...it's kind of scary, though. I swear I can hear Simon Templeman actually saying those lines at the end. Posted Image
...speaking of Loghain(spelling?)... I haven't got around to importing a save where he's alive at the end of Origins. Does he show up in DA2 if you spared him?

So, something I'm working on for the weekly prompt...  figured I'd post it now...

DAO Crossover (Things are about to get really cracky, y'all)

The words echoed in Nathaniel’s head.  “A mother****ing brood-off.”  He should not have reacted as he had to the elf, but he was honestly getting tired of hearing over and over again:  Oh that Fenris, he’s so hot right now.

Nathaniel Howe had been brooding for so many more years than that upstart. He had something to prove and prove it he would, on the runway of the glum.  He would see that elf’s dark and twisted background with an equally depressing one of this own.

The men prepared to each in turn that their walk down the runway, a myriad of onlookers peering at them with expectant  eyes.    Nathaniel stretched, muscled arms rising above his head, shoulders rolling back, eyebrows furrowing.    Fenris pumped his arm, swinging it about in the air as if throwing some phantom item at a wall.

They were ready, but there was only one problem…  “Who is going to judge this thing?”  Nathaniel had to admit Fenris’ voice had a lush quality to it, a deep timbre that was enough to melt the smallclothes off any nearby women or men.    Time had not been as kind to his voice, something gravely having happened to his tone, adding a roughened and hoarse edge to his speech that had not been there before.

From the thick of the crowd, blue eyes blazing steely, Loghain stepped forth, apparently visiting Kirkwall on very important Loghain business.  “I will.”

Loghain approached the two men, a hand placed upon each of their shoulders.  “This will be a straight brood-off.  Old school rules.  First brooder walks.  Second brooder duplicates then elaborates.”  He fisted a hand and pumped at the air.  “Alright men.  Let’s go to work.”  He snorted derisively.    “Brood.”

Is it bad no matter how many PTs I've done, my Hawke's have...almost the same personality? Or Er, very similar?

Well, I will say, my rouge (Helena) and Mage (Alice) share similar traits. I believe they'll shut themselves away. It's be something they can't never get over or will take a long long time to heal. If you know them before, they''ll at least talks to you and whanot, if you didn't know them, it's a wall you cannot past through. In the initial aftermath they'll shut down completely, but regain themselves days after...and then after that's it. Grieving and mote grieving, a whirlpool of sadness; after all they Lost all that were close and dear to them, you know?

My warrior Hawke (Amelia), she's the one with the mask on. She'll cry, scream and whatnot that very moment...get home and proceed to break things inside her mansion. The next day, mask will be on and she'll leave Kirkwall. She'll leave notes to her friends, but she won't stay, thered be no reason for her to stay any more. She'll leave before Fenris is buried, and she'll leave with something that belonged to Fenris so that he'll always be with her (not the favor, that goes with his body)

Idk what my next Hawke will be like...hmm....

@Shacary
I get you, I did the same, except...Er...I also felt betrayed and didn't feel right to make Alistair do something he didn't want to (plus Morrigan...WTF, no) so she decided she was gonna do it

Happy 1500, Fenris thread! <3

Tamsen, that is the funniest thing I've read today. And Loghain is clearly the only man qualified to judge a brood-off.

As for my Hawke's reaction to Fenris' death, I'm not sure I want to go down that road. :P I play mages, predominantly, so all of them would meet a rather ugly end. I could see deals with demons to try and bring him back, forbiden magic research, even ending up on the same path as Quentin, eventually.

@Shacary & Helen - I did the same thing in DA:O in my first playthrough with my elf mage. Felt really betrayed by Alistair (the whole him canning her seemed so ooc, really...), wasn't about to share him with Morrigan just so he could come back and my poor elf would have to watch him marry/have kids with someone else as the king (he refused to take her on as a mistress even), and decided Ultimate Sacrifice was the only way to go. It was kind of a kick in the pants to him as he was sitting there going "Noo, let ME do it!" when my mage just pretty much gave him the finger, grabbed a sword, and went on to become the hero that stopped the blight.

That's what you get, Alistair. You heartbreaker...

@Rheia - I'm with you there. I usually play mages, too... lots of demon deals would be attempted, lots of bad stuff would happen, it's just not a road I want to go down. I'm just going to pretend that it is impossible for Fenris to die of anything other than old age. Yep, that's the plan...

My three main Hawkes would react pretty differently to the death of Fenris.

Lyla (diplomatic warrior) is one of the few "goody-goody" characters I've created that I actually like. She's very lawful, very supportive of the templars because they are the law, and while she is not hateful or cruel to mages, she is positive that the Circle is where they belong. With that said, she approached Fenris with compassion and patience, and their relationship leans toward the softer, more trusting side. (She's the one "Serving" was based off of, where Fenris gives her a massage.) As the Viscount, she depends on him to be her oasis of normal/good/calm after she spends hours arguing with nobles. If she lost him, she would slowly lose her ability to focus until she eventually gave up her position, left Kirkwall and wandered for the rest of her life, trying to do good. Under the right circumstances, she could eventually recover, but she wouldn't be the same.

Vivian (aggressive blood mage) would pretty much lose what little bit of control she has over her temper and dive right off the deep end. She'd probably raise her own army and wipe out a few countries until her death finally caught up with her. Recovering would not be something she'd ever want, so it wouldn't happen.

Reese (sarcastic rogue) is a bit...touched in the head to begin with. She drinks, she frequents the Rose (when Fenris isn't around), she does incredibly stupid things in combat that really should have killed her a hundred times over. She can't take anything seriously, is terrified of her feelings for Fenris even though she can't live without him and won't take sides on anything. The only reason she supported the templars in the end was to spite Anders. (Her reaction to being named Champion, and later Viscount, was something like "lolwut?") If she lost Fenris, she would drink herself to death, or failing that, she would find a way to commit suicide-by-guardsman. She would never recover.

Holy wall o' text, Batman! D: Happy 1500 pages! XD

Hoo boy. Crossovers.

Assassin's Creed

Hightown

Fenris: So you're carrying a pitchfork attachment for the crossbow why?

Varric: Because there's been an increase in hay shipments into the city recently.

Fenris: What does that have to do with anything?

Varric: Haven't I told you this story?

Fenris: What story?

Varric: (sighs) So there's this guy, with this big long Antivan-sounding name gets his family killed. Instead of joining up with the Chantry like Choir-Boy he goes off and decides to become an assassin. Long story short, kid strikes it rich, buys up all these fancy buildings and starts some training school for other assassins.

Fenris: I fail to see what this has to do with hay.

Varric: (draws Bianca and loads the pitchfork into the firing chamber) See that hay wagon?

Fenris: Yes.

Varric: Watch. (Fires into the hay bail, a man dressed as a plague doctor yells and tumbles out of the wagon) Take that you sodding assassin! I'll teach you to mess around with Varric Tethras! (the Doctor runs away) See elf, they hide in the hay.

Fenris: I'll assume that we're going to go and torch all of the hay wagons in Kirkwall?

Varric: Nah, playing whack-an-assassin with Bianca is much more fun. Besides the Merchant's Guild will have the whole hay market clogged up with red tape sometime next week. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Meanwhile in Darktown

Anders: So what brings you to Thedas?

Ezio: I seek to form a Brotherhood of Assassins powerful enough to destroy the Templars.

Anders: I think I love you.

Ezio: I should go.

I only picked US because I was mad, I just wanted a happier ending. I didn't want Ali to die and really, 'no thank you Morrigan. We're friends and all and I know what you're trying to do but...no'...because all I could think of was 'HURRY UP AND DIE ELF SO THAT I CAN START MY HUMAN NOBLE AND BE HAPPY T.T'

@Helen - I was pretty mad about getting such an unhappy ending too. I guess I should've
mentioned that that was my main reason for picking US along with my
inability to share with Morrigan and my poor elf's anger and depression
over the whole thing. lol. I had my brother poking fun at me as I ranted about how mad at Alistair I was. He just kept saying, "I TOLD you not to make him king and you didn't listen to me!"

I'm just going to listen to my brother from now on. He's also the one that told me I
should've romanced Fenris in my first DA2 playthrough. I romanced
Anders solely because he was my Awakenings buddy. Then I romanced
Fenris. Now I can't go back. Ever. WHY IS HE ALWAYS SO RIGHT?! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pouty.png[/smilie]

@Tasmen: Oh. My. God. Brood-off, Absolutely brilliant! I can't wait to read the whole thing.

@Dr. Doctor: Hehe, whack-an-assassin. It even made me giggle out loud. Makes me wonder who would win in a ball tossing game, Varric or Fenris.
