Ah I have to romance Fenris again with a mage. A friendmance and then a rivalrymance. It doesn't feel as fun romancing him with my warriors. :/

I love it too-- not as fun on my rogue (refuse to play warriors because I've always had a bad experience playing them). Mainly because I enjoy a friendmance and I find it absolutely hilarious playing an apostate mage that sends other mages to the Circle (until I start going into RP-mode and then I search for all the ways it could possibly make sense).

Warriors are actually pretty awesome. I had feared they would be like DA:O's warriors and just... cumbersome, slow things. But I'm playing a F!Warrior Hawke, in a party with Anders and Varric, and of course Fenris, and SHYTE DIES FAST!!!

I gave myself a faster cooldowns mod (had to bump up the difficulty) so yeah my mage feels much more active and fun.

And to my apostates it makes too much sense. They dislike idiots. <_< 99% of mages they met outside the circle were idiots.

Bolded statement is one of the rational RP moments I have that cause me to send other mages back to the Circle.

Even Doormat Diplomat!Briseis Hawke would probably take the option (if it were ever available-- sadly not) to look at the other mages outside the Circle and go, "******."

I dislike not being able to log into the servers thanks to Sony taking the PSN down because of "External issues".... But I don't care. I can still use my DLC stuff, which makes me happy.

I heard about that this morning-- hacked, wasn't it?

Ah, well... I don't really connect to PSN unless I'm getting DLC or updates. Sort of works out because I've still yet to run my "aesthetics only" characters before I grab the Update.

No idea. All Sony is saying is that "external issues" caused them to shut down the PSN.  Brother laughingly said, "Watch, someone will have figured out how to hack into the system, give themselves "money", then rip off the PSN." Wouldn't be surprised if that was the issue.

Heh. I just use the shop item dupe trick for money... takes a while, works best if you have some expensive piece of equipment or potions, but it can work jsut as well with lyrium pots. I made almost 150G before I stopped in Act 1... I might do it again in Act 2 if I need the gold.

Not to put too much stock in my own influence, but as more or less the primary instigator of at least one of those, I feel like pointing out that wasn't my reason.

I didn't say it was your reason, nor that it was the only reason.

Ah, I put off playing a warrior for the longest time, for similar reasons.

So I finally broke down and started my warrior PT this last week, and I'm just now entering Act 2.  Honestly, I'm loving her.  She's like no Hawke I've played before, most especially since I decided to go with an "aggressive" warrior.  She's blunt, in your face, honest and brash.  She pulled a knife on that harbor master's apprentice guy and he was utterly peeing his pants, he was so afraid; it was awesome.  It helps, too, that she and Fenris just moe down everyone in the way, too.

I will admit, though, I think my canon Hawke is always going to be a mage.  One, cause I miss Carver.  I like that boy.  But, also, because Hawke as a mage just fits the story I have in my head.  It just makes the most sense, for some reason, to me.  And I say that even after reading all the debates these past few days.

Regardless, I'm enjoying my warrior, too.  She's a bit more fun than I thought she would be, lol.

Exactly! I love my in your face F!Warrior Hawke. She's a total bytch, and doesn't apologize for it. I think the only person she's nice to is Fenris...

I managed to complete a new playthrough, and I had everyone maxed out on their friendship bars.

All except for Fenris. He was a maxed out rival. And my Hawke's LI.

Somehow, that feels right.

That sounds like Kaalyss Hawke.

Everyone's her friend! ... Well... except Fenris. Not like they aren't sharing a bed though.

I will say this for DA2-- they managed to make sword and board fun, even if they sucked all the joy out of DW Rogue, which I loved to bits in DA:O.  Mage, I don't know.  It's not really my cup of tea, though it's more fun than DA:O's magery.  It was kind of fun to have my warrior actually go toe-to-toe with the Arishok and survive.

I was actually amazed at how fast I got him maxed out, though.

Like, within thirty minutes of Act 2, I didn't have to worry about being a jerk to Oriana just so I could max Fen out. It was nice, because I like Ori and don't want to treat her as a slave.

I'm not a fan of S&B warriors.. My Hawke's a 2-H wielder, like Fenris.   Yeah, I'm not too thrilled with DW Rogues in this, much prefer the ranged, but hte fletching on the arrows gets in the way of Fenris' touching looks during quests... Mages... OMG, Spirit healers in this game are evil. Built right, all you have to do is plink away at the Arishok, and you'll be fine. Will take a while, but like as not, you won't die.

My current playthrough (as a Mage) all I had to do was his "Visit Fenris" "Questioning Beliefs" and "The Book of Shartan" and I'm maxed out rivalry - considering my last Mage playthrough took untill "Dissent" I'm kinda proud of myself - And I didn't have to use a single Red convo option. I've played 2H with my only ManHawke.  He was sort of fun, and luckily, paired with Fenris, combat went by quickly. (Die, combat, die!  Especially the night maps.)  Still, S&B had a certain something about it. Probably nostalgia-- my first DA:O character was an S&B human noble.  You're not on PC, are you?  I had to download a "no quiver" mod just to get my "Alone" puppy eyes

I guess I'll just ask it here-- what's up with all the My Little Pony stuff? I took a glance in the Merrill and Isabela threads, and ended up WTF-ing out of there so fast my back browser button self-destructed.
