As long as I still have the drawing bug making my hand itch, bring it on. My muse is a finicky girl, though.
Alas, it is bedtime to me. (Is it strange to be saying good night on a message board?)

Just finished DA2 a few days ago. Fenris's romance is so difficult but rewardingly heartwarming... Squeee! ^^ He was very well-written and his tics of personality (mage hatred, subjugation hatred, seeing the world through a slave/master lens, etc.) were very plausible and realistic....
A little thing, though. Did anyone else feel the Alone quest was a bit... underwhelming? I mean, here I am, looking forward to that final confrontation with Danarius practically from the moment I meet Fenris and learn what his deal is, and the guy - the scheming, diabolical Tevinter magister - just lures him into a tavern in the middle of the day. No intricately laid trap (doesn't the guy even know paralysation glyphs?) or sleep gas, no blood magic, no revelation of Fen's very mysterious lyrium markings with properties not fully known as a way for the magister to control him in a pinch... I dunno. The scene was very poignant for the options and conflicts it offered, but I expected the quest of such an important milestone in Fen's companion arc to be a bit more complex than that. In particular since Danarius was previously a force to be feared, a shadow hanging over Fenris, and such a clumsy setup didn't seem to match the hype...
I understand the whole "the game was rushed" problem, just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

I wanted a closer examination of what Fenris did to free his family. I mean, it's *honourable* to undergo such a painful transformation to make life easier for your family (Hawke seems to just kill hers off act by act!). The sister drops some vague hint that Fenris is doing way better than she and their mother, and then leaves. I NEED CLOSURE ON THAT ANECDOTE! Surely Fenris would want to know why he did what he did?
I didn't dare allow a confrontation with the sister for fear that Fen would kill her, and I lost 20 friendship points and completely buggered the friendship romance by NOT letting him attack her. So, great, I fail at getting to sleep with Fen because I won't let him slaughter the more-or-less innocent sister *headdesk*.
On a related note, where the hell is that book? You know the one.

Magic:
Hawke Estate
Fenris: You forgot the key.
Hawke: Yes I did, and because the Maker loves to keep my life interesting I had to do it on the day that Bodhan and Sandal are in Starkhaven.
Fenris: Can't you just magic it open?
Hawke: It doesn't work like that.
Fenris: I've seen what Danarius and other mages can do with their powers I fail to see how a locked door can stop you.
Hawke: (sighs) I could use magic on the door, and it would open, but then we'd end up with a gaping hole in our house. Magic is essentially tapping into the energy of the world around us and then using that energy.
Fenris: I can't imagine that it would take much effort to open a wooden door.
Hawke: Very well Serah Magic-Hands, let's see you try and open the door.
Fenris: Very well, stand back. (phases hand and attempts to punch through the door's lock only to have his fist impact against solid steel) Fendhis! What did you do to this door?
Hawke: After that whole incident with the Qunari I had Sandal enchant the door with warding runes. It is now nearly impervious to damage, magic included.
Fenris: (rubbing his sore hand) Is there anything you haven't had Sandal enchant?
Hawke: I could name a few things but not in polite company.
Fenris: (muttering under his breath) Mages.

Zevran is nothing but an assassin with a questionable motive who could easily be manipulating Hawke for any number of reasons, as far as Fenris knows. I don't think he'd always react that way to just anyone propositioning Hawke.
Well, I hope not, he basically threatened to kill him 8D;
He'd probably glare at anyone who tried, and that'd probably ward them off, unless they were drunk. In which case, Hawke can handle herself. :>
Yep, jealous Fen is awesome though. "That depends. How much do you wish to test that luck of yours?" Total win.
As an aside, yes, it comes off as possessive rather than protective to me as well. It is absolutely delicious and totally understandable though. I'd probably feel the same way, as well.
It is possessive. I mean, it's not that Zevran propositions Hawke first, after all... Hawke has flirt in their first conversation, and that comment about manhandling is pretty suggestive.
I like that he doesn't get upset with her flirting -- just when it goes a little further than friendly.
Fenris has bits of memory, so he'll probably remember it himself sooner or later. I don't think either he or Varania were up for a long chat.Ms .45 wrote...

Wait, you didn't go to the Hanged Man at all? Because you can convince him not to kill her, and pretty easily.I didn't dare allow a confrontation with the sister for fear that Fen would kill her, and I lost 20 friendship points and completely buggered the friendship romance by NOT letting him attack her. The Arishok duel was awful. I already went through it twice, once as a mage and once as a 2H warrior... third time around's gonna be as a DH rogue, hope it's easier that way.

Wow, just got Fenris to turn to me in the Fade. Think that it surprised him as much as me. Wish we could have had a longer talk afterwards =) Isabella's sorry-I-turned-on-you bit was pretty fun. Next time I romance him I'll try to trigger it again. Love it when new and surprising things happens when you bring a different companion to a q from the group you had on the last Hawke =)

The Book of Shartan, I think, is about an elven Tevinter slave that escaped? Am I correct? I can't quite remember.
And I happily let Fenris kills his sister, she tells him that she sold him out for a chance to become an apprentice magister. I'd think any sibling willing to get you killed in order to further their career deserves Fenris' fist punching out through their back. She's not even remotely more or less innocent.
Bummer, because if that dog thing and Leandra was a real prompt, I actually had a bit of an idea...elenilote wrote...

How did you do that? I brought him twice to the Fade (both friendmance and rivalmance) and he never turned on me.SilentK wrote...

I do think Danarius expected Fenris to fold, though after three years of running and what happened to Hadriana he had to know that something else was going on and Fenris wasn't going to turn on Hawke like he did to the fog warriors. I think Danarius just wanted to humiliate Fenris a bit before he killed him to get the lyrium.
