I'd think there's herbs or some such that act as birth control in some form. A tea or something? Eh, I dunno.sushismygen wrote...

Hmmm, you have a point.. But what about a warrior/rogue Hawke? (Also, it's not like they have condoms in Thedas; the only way to be sure is abstinence..)sushismygen wrote...

I was just wondering... What kind of dad would Fenris make? Lol. It is reasonable to assume that once all this is over and he actually settles down with Hawke, if Hawke is a female they would probably have little babies.
I think he would spoil them rotten, but I have really no idea. XD
Not sure if he'd go for it with a mage Hawke...can't imagine him even considering it, bringing the thought of his children inherit mommy's talents...His sister was a mage as well so magic running within both families....I don't know, heavy risk!
Im sure they have some...ummm...potions

I actually tried really hard not to finish that sentence with "the priiiize" but I guess once you played the damned game there's no way around it
On the subject of Fenris specifically, I tend to think he's probably sterile. Going through something so stressful on the body that the hair turns stark white seems like it could easily have all kinds of repercussions.

Probably.
Like I said I while back on this thread, it'd probably never happen with my (currently finished) Hawkettes. Briseis would be so terribly embarrassed bringing it up and afraid it would offend Fenris, and Kaalyss is inappropriate at the best of times.
My new PT mage though? Maybe-- she's responsible, kind (without being doormat-ish), and has a decent sense of humor alongside a pretty angry defensive streak. With kids (and they were mages) she'd be (definitely paraphrasing), "You pull a Auntie Merrill and become a Blood Mage, you will be out that door so fast that your head will spin." and/or "You pull a Uncle Anders, and I'll make sure the templars find and grass your ass."
If she didn't send them straight to the (new) Circle. But she'd want to visit a lot.

I think that song might be on the playlist already. lovelylovely

But, since these are our fantasy and we can dream what we will, He and my mage will have a family that he has missed out on. He will be a great father, ;p

There's birth control in Thedas... Wynne says as much in DAO when talking about her own pregnancy. That mage births are rare because there are ways to prevent them.
That said, I cannot see Fenris wanting a child with the mage blood on both side, but I think he'd step up if it were to happen. But I just don't think it would happen anyway.

Good luck with that Anders romance...
[snipped greatness]
My current run resembles that so much. I'm in Act 3 and keep thinking - "So, I can still switch back to Fenris, right? Right?"

He'd be super-protective, to be sure. Wouldn't want to be the poor guy who takes his daughter to he prom, knowing Fenris would be sitting out on the porch all night, sharpening that big sword and just waiting for him to bring he girl home late and give DaddyFenris an excuse to get glowy.

In one of the rampant plot monsters in my skull, I imagine my (barren) Hawke coming home with some helpless orphan waif she rescued and asking Fenris, "Can we keep her?" So he's a daddy in my head, just not the actual sperm donor, lol.Sue wrote...
Arryn-Sun, I think I would agree with you. Between the horrid process he went thru and the lyrium in his system as a constant would most likely have some kind of side effect.
But, since these are our fantasy and we can dream what we will, He and my mage will have a family that he has missed out on. He will be a great father, ;p

Boo I don't remember that Wynne part. I must have been too busy drooling over Alistair.
But I prefer my rogue Hawke anyway...

Honestly, having a mage child just sounds horrific to me. The constant horror over a fate you can't even protect them from, and at an age when they're at their most vulnerable, least logical and least prepared to handle the dangers of tricky demons trying to sneak into them. I think it'd kill me.
That said, this is fantasy, so I like to imagine they eventually have little magelets and everything works out fine, those outstanding Amell genes keep the kids strong and Hawke's training makes them resist possession, and Fenris is totes okay with it, maybe he was concerned during the pregnancy but then he sees those adorable little half-elven faces and falls for them immediately and becomes papa wolf. And they have a happy little family in a farm in rebuilt Lothering or some such place while the rest of the world makes war and ignores them.
I know this probably would never be canon. Heroes can't have kids or happy endings. But I intend to keep that fantasy going at least until it all gets ruined with horrible cameos in DA3.

I can't imagine them having a planned biological kid. I don't think Fenris would be all gung-ho about spawning little mages. However, accidents can still happen. If magic birth control were 100% effective there would be fewer b*stards running around Thedas.

I would like to think that after DA3 and all this war ends, they would eventually retire and try to have a peaceful life - after all, 10 + (how many in DA3) years of adventuring and killing are enough for a lifetime, I'd say. Also, I prefer to think of Fenris without a mage Hawke, because it does make things easier. XD

The thing is, I don't think this matters regarding kids. The Amell line is notorious for magic and Malcolm Hawke was an apostate. Even if Hawke isn't a mage, the chances are higher than normal that the kid will have magic, especially since it's in Fenris' line as well. I imagine most Tevinter bloodlines are saturated with magic.KakashiMorph wrote...

Edit: That's not to say it's a guarantee, just that I don't think it matters whether Hawke is actually a mage or not.

That's true, I was thinking that if the mother isn't herself a mage, then the probabilities lower a bit (assuming that magic heritage works like the rest of our genes).

That was the first thing I thought of when I was doing the Fenris romance, after hearing them in the end credits after my first run. That song was perfect for an Anders romance but Kiss with a Fist pretty well sums up how I think a real-life rivalmance with Fenris would work.
hahaha, no ****. i can just imagine it soooo well.
