Also, to my fellow Fenris-Excited-Friends-Of-Awesome-Friends.

When Gaider pops in, I think it is fair to say we should pull back gently on specific questions concerning whether or not Fenris had a former lover or grievances about certain possibilities. I don't think its bad to speculate this when he's not around, but for the sake of courtesy, when we know he is on, its fair to pull back on 'Gaider! tell me he doesn't have a former lover!!!' and other such questions in this vein, because it may frighten him to the point of not answering further questions in the future.

Just my opinion. :D You all are super chill and I understand the enthusiasm! Just keep yo cool ladies. Douse in ice water.

I completely agree!

Speaking of which...Ninja i think you should remove the pic :PIt's kinda...intriguing...and Mr Gaider might run if he sees it.

Speaking of voice actors, i was watching petrilude's nutcracker makeup (he is a makeup artist) on youtube today and i was thinking how i LOVE his voice xD

He's really talented...and tan, like Fenris.

I was just going to pull the discussion back to VAs.

Personally, I would to hear Sam A. Mowry as Fenris' voice. He's more familiar to me as Kessler from inFamous and Alexander from Amnesia (I spent all night trying to figure out Alexander's voice, for that matter.) As you can see in the link, he's worked mostly on video games. Another bigger title is Penumbra, in which he played Dr. Eminiss.

Anyway, I'd like to draw your attention to Kessler. Here. That's what I think is the perfect voice for the character I'm imagining Fenris is. It's probably not him, of course. Most of the suggestions are unlikely. But that's what I'd like to hear.

Alexander's voice is incredible, so dark and deep...but i don't really see it for Fenris, i'd rather see it for something grim (The Architect maybe?).

I found the theme song to Fenris.

Funny, I was rather thinking about www.youtube.com/watch

"just gonna stand there and watch me burn,
but that's alright because I like the way it hurts"

Is it awful that I find his pain sweet?
I am awfully intrugued by his character the more I hear about him, Li or not.

Oh I don't think David is quite as sensitive as that. Pretty sure he's used to this sort of thing.

Anyway I think I don't mind the no touching idea because there's a lot of other works that have done that dynamic very well, which other people have listed in this thread. And hey! There're no scars on his lips, which is more than the poor couple from Pushing Daisies got. :3

lmao which brings about a whole new set of akward questions...like one has to wonder if making sexy time with
Fen..is hazordous to your Hawke's health never mind Fen... he's got lyrium is in his blood...does it stop there are is it in other fluids?...Cuz you know...the outcome could be really magical and sparkly even

... freak him out more than questions about former lovers.

Edit: because format hates me.

I know, technically David didn't answer that question yet, j/k. ;p

I'm more curious about that skin-touching dilemma. Does all his skin hurt or is it only where the Lyrium line thingies are visible? Because it is not in his face, so Hawke (or others) should be able to touch his face, right?

Fenris' background story sounds really interesting, even when he is not a LI (which would make a lot of people, including me, very sad) I still want to know more about it. ^^

Granted, I doubt he is that sensitive, it is still frustrating (at least from my point of view) when every response of his is followed up with "Don't read too much into it." or "I can't say much, because people will just read far too into it" or "Isn't he interesting as is?" or "I only meant what I said." instead of offering more information.

I feel like he spends more time pulling our reigns back in after the enthusiasm of seeing him on thread than he does giving us further insight. But that is my opinion :)

Also, on giving it more thought, it makes more sense to me for Fenris to be Bisexual than not IF he is a Love Interest.

I say this because his background of A) Amnesia (No memory of being loved) and B) Slavery (Respect and love does not come to mind in this career 'choice'). Male Hawke or Female Hawke, anyone comes along to show him kindness and teach him how to trust again is likely to create a bond that could be emotional and sex-positive in nature, regardless of species or gender.

Whether or not he is an LI, being bisexual makes more sense than not, regardless of his appearance. My two cents.

Yeah. As I was reading my post, I noticed it became a nature vs. nurture argument.
retract that, I am tired :)

I tried to get past that last night. It failed on epic porportions because I was blunt and not being a slippery, slimy little genius. Perhaps if I have a lot of caffine...

Writers are evil and manaic. Don't trust them-- they know evil mind tricks, 'specially if they're on caffine after midnight.

I didn't read the full dialogue, but don't blame yourself. This has been a consistent issue that I've noticed from most fans across all boards.

To draw deeper insight into the character, I think it is fair to ask more broad questions and not necessarily ones that may affect your personal tastes. XD XD

Here are a few questions I was speculating.

What paradigm of philosophy most fits Fenris, depending on your familiarity with the subject? (Stoicism? Foucault?)

Do the marks themselves react to living beings? Is it possible that living people can actually drain energy from Fenris by touching the marks, ala the Lyrium Planty-Things you saw in the fade?

On an ideal day of relaxation and recuperation, what would Fenris enjoy doing?

Some insight.

I've been listening to this while illustrating him.
BTW, Pseudo, beautiful Varric illustration. Incredibly silly :)

NIN rocks the slavery theme. A different kind of slavery though *cough*

@Holly: The Tron one? LOL yes that was too fun. Varric is an easy target for shenanigans.

It was hilarious. I've been mulling on one illustration where Varric uses Fenris as a lamp in the dark, so he can keep reading much to the elf's chagrin. But considering the holidays & time limitations, I have to keep fanart on the backburner until after new years :)
