The guy has a serious chip on his shoulder. Even if it is not directed at you, the negativity he exudes might be enough to make it an unhappy relationship at best. At worst, the abuse he suffered would turn into a spiralling cycle.
I don't know the numbers and it isnt a hard, fast rule, but people who spent much of their developement being abused are at a much higher risk of perpetrating the abuse.
His hatred of mages, while a great plot characteristic, is a huge hangup. While he doesnt see the world in complete absolutes, he comes pretty close. With such a large part of himself devoted to that particular belief, it is almost as bad as Anders's obsession. It'd be like dating a member of PETA. Sure, I like animals alright, but not to the HOLYCRAPTHEYNEEDHUMANRIGHTS extent. Even if he tried to agree to disagree, his personality won't let him completely let go, as evidenced by his continued comments on magees through the entirety of the game.
Right off the bat, I can identify that Fenris has anger management issues, problems with authority (rightly so, but what causes him to disobey the magisters can also translate into rebellion against proper laws and authorities as well) and his worldview is highly skewed because of the extreme events that occured in his life.
I think it's safe to say that if he existed in real life there's a good chance that he'd gone through juvie and a possible prison sentence of two. Probably because of his own moral compass, which is different from everone around him. He exhibits certain sociopathic tendencies, after all, in a rather negative way.
Ugh. Hope that got my point across. Seems inadequate.
