Yes, because that is clearly what I said.

Anders hates templars and blood mages, and yes it would have been interesting if he wouldn't enter relationships with them either. He doesn't have issues with entire classes, rogues or warriors in general. I am saying that it would have  made Fenris' character more interesting if he had a line he wouldn't cross. Given his background it doesn't seem character-breaking for him to, while not wanting to outright kill mages, not want have sex and relationships with them either. And if he would, since he does, there should have been major conflict (a hell of a lot more than he would if Hawke wasn't a mage).

Anders siding with Templars ending

a) That's currently inaccessible in the game.

Anders is a very sick man. This has been argued about enough times on the Anders thread, but I'll condense my argument here: The rivalry path ruins him psychologically. Anders is Ketojan, Hawke is his arvaarad, Anders is agreeing to follow Hawke and side with the templars because he has become convinced that he is dangerous and that he may not even have the capacity to understand when and why he is making poor decisions. After the Chantry, he decides to completely defer to Hawke.

c) What does that have to do with Fenris?

Anders is an extremely broken person as well.

If Fenris had the kind of conflict in a mage romance that Anders has on his rivalry path, that would be very nice. But he doesn't. He just kind of glazes over magery. To get Anders to side with you against the mages, you basically have to abuse him for 6 years and convince him that he and everything he's ever worked for are worthless until he breaks.

I understand why, but still.

To get Anders to side with you against the mages, you basically have to abuse him for 6 years and convince him that he and everything he's ever worked for are worthless until he breaks.

I understand why, but still.

Strange that  no one compare Fenris to Bastie, or Anders to Bastie.

Yeah.  All I can say is, less drama is nice.  Gaider has a deft touch with the romances and it's something I appreciate about his writing, even if it drives fangirls insane a little, such as the fact that the LIs never say "I love you" and if they do it's like they're being tortured (like they're choking on a chicken bone).  We fret, but in the end, I prefer it that way.

But that has nothing to do with Fenris at all. I let Fenris' actions speak for him. If he didn't love me, he wouldn't have sided with me and the mages. <3

I can think of two instances, and you have to hit certain dialogue options or situations, and Alistair sounds like he's being choked by a chicken bone.

Again, I'm not complaining.    The breathy, effusive stuff is not for me.  There's a thin line between meaningful and cheesy with these scenes.

Ah, that makes more sense.  I was just trying to picture a Fenris/Bastila or Anders/Bastila comparison, which had me kind of giggling.  Both rivalmances have a dash of Bastila-ish arguing in them :happy:

Sebastian...  I don't know-- Fenris seems to have better grips on who he is than the eternally conflicted prince.  Same with Anders/Justice.  They at least know more or less what they stand for.

I say that with all the fondness in my heart. He's still nuts at the end of the friendship path, in a way that is different but just as depressing. But this isn't the place for me to ****** about my tragedy porn fetish

I'm not saying that all romances need top levels of diva drama, just that with the way Fenris was written, it's very strange that there isn't more of it given how strongly he feels about mages. If he were Zevran or Isabela I wouldn't be jockeying for more wangst.

All I've been able to figure out is basic text and hyperlinking stuff.  Go to Profile/Forum Settings on the menu underneath your avatar.  Pics, no clue.  I don't think I've ever linked them properly.

On your top right hand corner, there is an 'Forum Setting' Option.

Click in and you can add siggy and img.

Actually the whole rivalry dialogue with Anders suggests he's trying to avert a war. He sounds quite clear headed. Sad and tormented but pretty much sane. He's scared and suicidal (which given his circumstances make sense). 

"Stop this war before its too late." his own words. Sounds like he's thinking for himself to me. Hawke gives him a suggestion and he sees the merit in it. It's sad but the decision is more about restoring order than destroying the circle for kicks and giggles.

That's why I hope the Rivalry path will be fixed in the next patch. Because it's the only way for Anders to realize what he was doing was wrong.
Now, I really hope that you won't have to romance him to get this dialogue (if we skip the whole "i love you anders" part), because my Hawke certainl won't (he's all Fenris's)

He... begs you to kill him. His spirit is completely broken at that point. The screaming, crying, turning over desks, cannot-formulate-a-coherent-sentence psychopathic break is not the only kind of mental breakdown. The entire rivalry path leads up to that point and the subtletyuwehuhgbfdh

Understood.  Different... uh, strokes (I'm going to delete the part about wanking, for bad association- lol).  One thing I appreciated about both Zevran and Fenris was that they had been through hell, and they had major issues, but are still mature,  grounded (to an extent) pixel people.  I'm not sure I could carry out a romance story line with either of them otherwise.  So, your story loss is my gain, I guess.
