Just finished DA2 a few days ago. Fenris's romance is so difficult but rewardingly heartwarming... Squeee! ^^ He was very well-written and his tics of personality (mage hatred, subjugation hatred, seeing the world through a slave/master lens, etc.) were very plausible and realistic....

A little thing, though. Did anyone else feel the Alone quest was a bit... underwhelming? I mean, here I am, looking forward to that final confrontation with Danarius practically from the moment I meet Fenris and learn what his deal is, and the guy - the scheming, diabolical Tevinter magister - just lures him into a tavern in the middle of the day. No intricately laid trap (doesn't the guy even know paralysation glyphs?) or sleep gas, no blood magic, no revelation of Fen's very mysterious lyrium markings with properties not fully known as a way for the magister to control him in a pinch... I dunno. The scene was very poignant for the options and conflicts it offered, but I expected the quest of such an important milestone in Fen's companion arc to be a bit more complex than that. In particular since Danarius was previously a force to be feared, a shadow hanging over Fenris, and such a clumsy setup didn't seem to match the hype...

I understand the whole "the game was rushed" problem, just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

Oh, yea, I understand. I was always confused by that too. I mena, why not take Varania hostage, or something? o0
The biggest thing I wondered though is how they managed to get out of the Hanged Man without trouble. I mean, they had a magical battle in there, you'd think it'd be on fire or something. And it's the middle of the day, they can't go running around splattered in gore.

edit: Drunk!Hawke is fun Hawke.

Thanks. :)

Since no one has given me a task in the past few moments, I'm back to working on Phantom of the Opera Fenris.

Well, the last time Denarius caught up with Fenris, Fenris did exactly what Denarius ordered him to do.  Denerius probaby expects the same thing.... And that's PRECISELY what happens if Hawke doesn't support Fenris.

No, I thought it was good and just the right amount of reveal and emotion.  I prefer something not too over the top.  If you spare Varania and he learns that he competed for his markings, that's a big revelation.

I do think Danarius expected Fenris to fold, though after three years of running and what happened to Hadriana he had to know that something else was going on and Fenris wasn't going to turn on Hawke like he did to the fog warriors.  I think Danarius just wanted to humiliate Fenris a bit before he killed him to get the lyrium.

Hah, love the fanservice pic. That made me giggle, which earned me an eyebrow raise from the hubby.

And sure, I can do some fish-shell-water thingy. My current sketch is almost done. I'll get on it right after.

And, of course, there is the danger I'll be dragged to bed before I can finish, but since I'm on leave I will be able to draw to my(your) hearts content this week.

Got back from a trip to Canada. Must write:

Magic:

Hawke Estate

Fenris: You forgot the key.

Hawke: Yes I did, and because the Maker loves to keep my life interesting I had to do it on the day that Bodhan and Sandal are in Starkhaven.

Fenris: Can't you just magic it open?

Hawke: It doesn't work like that.

Fenris: I've seen what Danarius and other mages can do with their powers I fail to see how a locked door can stop you.

Hawke: (sighs) I could use magic on the door, and it would open, but then we'd end up with a gaping hole in our house. Magic is essentially tapping into the energy of the world around us and then using that energy.

Fenris: I can't imagine that it would take much effort to open a wooden door.

Hawke: Very well Serah Magic-Hands, let's see you try and open the door.

Fenris: Very well, stand back. (phases hand and attempts to punch through the door's lock only to have his fist impact against solid steel) Fendhis! What did you do to this door?

Hawke: After that whole incident with the Qunari I had Sandal enchant the door with warding runes. It is now nearly impervious to damage, magic included.

Fenris: (rubbing his sore hand) Is there anything you haven't had Sandal enchant?

Hawke: I could name a few things but not in polite company.

Fenris: (muttering under his breath) Mages.

This almost wasn't a Fenris. I don't think it looks much like him.

Still kinda hot, though.

Phantom of the Opera Fenris, complete with period dress.

-giggle snort-
I'm not sure what he's going to do with her, though. I mean, that's not Hawke, she's not the fainting type, but if Hawke walks in on him right now, she's going to want to know wtf he's doing.
