Maaannn I've been lurking this thread since Dragon Age 2 came out, but my game has finally arrived ^ ^ so I can finally join you lovely people in spreading the Fenris love

I haven't finished the game yet, but I've already friendmanced Fenris, and its just so cute! I felt like he's been through so much that he really just needed a friend. Or a hug. Wheres my hug option!

I want to rivalmance him next playthrough, but I don't know how I will survive being all rival-y to him!

Quite easy, really. My first playthrough was Fenris rivalmance.
Just bring him along whenever you are going to Anders quest and delibrately choose pro-mage to ****** him off.
A bit hard, but I managed it at the end.

OOO just wanted to ask, just got a new conversation on Avelines the Long road quest { one of my favorite quests] and int he hanged man Fenris tells Aveline she is evading the situation and also that she is squandering something valuable [ paraphrased but close to it] and Hawke replies you cant ignore advice from someone so stable in relationships.
Has anyone else gotten this? i laughed sooo hard. Love the pics and Demon's painting *yum*.

I've done the quest duo with Fenris and I haven't had that line :/. I've yet to do it on friendship path with Aveline, though I have one with a save close to that point (she always ends up my rival, gr), so maybe there is a difference? At which point does that convo happen exactly?

It happened right after Donnic leaves the Hanged Man while waiting for Aveline to come out of hiding. Its the first time it ever happened for me too, It was so funny tho I screenied it for laughs.

Ah okay. I'm thinking it's rivalry vs friendship then because for Rivalry dialog there Hawke is fairly cross with Aveline about having the 'patrol romance' happen, and kind of glares at her saying (paraphrasing here) "You just made it my business! I'm seeing it done!" I don't recall Fenris adding anything .

Arg. I want more dialog from Fenris but I don't like friend Aveline. Gr.

That quest always makes me giggle. Its the first of 4 pt's where I actually got Aveline asking Hawke what do you and Fenris do as well... and Hawke;s look is priceless. But the Hanged man conversation really made me giggle too. Seems lots of new stuff to discover!

@Rheia: It's either Friendship/Rivalry specific or response specific. When I did it he said nothing when I picked the top response but then said something when I picked the bottom one, the first option you get in The Hanged Man after Donnic leaves.

It depends on who in in party with you. Usually Isabela will superscede anyone else. But, if you don't bring her along, then your LI will speak up (just don't bring varric at the very end too. I missed seeing if Fen has a line at the end because of it ;p)


Lines I did hear him say: "She's courting him, with the fear reserved for a dragon" and "You don't know what it is you're squandering" (paraphrased that last one).

Yeah, you need to bring only him and Seb during the Wounded Coast part to ensure you get his line. Sebastian doesn't have any dialogue during The Long Road so he's good for an extra party member.

Yes I had ANders, varric and fenris. ANd i was in friendmanship as a snarky mage. I picked snarky and diplomatic choices mostly this pt.

OOO aris i will do that on lighting the beacons u mean? i tried merrill anders and varric/ isabela , varric and fen. those didnt work. I will reload that with correct party to hear additional dialog! TY!

Give him his sword gift. It's found in the warehouse in the quest that Orsino sends you on. Just make sure you give it to him BEFORE you do the next bit.


That being said, if you're not maxxed out in your friendship/rivalry with him before the end of act2, you're doing it wrong :wub:

Yup, when lighting the beacons. Leave one spot blank and take Seb and whoever's dialogue you want to hear.

@Knal1991: I don't know, I'm sorry. He was maxed for me by that point. Try looking on the DA wiki, most quests should have point lists by now.

I got something like 15 friendship points in his sister quest, then I told him not to kill her and it went down with 10 >_> , this happens to me more then often... It's kind of weird that he hasn't approved on anything I did against Mages in act 3 [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie](I got Anders on 100 now so I don't care what he says ) just want him on my side in the end:)
