I was just checking the strategy guide, and there's nothing concrete, alas. I've usually had him at 100% either way, and he never deserts me.

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with the DW rogue in DA2?
It's not so much, "what's wrong with DW rogue?" as what they took away from DA:O. My favorite moments in rogue combat in Origins usually involved doing a little Dirty Fighting and then hyper-speed Coup de Grace-fueled, Momentum-enhanced backstabs. Or kicking spiders in the balls. Or darkspawn. Or Loghain. I loved stealthing into rooms, scouting ahead and disarming traps. There's no scouting anymore. I loathe having "Backstab" as a power, rather than as a preferred method of attack. Also, all the DW skills that spread damage across more than one enemy are gone.
When you put it like that...
I probably miss the scouting most of all. I have these great memories of Origins where my PC and Zevran would both sneak up on two magicians on different sides of the room, backstab them and cut them down before they could cast a spell - they would've wiped me out otherwise. In DA2, I can't scout ahead because the party starts following after a certain distance no matter if I have them on Hold or not. Frustrating as hell. >_<

I'm petty. It's the ball-kicking I miss the most
I've never figured out just how you're supposed to eavesdrop on the captains' meeting at the Docks because of the scouting problem you've mentioned. The first time I managed to trigger the quest, I had Isabela stealth, and then all weapons were drawn, even when the rest of my party was up the stairs.

Fenris' Mansion
Merrill: Hello Fenris. (muches on a chocolate halla)
Fenris: How...what are you doing here?
Merrill: Well, its Spring, and there's apparently some sort of holliday in the Free Marches. Or at least that's what Varric said. Anyway, I thought that you're in here all the time. Alone, so I went and made you're home a little more festive.
Fenris: (walks out into his foyer) What did you do? It looks like an Orlesian exploded in here.
Merrill: I know! It's all colorful! Not all dark and dank like it usually is, chocolate? (offers a small bag of candy)
Fenris: No.
Merrill: Alright then. (walks out of the Mansion)
Fenris: (muttering to self) Of all the blood mages in Thedas why to I have to be stuck with the cheerful one?

Not really sure but I figured since no one else answeered I try to.. O and I guess thankfully [ rather silly tho] no one in game notices you area mage until like meredith in the end of act 2.. and NONE notice you are a blood mage ever... Idk what kind of tea they're drinking in Kirkwall, but I want some!

Just walk up the stair (instead of down) and wait, they will start the dialogue and attack when done. If you are doing the night gangs quest it is a good idea to clear up the area first otherwise you will be attacked on both sides.
I do like my rogue, it starts a little slow but I can get ridiculous damage later in the game.

You mean like the bard talents? Yeah, I loved playing dw rogue in Origins but I can't do the crack-hamster stuff. I rolled an archer which was ok. You're basically a mage.lizzbee wrote...

This may have been touched on previously, but how do you think Fenris would react to Hawke being a blood mage? They didn't acknowledge it in-game (sadly) and now I'm really curious as to how it would affect the relationship.
What Should Happen:
Hawke: So, I'm a blood mage now. Working a little blood magic, killing guys, shooting the breeze with demons. If anybody feels faint, or randomly drops dead, that's just me rolling with the old blood magic.
Fenris: Did you not notice what I just did to that blood mage? (Camera zooms out to see a blood mage with a gaping hole in his chest) How could you do such a thing after all of the evil we've seen caused by blood magic?
Hawke: Well, I'm already a force mage, and standing around spamming healing spells is Anders job. So I picked blood mage.
Fenris: Prepare to die you wretched moster!
(Cue epic battle)
What Actually Happens
Hawke: So, I'm a blood mage now.
Fenris: Eh.
Hawke: Aren't you going to yell at me for being no better than the Magisters? Or glow? Angry hate sex? Anything?
Fenris: We should move on.
Hawke: (Facepalm)

That's the "Rally" cry, I think. I've never tried using "Rally" with Hawke, so I have no idea how other characters sound with the same ability.

Do you have to come in from Hightown to do that? I always end up coming in to the docks from the stairs near the Qunari compound. I've noticed certain map exits and entries drop you in weird places.

More like "Dual Weapon Sweep" and that tornado whip-the-blades around thing. I don't think I ever played bard. I usually played assassin/ranger. Oh, and where did ranger go? I loved my blight wolf!

I am sorry, AniChri5, this is just guesswork, but there are 3 possible outcomes: 1)he sides with you right away (telling you that you are making a mistake, but that he won't abandon you), 2)refuses to stand with the mages, but can be presuaded to switch back to your side later, and the last, as you mention 'you die or I die, either way, the story's done.'
My guess is that the first one happens at 100%, 2 above maybe 75% and 3rd below. But this is guesswork, since I've yet to have him below 100 on either scale of friendship/rivalry. Sorry this isn't more helpful. Perhaps someone else here will chime in soon.

Yeah, you need to be at least above 70% to make him change his mind and join you. If your rivalry/friendship is below it he'll stand agains you and you will have to kill him. There's a video on yt with all 3 outcomes, but Im not gonna link it here and spoil the game for you if you didn't get that far yet.

Another thing to add is that most people find he sides with you immediately if you do his act 3 questioning beliefs conversation.

I used Maker's Sigh and restacked his abilities, not including Rally. He still has a growl/yell when he rushes into battle. However, that's the only time he does shout. The rest of his comments are calm for the most part. (except when he needs healing, then he gets a little pissy, lol).
