Just finished DA2 a few days ago. Fenris's romance is so difficult but rewardingly heartwarming... Squeee! ^^ He was very well-written and his tics of personality (mage hatred, subjugation hatred, seeing the world through a slave/master lens, etc.) were very plausible and realistic....
A little thing, though. Did anyone else feel the Alone quest was a bit... underwhelming? I mean, here I am, looking forward to that final confrontation with Danarius practically from the moment I meet Fenris and learn what his deal is, and the guy - the scheming, diabolical Tevinter magister - just lures him into a tavern in the middle of the day. No intricately laid trap (doesn't the guy even know paralysation glyphs?) or sleep gas, no blood magic, no revelation of Fen's very mysterious lyrium markings with properties not fully known as a way for the magister to control him in a pinch... I dunno. The scene was very poignant for the options and conflicts it offered, but I expected the quest of such an important milestone in Fen's companion arc to be a bit more complex than that. In particular since Danarius was previously a force to be feared, a shadow hanging over Fenris, and such a clumsy setup didn't seem to match the hype...
I understand the whole "the game was rushed" problem, just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.
Oh, yea, I understand. I was always confused by that too. I mena, why not take Varania hostage, or something? o0
The biggest thing I wondered though is how they managed to get out of the Hanged Man without trouble. I mean, they had a magical battle in there, you'd think it'd be on fire or something. And it's the middle of the day, they can't go running around splattered in gore.
edit: Drunk!Hawke is fun Hawke.
