It's the same with diplomatic Hawke, though.

Now back to studying!

I've been rivalmancing Anders this last PT and it's been a living hell having Fenris around, and just a friend.  It's like I was expecting them to kiss and make it up for having broken when they did (like in Aeryn's fic <3) but he was all "supah friends fo life" and all Hawke got when she got home was that stupid mage. 
K, he's not stupid, but... Fenris!!
(Plus I made the mistake of taking him in my squad and... sniff)

@Mentatzoee, having gone through one playthrough romancing Anders myself, I totally understand how hard it must be for ya!

Which is why I am back with Fenris in this playthrough.

This is probably derailing whatever conversation topic is going on right now, but I have to say I'd pay my good sovereigns to witness a brooding contest between Fenris and Nathaniel (a la Varric's dialogue). :}

Just throwing that out there because that was the first thing I thought of when that dialogue triggered.

Hrm. Nathaniel and Fenris. Broody people, both, but personally I think they are quite different brands of stoic. I never got an impression that Nathaniel's calm is a mask, whereas Fenris is an angry explosion just waiting to happen (rivalry path seriously gives a new definition to a short fuse).

I'll second the desire to see Varrick impersonate the banter between the two

It's not a banter it's a cutscean after "Alone" quest. If you pick her up again in the begining of act 3 before you do Fenris's quest it's Isabela who comes to talk to him instead of Avelin and Varric.
I got it in my first unspoiled PT and got bit jelous(Since I didn't know about all amaizing lines that came from Fenris afterwards) Have no problem with that conversation anymore, but still end up picking her up after Fenris's "Alone" quest every new pt I run

One, I've never seen that scene triggered before so I was pleasantly surprsied. Two... Anders must have just left. >.>

I heard that line my last playthrough, so cute. Normally I reload convos and play all the different options at the same time, but the icons made it easy for me to just pick a path and leave the others for other plays. It makes for some fun little surprises when I replay.

@Nerana: I like that they actually stand there instead of appearing out of thin air for those convos but it does make some situations awkward. Like when Isabela and Aveline started arguing in Hawke's foyer at the end of Act 2 and Anders was standing there in the middle, stone faced and waiting to talk to my dog.

Fenris only seems to visit you if you don't romance him. =/ I've romanced him on my 4 former playthroughs. Never seen this. Then I romance Anders and he appears...

Think it's random otherwise though.

I am hoping one of you kind souls can help me out...I found a file with all of Fenris' voice clips in it and it's fantastic. I've gone through them all and set aside my favourite ones for my music player. But - I can't find one of my very favourite lines, which is right at the beginning of Hadriana's quest, when the party is stopped by the slaver on the cliff asking for Fenris back. He yells, "I am not your slave!" and I just love it. I found another clip with him saying "I am not a slave" but it's definitely not the same one. By any chance has anyone got the file I'm after?

I've yet to get this to trigger.  i've had Aveline and Anders show up, but no one else.  Makes me a sad panda.

I've never got this visit as well - among all my PTs there were two when my characters romanced Merril and Isabella respectively, and had Fenris on friendship path, maxed out or close to it... But he never came.  I wonder if this encounter needs any special circumstances. All other dog talks (Anders, Seb, Aveline, Varric, Isabella...) occur steadily each time on their own.
