Guess it felt a bit like watching Spongebob first time?

I never actually watched that show, though an old co-worker did make plenty of jokes about that once upon a time.

So I imagine it would have been similar.  Except in that case that Gary wasn't trying to kill me, nor disturbingly repeating my name in a variety of ways in a dark vault.

Anyway, brief tangent over.  So, that Fenris guy.  I wonder if his hair is naturally that color or if it changed as a result of his modification by his Tevinter masters.

Naturally white hair? Unlikely.

But not impossible.   Granted I was just trying to get back on topic and just threw out the first thing that came to mind.  I didn't say it was a good question...

Well it is not a bad question. He could be born with white hair but even that would probably considered unnatural or at least very special. I don't really remember any white haired people in DA:O unless they are quite old.

Depends on Fenris' age I guess... My neighbour started going white in her 20s so TECHNICALLY its not impossible... its unfortunate though...

Yeah, pretty much. It's what I've been called since I was 8, and it is what I'll be changing my name to soon. I say this thread should be devoted to me.

Upsettingshorts wrote...

Heh, don't point your sarcasm at me.  I think the coincidence with my name is amusing and silly.  It's certainly not unique or anything.

I can't tell if Fenris is serious or not.

I am serious. But not in a, "OMG, I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY STOLE MY NAME *SADFACE*"- way. Just in a, "goddamnit, I wish my name wasn't becoming so popular..."-way.

Same with my uncle I'm told he had complete white-steely hair when he was in his 20's.

But in Fen's case I think it was the experiments which turned it white.

I don't think Fenris is a popular name. DG probably picked it because it is not as common as for example ... Alex ...

Of all the theories I doubt the lyrium hair bleach idea is worth letting go. Just remember, most of the time, design has reason and logic behind it. White hair "because it's cool" is a frequent occurrence (*glares at Sephiroth*) but I would hope there is a better reason in this case.

When I was growing up with it, it was really rare, though. Now you can find it in loads of places. Still, this Fenris guy is kinda cute, so maybe sharing name with him is not so bad.

Well white hair has something about it. I mean if you take the wigs of judges at court or nobility couple of centuries ago. It seems as if white heir command respect or something.

I should have a "Me" tag under my own name.  Then I can confirm to my nonexistant devoted admirers in my official thread that I am indeed a love interest to great indifference approval.

Well a non-white heir in a European court would have raised some eyebrows.

I would guess in the case of wigs, it would give the impression of age and wisdom. So, yes. To command respect.

Well actually the wigs were white because they were covered in talmac powder to dissuade lice and other tiny vermin.

As for Fenris' hair, isn't there a little elven girl with the same colouring as him running around? I mean, white hair and dark skin? I thought someone in the Meg thread mentioned her, and little girls are certainly not old, so if its true there is a precedence in Thedas for dark skinned people with white hair.

And so much hate for Spehiroth, dude's mom was an alien life form, white hair was not the wierdest stuff going down in his genetics.
