Rivalry. I watched my husband do the friendship path and it kind of gave me an enabler vibe. (When even Flemeth is warning Merrill that she's walking blind, it just doesn't seem all that bright of Hawke to support her obsession. ) Overall, it was very touching and tragic, but not hopeless. Fenris will always win out, but Merrill's romance is my second favorite.

Well, I didn't have many bugs to start with. The only ones I had was "the slow" bug with Isabela's buff, Aveline's armor upgrade and Varric's concern about my romance with Fen...

I solved Isabela's problem before patch with savegame editor.
It looks like Avelin's armor works now as well, but still no Varric talk
Was fiddling with different saves on both friend and rival and no sign of it so far.
I have no idea what exactly triggers the quest either so I think I'll just start a new PT.
Going for mage friendmance Fen this time. Im a sucker for those puppy eyes and this melting voice of his
About time for "Mage Hunter" achievement as well..while playing a mage? Yes, sounds like fun
Im also tempted to replay my Landsmeet save so I can have Alistair coming back as a GW. I've seen this cameo on yt and it's my favorite of all three (in my current save he is a king married to my warden)
The problem is, once I played DA2 everything feels like slow motion in Origins. I can't stand it!

Hi Folks...

I usually hang out in the Anders thread and lurk here a bit as well. I just wanted to share something that Fenris said last night to Isabela that I absolutely loved, and which I'm sure you've probably already experienced. However, it made me rethink starting a romance with Anders with this particular Hawke.

After Fenris left my Hawke, I was walking around with Anders, Fenris and Isabela when Anders starts in on "I don't know what Hawke sees in you..." After Fenris answers that it was the hardest thing he had to do, Isabela pipes up and says to them both to get over themselves - they are acting like two dogs around a **** in heat. Fenris replies something to the effect that they are not talking about her, but about Hawke. I thought that was quite a slam, if I'm understanding it correctly.

I generally like Isabela except she had been annoying me with coming on to Fenris after he'd left, so the timing of this exchange was very appreciated by my rogue Hawke. I'd never gotten this dialogue before and it was a nice touch.

I really wish that 'hardening' option that we had in Origins is in DA2. I'd harden Merrill in a heart beat. And LOL are your comics!!!

Still no Varric talk?! I hope they fixed it on the console. And I'm glad Aveline's armor stuff will finally show up. I had a weird graphics glitch where Hawke's Ames were just...danglin in the midair lol! I dont have too many bugs but I'm ready for a clean pt.

All his laughs are just...
The one in act 1, after he throws the bottle at the wall, and sarcastiHawke's comment. He does this little laugh which ends with a "hmmm" sound and him looking down and kind of towards the fire...

If you have a one night stand with Isabela prior to Fenris romance she will add: " I did her(Hawke) too"  which pretty much shuts them both up very nicely. On the other note, thing whith Isabela and Fenris is, if your Hawke stays faithful to Fenris he will dismiss all Isabelas efforts to seduce him and cut her flirting short. If you move on to another companion however, Fenris will have a fling with her so brace yourself for some steamy Isabela/Fenris banters.

And yes, there should be a scean with Varric talking to Hawke about his/hers LI. It's a quest called "Friendly Concern" that apparently triggered only for Anders lovers so far while it should for all 4 LI's.

Sarcastic Hawke is brilliant in Fenris' conversations . Helps that he's one of the few who gets/plays along with her humor.

Hawke: "You sound like you are about to ask for a loan..."
Fenris: "Well, this mansion does require some upkeep..."

Or

Hawke: "You could have offered me a glass first, you know?"
Fenris: "There is more in the cellar if you are really interested."
Hawke: "Perish the thought. How else would you decorate the walls?"

And she makes him smirk and chuckle. It feels like a feat on its own

And... Varrick's friendly concerns conversation still doesn't trigger ( At least not reatroactively where the conversation criteria is fulfilled (1 or more qunari quests or night terrors quest done). Just tried it with old save, redoing the bitter pill. Varrick is still obvious .

Just thought some of you other Fengirls might enjoy this little tip I have found:

1. Buy Sims Medieval (it's pretty fun so far).
2. Create a new Hero Sim (male) and choose voice number two, set down at the low (bass) end frequency.
3. Make him look super-foxy - be sure to go into the 'advanced' options for ears on the head, and make 'em nice and pointy.
4. Get your Hero Sim to cook something.

Success!  You now get to hear 'Fenris' making all sorts of nice 'mmm' and 'aah' sounds (and saying strange made-up words) whenever you like.  Turns out Gideon Emery has done a bunch of voices for Sims Medieval too - I thought I was cracking up at first, when I started hearing Fenris' voice everywhere.

Hawke: Oh, I don't know...change your clothes...join the chantry"

Thanks for the warning - I don't have Isabela much as a companion so I will just have to remain blissfully ignorant of their sex talk. If I don't hear it, it didn't happen - at least in this case, lol.

So it looks like we will need yet another new Hawke to trigger the Varric scene for Fenris (and others)... Oh well, it will be nice to have it.

Also, I was doing my daily Wiki surf (and getting my daily dose of Fenris) when I read up on Danarius and found this quote:

"You weren't always this way, Fenris. Once upon a time you had affection for me. I remember it fondly."

Okay, I might need to go back and play this mission again but when on earth does he say that? Unless I've missed a dialogue option somewhere down the line.

I dunno if it's just my dirty mind warping things, but that quote made me shudder when I think back and apply it to everything Fenris mentioned he went through. Danarius is creepy...and his swagger is even creepier (did they use the female animation for him? ).
Poor Fenris...I'm glad I killed that Magister *wants to see scene of Fenris killing Danarius again*

While we're on the subject of Gideon, I do think he'll be in Mass Effect 3. I hope he does the voice for the new character James Sanders...it'd be awesome...really awesome
