I may be completely off the mark but isn't possible when the body goes through something extremely painful and horrifying that the brain can block it out or use memory loss as a coping mechanism?

Or Danarius did it.

Yeah, that does seem the most likely. I was just thinking how horrible it would be if he did actually attempt to escape or resist once before and just doesn't remember it.

@ZombieGeisha: It can and that was Fenris' original assumption, but IIRC if you give him back to Danarius during Alone, you get a letter from Danarius saying he's become more docile after his 'latest' memory wipe. Meaning it was deliberate.

So, Anders' name isn't his name, its a nickname that stuck, or he gave himself, right? More and more I'm finding him less and less endearing. If he "loves you" so much, why not tell Hawke his real name, even if only in confidence? Esp in the face of death! I mean even Flynn Rider tells Rapunzel his real name when they're about to die!

Ive seen it a couple of times on these forums now. Anders isn't his real name, its just a nick-name given to him when he joined the circle. He's from The Anderfells. So they called him Anders.

I am so happy i killed Anders right now,everything he did  is like betrayal and mistrast towards Hawk,even Merril supports you in the end!(i had her as a rival in my game)He asks you to help him to kill innocent people without even knowing it,weird sense of justice he has in my oppinion:mellow:

Thanks to a bet I lost with my hubby I wasn't allowed to romance Fenris first, so I got Anders. Which was ok, I loved Anders in DA:A.

I have to admit that, the first time Anders destroyed the Chantry and killed the Grand Cleric I was like "omg, tell me he didn't just do that!!" But I was playing my mage and romancing Anders, and thou I sooo didn't agree with his method I didn't kill him, he could try helping the mages instead.

I know a lot of people hate him now, but I still like him fine, just have to keep an eye on him lol

As blindslided as I was by Anders' final act, I understand why he had to do it. I've yet to find a better way to relate my feelings on the matter than by the words of one of the surviving apprentices in the DaO circle tower: "Andraste waged war against the Imperium; she didn't write them a strongly worded letter." Change has to be forced sometimes, and it's never pretty.

Whilst I can understand why anders did it, I still still think when he resorted to terrorism he lost the plot completey and proved the templars right! especially as he picked a Target where he knew full well there would be innocent civilians. I would gave been more sympathetic if he had blown up the templates barracks or something but no! I still like him as a character but he made a silly choice when joining with justice!

Blowing up templar barracks would solve a whole lot of nothing, and would be a complete waste. There was no reason to do it. There was, however, a very valid reason to remove the grand cleric out of the equation, no matter how many other casualities it caused. And that'll be last I'll say on the matter, at risk of polluting this wonderful thread with an off-topic debate

You know i wish sometimes there would be more options for the clothes that female Hawk wear in her house like Shepard in ME2,[ i dont know about the male Hawk i havent seen what he wears]i didn't like that robe so much<_<

I sure do!!!  That whole scene makes me week in the knees!  **swoon**  I would of love an additional flip on the wall.  Fenris then Hawke and then Fenris again.

It's a really sexy detail... I think I understand why they chose to leave it with Hawke slamming him instead of the other way around, but I also think it would be sexy to have it end with him slamming Hawke

And I adore the wall scenes Guh. Also adore how he often doesn't look at you when he begins speaking (at least rivalry) and then kinda pins you with his eyes. I think David Gaider named the animator who did his scenes somewhere... I've urge to send them chocolate

Rheia, a friend created that scene as a gift with her talent in the toolset.  I just love it.  Now I need to get one with my Hawke/Fenris.
