You get that line if you try to negotiate, I think it was the middle option.

I wish we got a little more background on him, at least a codex entry or something. Perhaps if Fenris shows up in an expansion/DA3 we will learn more. I'm sure Danarius had apprentices or rivals that would see capturing Fenris as a good way to boost their status.

Just thought some of you other Fengirls might enjoy this little tip I have found:

1. Buy Sims Medieval (it's pretty fun so far).
2. Create a new Hero Sim (male) and choose voice number two, set down at the low (bass) end frequency.
3. Make him look super-foxy - be sure to go into the 'advanced' options for ears on the head, and make 'em nice and pointy.
4. Get your Hero Sim to cook something.

Success!  You now get to hear 'Fenris' making all sorts of nice 'mmm' and 'aah' sounds (and saying strange made-up words) whenever you like.  Turns out Gideon Emery has done a bunch of voices for Sims Medieval too - I thought I was cracking up at first, when I started hearing Fenris' voice everywhere.

Mmmmm I wanted to get sims medieval too but got really carried away with DA2, this rekindles my interest. :)

While we're on the subject of Gideon, I do think he'll be in Mass Effect 3. I hope he does the voice for the new character James Sanders...it'd be awesome...really awesome

Unless James Sanders is a red shirt :P

But I'd love to hear more of him in the bioware titles :). He is listed in credits for the Old republic too, though it doesn't say which voices he does there. Jennifer Hale is voicing female republic trooper... it's too bad I prefer to play glass cannon magic uses :/.

The "affection" line isn't anywhere as creepy as the "Do I detect a note of jealousy? It's understandable. The lad is rather skilled, isn't he?" line.

Die, Danarius, die. Forever. In a pit of dying.

*Glances at GS giftcards* Perhaps it's time for a little trip...

And who's this James Sanders guy? (Mass Effect newbie here-- taking advantage of sequel celebration, but only in small doses. I don't really care for Fem!Shepard's VA, and I can't ever get my Shepard to look nice, and after say... an hour of ME2, I'm going: "I miss Fenris. And magic. And hitting people with my staff. And Fenris.")

Ahah, I think this is the general reaction fans moved from DA Universer to ME Universe. I got into ME way before Dragon Age and I have no problem with that.

Humph...perhaps I got my hands on KOTOR (Carth Onasi) first, before NWN (Valen Shadowbreath).

Or perhaps I am a BW junkie.

He's a noob, apparently. Supposedly he's hanging around to ask stupid questions so people who jump into the third installment without playing the first two won't be out of the loop.

I fear he'll be the Wesley Crusher, but I hope he'll turn out to be a secret spy and asking all those questions is just a way to pretend he's harmless and pump info out of Shepard. If him being a noob Shep has to take under his/her wing is his only purpose, I shall curse him for wasting valuable screentime that should belong to the characters I already love.

I played ME first, so I keep comparing LIs to Garrus (my favorite BioWare character). Fenris is the only one who has ever been able to compete. <3

Bleh, I agree with you there, I think that moves up a notch in the creepyness.  I have a sudden urge to write his death scene in my fanfic now

Well, at least in terms of badassery and having a voice that makes me swoon. <3

... I wonder what would happen if there was a rip in space-time and Garrus met Fenris. I mean, assuming the universe wasn't destroyed by pure, concentrated sexiness.

Loving the artwork everyone!  People are so talented *saves pictures* :P

Also, I was doing my daily Wiki surf (and getting my daily dose of Fenris) when I read up on Danarius and found this quote:

"You weren't always this way, Fenris. Once upon a time you had affection for me. I remember it fondly."

Okay, I might need to go back and play this mission again but when on earth does he say that? Unless I've missed a dialogue option somewhere down the line.

I dunno if it's just my dirty mind warping things, but that quote made me shudder when I think back and apply it to everything Fenris mentioned he went through. Danarius is creepy...and his swagger is even creepier (did they use the female animation for him? ).
Poor Fenris...I'm glad I killed that Magister *wants to see scene of Fenris killing Danarius again*

EDIT: Plus, I can't remember the dialogue from this screencap: images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110411214312/dragonage/images/thumb/b/b8/Questalone.jpg/830px-Questalone.jpg.

If these are main parts of the actual quest then so help me...work has killed my brain!

I was wondering the same thing about Danarius' swagger. They had to have used female animations for him... he sways his hips more than I do in real life. He is such a creep.

And I never got either of those lines in the game... looks like I will have to replay that scene too and try not to move into the "okay let's kill this old bat NOW" mindset too quickly. Seeing those quotes from him makes him even more creepy. And it's not just your dirty mind warping things, that line definitely gives a certain impression that just makes me feel kind of sick. Ugh. Danarius, I hate you.

and Fenris are my favorite Bioware characters. I'm so glad that Garrus
is coming back in ME3... if there is more Fenris in the future too, then
I will be a very happy camper. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Heh, I guess I'm one of the pack then.

I'm pretty sure I could learn to deal with the voice-- it's mainly the appearance. All the Shepards I've made so far have HUGE lips, and it drives me crazy. In DA2, I feel I can't get Hawke's lips large enough-- in ME2, I feel like I can't get Shepard's lips small enough. (I don't know why I'm so damn picky about my character's appearance...)

Garrus is the alien guy with the fighting through antique shops ("but only if they're classy") line, right? *Goes to YouTube to check*

I haven't seen him yet exception to YT videoes-- but I already like that guy. :D

I'm not a fan of Garrus romance the way it is written into ME2 (hell, Shepard is facepalm and groan-worthy in all of the ME2 romances), but I am a huge fan of Garrus :) Was sold on the voice the moment we meet him at the council chambers and sold on the character the moment he shot the guy at Dr. Michelle's clinic. So, yus, he definetely shares badassery and cool voice effect with Fenris :P

If you guys haven't played Mass Effect games I definately recommend :).

Me2 Spoiler warning in the video, but... definately getting Fenris vibe here :P

 Yay!  More Garrus fans! <3

I haven't played Mass Effect in a loooong time, I might start up a new file when DA2 has loosened its grip on me (which might take a while, kehehe).

Yes, that's him! He's even better if you've played the first one, because he went through a lot of changes in ME2, but is still mostly the same character, just with some added layers. He has a ton of depth, IMO, and his relationship with Shepard is really touching. I also find his species to be the most interesting in the ME world.

And it doesn't hurt that he's got a great VA, who not only has a wonderful voice but is totally awesome with his fans. <3

And I know what you mean about Shepard's looks, the character creator is so bad in comparison to the DA one.

I loved his romance. I think like Fenris' romance it's not so much about what's there as the subtext. I had worried for a while that it was panning out to be a purely 'friends with benefits' thing, but those concerns were allayed by the end of it. I felt like it was a lot deeper than say, Jacob's, just because of the history and trust between them.

Of course, I spent the whole first game wanting him and never thinking I'd get him, so I would've been satisfied with much less than what we got. :P

And I agree with your other comment, I was sold on Garrus right away. Boy does he know how to make an entrance, especially in ME2.

I stay unromanced in ME2 (f!Shepard only, as I found Tali more irresistible so I have my m!Shepard romanced her), but I do found Garrius interesting.

Both Garrius and Thane made excellent entrance. BioWare is specialise in that area.

*Off watching Fenris' grand entrance on YT*

Don't mention Jacob, please. :P I had an urge to bleach my ears after the unavoidable flirt Shepard does on the Normandy. Nothing against Jacob, he's a good character with a really cool loyalty mission, I just wish I could unhear the way Shepard comes on to him.

And I hear you about the first game. I was pining after him too, haha.

Hmm. Fenis art time!

I feel your pain, Rheia. Jacob is the one male LI I've never romanced, just because I couldn't stand the way FemShep acted around him. So OOC. After watching his cutscene video, I realized that I obviously didn't miss anything. I'm determined to believe his entire romance was a joke option. :P

Wow. Gorgeous art, and that video is really well done.
