What could happen, if Isabela wrote some 'friend fiction' for Fenris and Hawke and then 'let' Fenris read it:

Fenris: (to paper) ... that is not how my powers work... ... ... ... (to Hawke, eyes wide) ... that is not how my powers work! D8

Hawke: (holds him) I know, sweetie. It's okay...

Fenris: No, it's not... nothing is okay. Nothing will //ever// be okay again.

Hawke: shhhhshhhh (holds)

Isabela: Hawke, just so you know, even if you kill me for this? Worth it.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA~~~ Yes!!!!!

Here's a queston, just how exactly do Fenris' markings work?  Are they like enchantments that allow Fenris to phase through things or do they act as a focus for some sort of minor magical abillity?

I wonder this because Danarius' pockets didn't have a Fenris owner's manual in them. And I am a lore nerd.

well technically, it seems as though only his fist does that (or that's all he would demonstrate in public), BUT if his fist can do that, SURELY his whole body can, yes?

Well then a demonstration is in order

I...hahahahaa I lol'd and drooled a little too :D

I have seen stories post up in Deviantart, can you post there?

Good idea, though apparently I'm too stupid to figure out how to post them properly. :pinched: Still, the next bit of Little Pieces can be found here if anyone would like to read it.

And now I'm going to go blow things up with Fenris because that was all just too frustrating for me.

I....God.....:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: Hawke was so broken it made me feel broken too :crying::crying::crying::crying:

The more times I play the game, the more I think none of my Hawkes would handle the role of Champion very well at all. Damaged heroes are more entertaining than emotionally sound ones, though. Well, I think so anyway. :)

Selected 'Leave, I don't want to see you again." While you are in the cell. And that quest will pop up after you got the ashes and the Eamon was cured.

I think we're entering Gameplay and Story Segregation territory. Any force Danarius brings to take on Hawke is going to be too small, because it's a video game, Hawke is the protagonist, and one way or another anyone who takes him or her on is going to get a faceful of murder.

I don't think so. :P

1) Hawke doesn't have to automatically win just because she's the protagonist. Remember your pleasant stay in Fort Drakon in Origins? For that matter, remember the Qunari spellcaster at the end of Act II in DA2 who stuns and nearly kills your party if not for Meredith? Remember the bloodmage in the Blooming Rose who almost gets Hawke to cut her own throat? Hawke isn't invulnerable. As an unscrupulous, powerful mage, Danarius had a whole range of options to get Fenris to cooperate.

2) On the other hand, what you said is the exact reason I'm criticisng Danarius's gambit here, because it's what makes his whole approach to it wrong. Luring Fenris into a trap gives him every opportunity to prepare for the possibility of it being a trap, including calling on his ties to the Champion who freaking killed the Arishok, potentially in single combat. I doubt a magister of Tevinter would underestimate an enemy like that. By contrast, the fact that Fenris is a close friend of the Champion's living in Hightown seems to be common knowledge. Ambushing him with his sister as bait simply isn't necessary.

I agree with your every word. The whole Danarius ambush have bothered me as well. I just refuse to believe that Varric wouldn't get hold on this beforehand and speaking about  underestimating Hawke...it's not arrogance it's stupidity and a total blindnes at that point of the game. If you send Fenriel to the Dailish and then to Tevinter for his further trening you recive a friendly letter from him at the start of act 3. Where he describes the madness of this place and mentions Hawkes legendary fame in Tevinter. Hawkes battle against the Arishok is on everyone's lips. Fenris's connection to the Champion is also common knowledge so yeah...You show up with bunch of thugs on Champions territory in the middle of the day with a pathetic bait on your hook...way to go Danarius, way to goPosted Image

I asked recently on this thread, among other things, if one had to be female to appreciate Fenris. Now, i don't really think that is true, but it was interesting to see in the following survey that Fenris had the largest difference out of any of the companions between what men think and women think. So i feel, at least, somewhat justified in asking that question in the first place :)

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/304/index/6858999

Of course men seem to like the two romanceable female companions, Isabela and Merrill, a whole lot more than women do (i can't see why! Isabela is so cool and Merrill is so sweet!), but the difference isn't nearly as large as with Fenris.

At least both genders seem to pretty much agree that Varric is a great guy and that Sebastian sucks.

I know if your 100 rivalry or friendship with him he'll stay with you but I didnt get to 100 rivalry in time :(

Edit:And I must say,I loved Anders but I feel that Fenris had the better romance.Anders didnt give you a kiss or hug or anything at the end D: It was romantic but I was like "thats it Anders?" I have been spoiled with Fenris' kissing scenes XD

Okay, so I've been reading through the thread (so many posts!) and I just wanted to throw a little something out there to get people talking: I'm currently writing a DA fanfic kinda playing on when Fenris spares his sister (yeah, even my Hawkette/I thought he'd regret it later) but I've done a slight spin off where it comes back later to bite my girl in the backside i.e. Varania goes all "Blood-Mage-Crazy" and kidnaps my Hawke to use in some crazy ritual. Now the story aside (it's still a work in progress) I was curious to hear your views on Varania if you chose to spare her: from my digging it seems like she willingly went along with Danarius's plan to bait and trap her brother in exchange for her to become the Magister's Apprentice, plus she also slates Fenris at the end "Freedom was no boon..." which sounds to me like she's jealous of him (sorry if I was pointing out the obvious XD). So, would she actually have the evil/jealous tendency to come back and try her hand at killing everyone if she was let go?

Just be careful that your Varania doesn't seem arbitrarily crazy or just stupid, like Grace does (the bloodmage who tries to kill the hostage in Best Served Cold). Make sure her actions make sense. Why would she go after Hawke, specifically, and how would she know how to do so? How would she manage it without making it seem like Hawke conveniently falls into damsel-in-distress territory to accommodate drama? Etc.

You make some good points there, I may have to rethink things....She was never going to be crazy like Grace (man, I regretted leaving her alive....backstabbing mage :pinched:) but I kinda thought Varania may have tried to sell Fenris out after she escapes, I'm sure even with Danarius dead, Fenris's markings would still fetch a high price for someone who wanted them, right?

Although, my Hawke was hardly going to be the "damsel-in-distress" type anyway, she'd probably take a few of the mercenaries down with her before she was overpowered

Yeah, that would make a lot of sense, particularly given how Fenris talks about slaves being stolen to and fro between different masters.

Magister: You there! Slave! I shall be relieving you of those markings!

Hawke: (sighs) Really, another Magister?

Fenris: I think I shall tear this one's spleen out.

Varric: Again? You did that to that other one last week. At least try to mix things up.

Fenris: What if I beat him to death with his own spine?

Varric: Eh, that happened to the Magister that came here last Tuesday.

Fenris: Use his head for a wallop ball?

Magister: Actually, nevermind the markings, I have...other things to do. (runs away)

@Apirka: That's awesome! May I use that the next time I get ToP, since I'm still an XBox luddite? :P

@Doc - hahahaha!

I have to say, a line from DA:O comes into my head sometimes, after the party tears apart yet another gang of thugs (or Fenris-hunters): "And people actually voluntarily attack you? Are they just stupid?" (Thanks to the Denerim guard captain in DA:O)

Here's a little something that kept my thoughts occupied for a while. Just a silly note really...
Im no writer so be gentle ;-) Got kinda long as well.Hope you enjoy it.

This takes place in the "Hanged Man" few years after everything has settled down. Varric being a proud new owner of the place, Isabela's ship docked in Kirkwall for a short visit, Hawke and Merril busy with the preparations for Carvers wedding...he did find his way back to "Peaches" after all Posted Image

Isabela: Sooo...you and Hawke been together for quite some time now...
Fenris: Indeed.
Isabela: Well...I was just wondering...
Fenris: NO!
Isabela: ...but I didn't even...
Fenris: No, I do not share...and No, you can't watch either!
Isabela: (letting out a frustrated frown) Oh, let me finish the bloody sentence, will you?!
Why do you always assume it's only about sex with me?!
Fenris: (raising one eyebrow in a slight disbelieve and sending the pirate a questioning look)
Isabela: Wait...don't answear that, point taken. Anyway...I was trying to ask a serious question.
Fenris: Oh? You did? Now, I start to worry...do I really want to hear this?
Isabela: Oh, get hold of yourself!
Isabela: Did you ever considered asking her to marry you?
Fenris: And how exactly did that thought appear in this little head of yours?
Isabela: Well, isn't it what people like you two normaly do?
Fenris: What do you mean "people like us two"?
Isabela: You...you know. What's this nonsense called...people in loooove (she dragged teasingly)
Fenris: Maybe, but I still fail to see how is this any concern of yours. Did she...say something?
Isabela: Who, Hawke?...Are you joking? Of course not! Andraste's ******!
I think she'd rather be eaten by the dragon then slipp it out of her tongue.
It's just...I saw this look in her eyes the other day, when we were helping "Peaches" to pick a wedding dress.
I've never seen Hawke staring like that before...

Fenris looked away drifting deep into his own thoughts.

Isabela:
(rasing her eyebrows with excitment, a wicked smile on her face)
Isabela: Awww, how cute! You did think about it!
Fenris: This conversation ends now!
Isabela: Don't you worry kitten, your secret stays safe with me!
Fenris: Stop it! There is no secret...I didn't...I...it's not...
Fenris: Im done talking to you.

Few days later at Hawkes estate...

Hawke: Fenris...you've been awfully silent last couple of days.Is something wrong?
Fenris: No, it's nothing. The town is so quiet lately. Sometimes I miss the old days...excitment of the battle.
Hawke: Riiight...(he was such a terrible liar)
Well, it's not exactly like we just hang around picking up daisies.
Maybe we're not out as often as before but we still get some action.
Did you already forget last months expedition?
Fenris: No, I didn't.
Hawke: So what is it really about?
Fenris: (After a short pause) We never...discussed that but...what do you think about marriage?
Hawke: Marrige? (she repeted surrprised) I must admit..I didn't see that one coming...
Why are you bringing this up now? Is it because of my brothers wedding?
Wait...did he come to you with some sort of rediculous...oh, you little brat! Im going to tear him apart!

Fenris: No, no it's not like that, and Carver has nothing to do with it.
(He wasn't sure if he should continue with this subject but there was really no escape from this now)
Fenris: I was just thinking...if, hypotheticly speaking...if I was to ask for your hand...What would you say?
(She could almost hear her jaw drop as her heartbeat raised and she could feel the warmth of a blush sneaking into her cheeks...Was he really asking this?)
Hawke: Well...(Trying to catch her breath and compose herself) ...hypotheticly speaking...
(Then gaining back her confidence and sending him encouraging smile)
Hawke: Actually...I do not dwell on "hypotheticly". If you want to know I guess you will have to ask. Properly...
Fenris: You are not going to make it easy on me, are you?
Hawke: Do I ever...?

(She asked giggling sligtly while she planted a gentle kiss on his cheek...)
