That just means your Sims will be having twins.
Agreed. I think ignoring the emotional growth he went through in the game or equating it to Hawke 'healing him with love' does a disservice to his character. Granted, Hawke providing him with emotional support (romanced or not) probably helps, but Fenris did the heavy lifting.Aeryn-Sun wrote...
I agree with all this, and I want to add that I have never seen him as being "healed" by Hawke, whether love is involved or not. The healing that occurs in his life is his own. It's not dependent on anyone else, aside from physically backing him up and being a half-decent companion over the years. Unlike Merrill, for example, who comes across to me as incredibly emotionally dependent on Hawke (though I do like her romance quite a lot), Fenris is actively striving to work his demons out on his own. And by the endgame, he's made good progress.
Even though I personally don't run with the notion of baby Fenrises, I think he'd be a fine father. He's protective, he's loyal, he loves Hawke, and these are the kinds of things that are nurtured by parenthood - the negative things can be changed, or can be adapted to family life. I have four kids and it really is life altering, not just on the outside but the inside as well. At least in my case, I'm a completely different person than I was nine years ago. So, Fenis as a good papa isn't all that hard for me to believe.

Oh sure...curse me!

Like I said before, whether or not you can see them with kids depends more on your Hawke than on Fenris. Personally, I can't help but see Hawke not as a paragon of heroism, god amongst mere mortals type (like Shepard), but just a regular man/woman, dedicated to protecting their family, who lost everything s/he cared about to the madness of Kirkwall. My Hawke did everything for the sake of family. Other people see Hawke differently, as the badass meant to lead the mage armies to freedom. To each their own.

Haha, I felt the same way! Which is funny because my Hawke was a goody-goody, but as a mage she supported mage rights so Fenris was always getting rival points with her. I wished I'd had, "*sulk out of the room like a kicked puppy*" option on the wheel when he lashed out about the Blade of Mercy gift. xDTashash wrote...
Ok, so the first two playthroughs I friendmanced Fenris, just to get a handle on things and then I did the rivalmance...Whoa! Feisty Elf! But what really threw me was the Blade of Mercy scene - OK, OK, OK! You don't want the sword, I get it! Please don't kill me over it!

I just make him use it anyway and consider that my revenge, but I'd really like a "throw it at his feet and stomp off" option.vocalemuse wrote...

LOL, I know! Mine too. xD Although at least with Aveline she was okay with it in the end and thanked my Hawke since she appreciated that the gift was given to her out of thoughtfulness, but as Tash said by this point with Fenris they had just gotten back together and then he takes her head off verbally for giving him a gift. x_xAris Ravenstar wrote...
He even said the sword was worth a whole lot, didn't he? Couldn't he at least have appreciated it because of that? Then again, Fenris has never been one to be impressed by opulence. Still, with him and Aveline my Hawke was feeling like the absolute worst gift-giver ever. :<

Yeah that's rough, but since I was playing sarcastic Hawke it fit with her usual lack of tact and taste.Aris Ravenstar wrote...

On the subject of Fenris as a dad:
Varric: (chuckles)
Fenris: What?
Varric: Remember what I said to you all those years ago? About how if your brooding was any more impressive women would have broody babies in your honor?
Fenris: Our child does not brood.
Varric: Give it a few years, if the kid takes after you at all then you'll be in for a real treat.
Fenris: Why is that?
Varric: (chuckles) Mesere, I suggest that you get used to the phrase "Do as I say not as I do."
