Definition of leading:

1. Having a position in the lead; foremost: the leading candidate.
2. Chief; principal
: the leading cause of high inflation. See Synonyms at chief.
3.
Of or performing a lead in a theatrical production: a leading role; a leading lady.
4. Formulated so as to elicit a desired response: a leading question.

 There's other defintions of leading.

Okay. His leadership got a group of innocent mages slaughtered for his ideals while he did nothig to help them.

Not much of a better example.

But he did lead a revolution, the consequences aren't being argued here.  I was merely pointing out that the use of the word "leading" was completely appropriate.

Oh this is the Fenris thread. *ducks out*

Ah it was.

On the subject of Fenris though why does he need to lead an anti mage rebellion? Half of Anders storyline is that he's obsessed.

I like the civil debate that when on the last few pages. It's a nice change from the constant love that is heaped on Fenris. It's always good to evaluate your postion, whether or not it changes. Usually I find that it just cements my position.

I <3 Fenris

This can be paired with his reaction to siding with the mages in the final battle. That it's wrong but he'll stand by you. Fenris's loyalty to Hawke is absolute (if you choose to build the relationship properly that is), whether it controdicts his personal opinions or not (also he's not an activist like Anders, that would draw too much attention to himself, I believe. That and he's not really the leader type.)  Betraying Hawkes friends would be the equivilent of betraying Hawke her/himself.

It does help that Fenris isn't obsessed with anything other than killing those who enslaved him. Once that's done he kind of mellows out. He has no great cause. I like that about him.

+10 Friendship

I don't think I can ever express too loudly or too often how relieved I was when he sided with me out of love (which is how I see it, considering we were in a relationship, though it would be loyalty for anyone else) without needing to be convinced. In my first playthrough Isabela abandoned me, I told Anders to GTFO after he blew up the Chantry, and then Sebastian left me. If Fenris had walked away my poor mage would have been left with Aveline (as the only melee fighter), Varric, and Merrill. Oh yeah, my brother was also a Templar so he wasn't about to come to my rescue.

When he said "It's a mistake...but I won't abandon you." I slid off the couch in gratitude and cried happy tears. I would have died without him. <3

Agreed. That end gets me every time.

I have never not had Fenris at either 100% rivalry or friendship by the end, so it was interesting to see him abandon Hawke during my husband's playthrough (who had not romanced and had him at like 75% friendship).

I was all horrified, thinking I was going to have to watch him kill Fenris. Instead, his Hawke met up with Fenris later and was basically like "I guess dying fighting at your side is too much to ask?" and Fenris was all "Eh, why not?" and changed his mind. That was also  worthy in its own way.

Ok this is maybe cheeky (and does not contribute to the ongoing character discussion I'm afraid) but does anyone here draw and take commissions?  I'm struggling to find people on DevArt who do Dragon Age stuff are open for commissions, but I have this idea in my head for a pic and my drawing is...yikes. :(  It's pretty cutesy, fluffy stuff, I'll warn you, but it does have a number of characters in it.

I'm not able to pay silly money but I wouldn't expect it for free or anything obviously.

If anyone is up for it, or knows someone who might be, please let me know!  (Or tell me to feck off to Community Creations...but it's scary out there.)  Thankee!

I'm not at all a 'great artist' or anything, but could you post what exactly you want? I'd love to try, and someone else might like to as well. Image IPB

I am so envious of people with artistic skill. I have all these pretty images swirling in my head, and the best I can manage is an XKCD-esque rendering of them.

My friend had to do something similar.

My other friend told me that he was going to do a evil bloodmage playthrough and that he was going to turn Fenris over to Danarius. <_<

I told him I didn't want to hear about it and that he was dead to me until his bloodmage playthrough was over with.

Perhaps I am biased.

Wow, if she did, I would be all over that. Love her stuff so much.

She does, but only sketch cards (max. 2 characters) as far as I'm aware - I've already got one from her on the way. :D  But the scene I'm thinking of wouldn't really fit on a sketch card, it's got too many people so they'd all just be dots.  Tealsie and Tankgirly, I shall check your stuff out shortly (possibly tomorrow as it's getting late here) and message you accordingly, many thanks!

Edit: Sorry, misread your post Tealsie, sleepy bear is sleepy. :pinched:  I am picturing Hawke and Fenris having a handfasting, with Hawke's red favour as the cord/ribbon/binding (hope I am not offending any pagans, I don't know if there is a special term for this!)  Varric would be the groomsman dwarf and Aveline (and maybe Bethany) would be bridesmaid(s). (Aveline still in her armour, naturally, can't see her in a dress!).  And the dog would be there too.  Not sure who would be officiating though, since I don't imagine they'd be too welcome in the Chantry after the shenanigans in Kirkwall!  Maybe they could find someone in Fereldan to do it.

It's a bit cheesy I guess but something about the armband just make me think of it.  And I like to think of Fenris looking to have some kind of...normality, I guess, or stability, in his life after all the chaos, like how he seems a bit interested in the Chantry and such.  Not that an elf marrying a human is particularly normal but...oh goodness I'm falling all over my words now.  Time for bed methinks!

Ugh. I did that once.

...I felt unclean.

No matter how much Fenris irritates me (mostly because he's right.) I can't really see doing that canonically. It's too cruel. And it does help that pretty much everyone in a party gives a "WTF?" reaction for doing it.

Except for Anders. Which really makes me feel less for him. It doesn't matter how much you disagree with someone, Fenris never actually raised a hand against Anders, yet Anders approves of throwing him back into slavery?

No.

Anders is smug and overjoyed if you hand Fenris over. Image IPB One of the times I wanted to spin around smack him upside the head.
Merrill probably has the best reaction to that. If I remember correctly, she has a couple wonder begging/pleading lines. Image IPB
