I have heard that if Hawke sleeps with Isabela, even if its the casual option, that may interfere with romancing Fenris later. Is that a bug or is it working as intended?

 Idk I prefer  folks that  lived a bit  rough to those that  know   no hardship and  cant  imagine  real life  from thier  castle windows.  DG does  write good tho!!   Luv the  story  Tankgirl and  the   pics and  videos everyone posted! 
   OOO also why   couldnt he haev  wiped his memory ,, [ danarius] then performed the   lyrium, would  still make sense  that Fen;s  first  memory was the branding.. I    imagine  them   carvign a  bit  and  magically bonding the  lyrium,  all  bad stuff  either way.

If you sleep with anyone else once you started romancing Fenris it will automatically end the romance with him and cannot be restarted.

Not sure if it's a bug or not, but as far as I've seen the patch doesn't fix it(might not be correct. I haven't got a chance to play it yet, but I haven't seen anyone say if it was "fixed" or not). Think it's just how Fenris is; not a bug.

@ Helen0rz , I agree, Fenris was obviously a strong person before, one who cared greatly for his family and the idea of freedom. It would have been unlikely that the person he was before would have stood for the humiliation of being leashed if he could remember his earlier life and values.
To control Fenris Danarius needed to remove his memory.

True, Shacary. Kinda like 'wipe wipe' and Fenris wakes up confused and lost because he doesnt know whats going on or who he is and then gets taken to a room and BOOM painful branding...and that become his first memory

Some have said if you sleep with her and then keep it casual or break it off or whatever that you can still romance him, but others have said you can't. It's very confusing to me, so I just steer clear of Isabela when I'm trying to tap dat elf.

Completely, yes.  My first PT during "Alone" I thought so, when it is Varania betrayed Fenris, I thought, "OMG, it's Goldana all over again."  Honestly, though, I sympathized more with Varania than I ever did Goldana.  I just think Goldana has had way more opportunities than Varania ever did.  I was always sorry there was no "slap Goldana" option in DAO.

I've romanced Fenris twice so far.  First time, hawke slept with no one but Fenris.  Second time around, douchy m!hawke slept with Isabela (didn't start the romance with her and just picked 'one time only' type of dialogue after), slept with Anders and broke his sandwich loving heart AND then slept with Fenris.

Note:  m!hawke was on the friendship path so I am not sure if this effects things or not.  You can sleep with others, but you cannot start a 'romance' with them.  Hump and dump appeared to be ok.  But your mileage may vary.  I've heard people having all sorts of trouble after they've slept with a different character first.

If I'll ever menage to romance anyone else it will have to be by leaving Fenris recruitment quest untouched.

No, Varania is opportunist as well, just with a better attitude. I bet she only replied to the letter he send her AFTER she took it to get Danarius's attention

I did that...on my first pt, without knowing anything. Anders had my fors because he was a returning character goddd And it hurt so bad

Yeah I've heard of others having the same problem.  I'm not sure if I was just lucky or if the type of romance had something to do with it.  I've spoken to people that did everything right and just couldn't get Fenris to behave like a good boy.

Certainly would be nice to find out if this is a bug or expected behavior.

Oh, I agree, believe me.  I just think Goldana is the one of them that never really NEEDED as much as Varania did.  I pity Varania.  But Goldana just ticks me off for blowing everything that she's been given and blaming it utterly on everyone else.
