What if the twist with Meg is that he had a wife or lover, but she's not dead. And he finds her after he romanced Hawke?

Ooh, the drama. Heartbreak. Gnashing of teeth. Cries of woe.

...Tears for the coffeepots of Bioware. Evil, evil plan.

I really don't want the cliched "help me remember stuff" companion.

Though really I hope his background means Fenris wants to protect the weak and doesn't mind a noble! goodtoshoes! Hawke.

I wonder if Fenrir has some connection to Isabela, who was apparently shipping slaves when the Siren's Call was destroyed?

If she's able to be killed by Hawke she dies. <_<

I don't know.. Apparently she can be avoided all together. I don't see her as the type for slavery though. I prefer the suggestion someone made earlier that she might have instead been setting the slaves free (this may or may not include Fenris).

I dont think he could have a dead wife since he was a slave.
Perhaps we will help him regain his memories?

We don't know when he became a slave though, so it's possible. Or at least a dead lover, if not wife.

I think he's been a slave for a while, that's just my opinion though Posted Image

Hopefully they will mix it up...
"I can't remember anything!"
"Do you want to...?"
"Ehhh, no, not really. Let's go kill stuff."

If she's shipping slaves... (How do we know that she's shipping slaves? Is that on her profile page?) I can imagine the banter between Isabela and Meg if you have them both in your party. Oh, the acid remarks.

Since Meg lost his memories due to Lyrium infusion, he can't whine to us about his dead wife. Yay!

Then his cute elven ass stays amnesiac.  Probably better that way, since I doubt he wants to remember everything that happened as a slave.

You know what?  I'd take this soap opera disaster over the dead ex thing.  At least it's new.  Guy probably has enough crap in his backstory from being a Tevinter slave, though his amnesia is probably a blessing in disguise sometimes.  No need to add MORE crap.  After a certain point (unfortunately, like with Thane), my ability to believe that someone's life just failed THAT MUCH is stretched pretty thin.

I think that if we're going to learn about anything from his past, it'll be because of a confrontation with his former master who will then start blabbing about Fenris' origin.

Is it wrong of me to pray that he is voiced by Justin Bieber, if only to hear the collective screams of anguish of a thousand fangirls (and bois, I guess) as their romantic interests in him are suddenly and violently extinguished?

Because I don't care if it's wrong if it feels so right.

Though many Bioware characters tend to have pretty tragic pasts... Miranda and her daddy issues, Tali and her daddy issues, Liara and her mommy issues, Morrigan and her mommy issues... ;) I miss Jacob. Nice, normal(ish) Jacob, who had daddy issues but was still a voice of reason. I like them rational characters. I'm hoping Aveline is more Jacob-ish than Wynne-ish.

Only if he sings about banelings.  That would be so worth it.

IMO the worst offender was BG2's Cernd. Seriously, that guy was some BioWare writer's buttmonkey on a bad day.

Bottom line, NPCs:  no trying to out-angst the PC.  I don't care if you have half your limbs, no soul, and a whole barrel of dead exes.  I guarantee the PC's life can and often will suck much more than yours does.  So get some perspective kthnxbai
