Demon saya, I wish had the patience to stick with one drawing long enough to finish it. I envy you. l am more of a sketch artist unless I buckle down and force myself to complete.

You wouldn't say that if you saw the incredible collection of UNFINISHED paintings I have...>.>;
It's kinda pathetic.  I'm just very dedicated when it comes to fanservice...

If I remember correctly, some guy wanted to get Fenris' tats full body. Wonder how that would turn out...

I was expecting to hate Fenris, but geez he's a true bro in a very odd way. Awesome character.

I'm not disputing, but how is he a bro?

Hehe.

That makes me feel somewhat better. Still, I keep getting flashes of inspiration and the pen just doesnt keep up.

What program do you use? I'm on Painter 11 with an Intuos4.

Most of my offerings end up staying in unfinished form because I love the fluid look of it.

Incredibly painful and expensive, I'd expect.

I use Painter 10...with an Intuos 4  ;)  I also do some work in Sai and OpenCanvas...I used to play in Photoshop 7, too, but then my laptop bit the dust  :crying:

I'm technically much more of a sketch artist.  Lots of black and whites, sketches, doodles, etc.  Now and then I settle down and do something 'serious'.  >.>;  I enjoy sketches.  If there's a slightly wonky piece of anatomy, it doesn't stick out as badly as a poorly chosen color does on painting...I'm thinking there's entirely too much 'yellow' on the chest in this one already...>.<;  *Is highly critical of her own work...*

He's a bro in an odd way, he wont turn on you for anything and always has your back(minus the fade, doesn't count).

Ok, ok.

Shouldn't this be approved by the fandom before he does? :P

@DemonSaya I'm always curious to know these kind of things from the people who draw/paint, how long have you been doing it and how often do you do it? :D

No one has your back in the Fade. Except Justice. Which... is kinda sad, actually. Posted Image

Someone suggested to Mr. Emery that if he gets tired of acting, he could take up a profession as a sex phone operator.

I sense a kindred soul!

And the wonky anatomy is one of the reasons I love sketches. Like you said, they look better because of their indistinct quality. A few pages back, I presented a more finished version of a Fenris embrace and I had to almost redraw Hawke entirely. All because she had a monstrously bad arm.

As for the yellowy part... it doesnt look too bad to me. I know how much we are our own awful critics though. I would say give the overly yellow saturated bits a bit of play with a very low opacity blue - probably of a similar tone as what you already have there. Only with some blue. Maybe a purplish blue.

I love playing with color opposites.

*dies*

Mr. Emery did say that that was something he hadn't thought of...and thanked the nice lady for the suggestion.

Wow...erm...*strains brain*  I always enjoyed drawing.  I remember doing some not-very-good portraits while sitting in front of a mirror when I was 10 or so...I didn't get serious about it until I was 14, so that makes it almost 14 years now  >.<;
As for how often...it depends.  When inspiration strikes (in whatever form), I'll do something, a picture or a story, just to get the idea out of my head.  Usually (as mentioned above) it's just sketches and stuff.  I started off with anime (usually fanart), and gradually started moving towards realism, which is almost exclusively what I do now.  When I try to do anime pictures, they wind up with very 'realism' proportions...which doesn't always work.  My oldest online gallery is about 6 years old, which is when I started working with digital programs (photoshop 7 at the time).  Some days I'll do 5 or 6 sketches, other times I'll work on one serious picture for several days (like the painting of Fenris).

Sorry for wall of text, guys...

I purposely pretend to accept the demon's deal just so I can antagonize Janders one extra time...that's probably not normal. :D

Pretty much the same with me, except I only started the digital medium within the past two years. I've been at it in general for about 20 years now. Never taken any actual lessons though - I'm self taught through people watching and anatomy texts.

Holy hell, now I feel old. Thanks.

Well, as long as you have high enough friendship/rivalry.
But who on here doesn't? :o
Yea, one of my favorite things in game is him following Hawke when you side with the mages.

LOL

I'm self-taught as well.  I was taking choir in high school instead of art classes.  Everything I know I learned from online tutorials, books, trial and error, and my (sometimes brutal) father.

Yes.My problem was that I hated being critiqued. I had a thin skin about it as well as the whole 'It's art. Technique doesnt matter' idea.

Then I grew up and every now and then I go to ConceptArt.Org and get my work torn apart. Best thing ever. Pondering going to art school when I finally decide to grow up and stop being so damned responsible.

Oh yeah, on that note, have a sketch. I call it, "Fenris and his Kitty"

I almost titled it something a little less safe for work, but reconsidered.
