forgive" him unconditionally is unbelievable, telling him to go only brings him back and killing him is just not as satisfying and I want more instead of just...death.

I've seen a video somewhere on yt with Fenris swaped in Isabela's place in the romance scean with MHawke.
That was pretty cool as well. I'd be more like Fhawke jumping at Fenris in my mind thou...*swooons*
Guess it was arranged by a similar trick.

And of course I can't find that video anymore for demonstrations purpose, damn it! Why do I never find things when I need themPosted Image

Does anyone have links to decent Fenris wallpapers? I tried googling but came up empty-handed. Well, there is the promo shot, but with a bunch of screens floating around, someone should have gotten creative by now.

The bolded part would be like.... perfect for my rogue. Absolutely perfect. Not so much for the mage, but the rogue would totally do that.

Carver is also that one kid you know at one point in your life where he's always seeking someone's approval, and in this case, Fenris' approval. As much as he loves Hawke, he feels he's always been overshadowed by Hawke's talent and Bethany's magic...he needed someone who he can look up to, someone who understand what he sees in swords and what not.

It's touching that he is surprised his father named him for a swordsman and he realizes that he's maybe someone his father would be proud of after all.  I think Carver's problem is that he always assumed dad liked mage Hawke more.  Malcolm probably had to spend a lot of time training mage Hawke so they had a natural closeness and Carver felt left out of that.  I do like that he respects Fenris, even if it isn't returned- heh.  Although Fenris will say "I'm sorry about your brother, he seemed like a fine young man" if Carver dies in the Deep Roads.

I think Fenris doesn't have time to warm up to Carver as he does with the others. He's not as open a person in Act I. I'd like to think once they had time to chat after the final battle they'd be cool with each other.

Basically when I first started getting their convos I could totally see my Hawke looking at Fenris and going, "My brother likes you. My brother likes you. It is a sign."

:D

hmmm, yeah. He tends to feel left out. He's not a bad kid, but he's still a kid. All the other companions are much older than him and he tend to feel as though he needs prove himself to other, since everybody's all "Hawke this Hawke that". I dont think Fenris does not respect him, I think Fenris doesn't think Carver should seek other people's approval. I think Fenris just gets annoyed by Carver lol

I'm not sure where this MEG FB group is at, but thanks for the DA link. I already looked there, but found the selection a little lacking. I'm sure more will pop up as people finish the game.

I'm a little picky when it comes to art and fanfiction. Almost anal.

I wanted to ask, for those that have played Hordes of the Underdark, how much Fenris actually reminds you of Valen. I dl'ed the game from GoG.com but only got to the first level. I know from reading about Valen that his main thing is that he struggles with his tiefling nature and that you can convince him either to give in to it or to fight it. I guess that with Fenris it's different in that even in a rivalry he wants to leave his hatred behind.

Valen and Fenris are pretty similar as far as I see them. I fear the reprisal of the masses for saying this, but I think fandom has really worked Valen into a squishy, blushing, bumbling sissy in a lot of cases, but the Valen I saw was a lot more temperamental and mature than all that. Too much of the fiction I've seen about him reminds me of (Origins') Cullen with horns and a tail. That's great if that's your thing - it's just not mine.

The biggest difference between Valen and Fenris, though, would have to be tainted blood vs anger management. Valen is more like Janders in that regard - having a part of himself that is both the same and other than him, the inner demon that urges him in directions he doesn't necessarily wish to go. Fenris, on the other hand, doesn't have that "excuse" (though I don't think he himself would ever see his anger as an excuse) for the way he behaves and reacts. And the missing memories shapes him differently, too. Valen is already actively striving against his nature to become a better man, while Fenris still doesn't have a clue what that means imo. At least in the early stages of the game.

Good Lord...someone mentions Valen and I start babbling. :pinched:

@ Aeryn-Sun: btw, what does Rival!Isa say when she brings back the book in Act2? Friend!Isa said:
Isa: This is /your/ damn influence, Hawke.
It was awesome. She sounded so angry
