Good mornin all!

Working on my 3rd pt and gritting my teeth b/c I'm trying miserably to do the Anders romance... man it's hard to resist. In my Act 2 and finished Dissent and fighting to ignore what I really wanted to do. I started laughing hysterically at the questions part of Anders... the way he comes at you and having it all sloppy sounding *ew*. What made it more funny is I have the subtitles on so I can at least read is what was said (between my kids and my hubby yelling at Homefront, I need earphones) and that sloppy kiss comes up as *(pants)*! Then went to my Hawke's mansion thinking it was going to be as short as Fenris's.... how is it Anders gets a bedroom scene and Fenris doesn't? I went from laughing to speechless. My silence was so abrupt that my hubby got up to see if something was wrong.

Needless to say I began to fill his ears with a long WTF which he rolled his eyes at me and laughed. The girls get a scene, Anders gets a scene, Fenris NEEDS a scene. Starting to think the writers didn't believe he was going to be as popular as he is now and didn't bother doing one other than the foyer... I feel cheated

I'm sure I'm not the only one to spout about this...but sheesh! Rant done...sorry... I knew I could vent a little here and you all would understand... thanks

Fenris and Hawke end up in a bedroom.  They just started out in the living room.

The scene was designed to be brief.  It started out hot and heavy, but obviously, things were moving too fast for Fenris, and he walks out on Hawke.  Hawke is SUPPOSED to feel a little "WTF" after the scene is over.  How could this have been extended at all, without it taking away from the feeling you are supposed to take away from the scene anyway?

Fenris doesn't need anything.  He gets a perfectly nice kisses in Act 3 once he gets his act together.  Anders gets no such thing, if that is of any consolation to you.

Fenris probably had more scene/kiss/wall (one can NEVER forget the wall) time than any other LI imho.  There is macking out in act 2 AND 3 (in fact 2 such instances in 3).  Anders doesn't get that.  I have to admit I was actually disappointed by the lack of scenes for Anders and felt a little jipped that I didn't get a kiss at the end of act 3.

So really, I've had the opposite experience.  Fenris got a LOT of love (which I'm yay about).  As much as I would love to see more from him, I think the other LIs should get an extra scene before Fenris.

They probably just wanted there to be some variety.  I'm ok with not showing it personally- gives room for the imagination, whether you want to picture it as tender vs. clothes-ripping or what have you.

Sarah actually didn't do the wall scene. She mentioned that on her deviantart page... I think that was the only one Fenris specific scene that she didn't do.  So really, she's blameless and awesome.  .

I like the wall kisses -- they're a bit different for friendship and rivalry AND you get two versions depending on what quests have been finished.  The facial expresses are amazing as well -- while the kisses don't line up perfectly (I know it), the expresses are so good I don't care much.

But you know, the best part of Anders is in act 2 and the best part of Fenris is in act 3. I believe Fenris is the only one who gets an implied sexytime in act 3 -- there IS a reward for waiting. Seriously, I bet they were designed to play off each other that way. It makes sense after being dumped, if you have someone who is telling you how wonderful you are, to turn to him. But it fizzles out.

Act 3 Fenris is so good, I could never romance Anders again. I think I'm going to try doing a male Hawke to romance Isabela at some point, but I have a sinking feeling it will end up like the time I made a male warden to romance Leliana and Morrigan -- even HE ended up with Zevran.

Edit: I have to admit, with Anders, the whole, "I love you.  I've been aching for you for three years, but I have been scared to tell you..."  "Ooooh, I love you too!"  "Hey, btw sweetheart, I kinda need a place to stay, can I move in with you?"  really made me feel used.  And then when there was nothing in act 3 aside from finally giving him the key except for far more obvoius maniupaltion, I felt cheated.  I had done Fenris' romance to completion first, and in my second playthrough, the Anders rebound one, spent the entire rest of the game regretting that I couldn't kick Anders out and restart with Fenris.

Some of the banters made that far worse, too.  Fenris being super protective of Hawke (even though he's being hypocritical), Fenris and Issy, Merrill pointing out Fenris is in love...  Ugh!

Fenris takes some patience and a little handwaving, but the romance itself is great.

I saw a scene on youtube that was rivalry romance with anders and he kisses Hawke.

(sides with templars also)

didn't know this was even there. (wierd that Anders doesnt kiss you if your friendmance)

The rivalry ending with Anders is bugged right now and not in the game. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Eh. I don't like it that they're fixing it so he can side with Templars. Where does his regret come from? It feels like it goes against everything that's been established of his character in Act III. :/

i did the exact same thing XD i made male character and i was extra fixed in romancing morrigan, but then i saw lelianna and i awwed..in the end i did end up with morrigan but i also couldnt say no to zevran .. <.<

Fenris is a private person and didn't want you peeping in on this tender moment.

Also, why discount the fact that Fenris has two versions of the foyer scene? That's more than the other characters have. Do they have to be on top of each other to qualify or something?

If you read... I clearly said "rant" and "vent." I love the aspect of Fenris and that at least it was so non-stereo typical. That's my draw to him and has been. What I was stating to round it up symplistically was that it took me by surprise with confusion. Add into it and sum up whatever you think I meant. I didn't add what I thought to have a "how dare you" reaction from a couple of ppl here. I'll keep my rants to myself...ty.. I apologize.

EDIT: I'm not trying to start a debate or anything. I appreciate all the different views here and that makes it more enjoyable. We all have different thoughts..as demonstrated in the pages before with Upsettingshorts ... I look forward to the shared idea and finds and statements... it's what makes it fun here

You gave the impression of feeling very strongly that the Fenris romance got the short end of the stick, and I feel very strongly that it didn't. It's a public forum. No need to keep it to yourself but even trolls don't get overlooked. Not to say that you're a troll :B

I like that every romance felt different. They weren't basically the same scene but with different people. It made it worthwhile to actually try to romance the others.

With Anders I definitely felt as if everything happened "right now". And with Fenris it was spread out. Which is something I loved. Kept me from completing the romance in .6 seconds.  

If you put all of Fenris' scenes together (which is something I frequently do, because I have a save right before every one of his conversations and quests and then I'll go back and replay them just for giggles) it seems as if he got the better end of the bargain. You get slightly different romance scenes, you get the moment during Alone, you get the conversation and kiss after Alone. You get Anders' judgemental comments during Justice, and Fenris' reply (which I always count because I love controversy) and then let's not forget what happens in the Gallows.

So when I first played through it I was a little miffed, but then after the game was over I realized just how much there truly was.

Quick phonepost (*scowl*) - yes, I like the more paced feeling of the romances in general, and I think the Fenmance makes great use of it. The other romance for which I have this feeling is Merill, even if the hubby rushed it a bit after I warned him about my Anders romance attempt disaster.

i agree completly, i think they did a good thing in this sequel that they didnt show any of the actual sex , t looks much more tastefull this way, and also it gives space to your own imagination. that way everyone is happy

Ahh Im gonna agree with Ladyvixxen.... It doesnt really matter to me that Fenris has most LI moments, cuz I adore the character I would have loved even more! I totally cannot stand the anders love .. It felt so badly of a junkie snatching at a fix and the lines OMG cheesy [ at least imo, sorry if I offend, sometimes I am to opininated...] like reading a harlequin romance.. EWWWW corny.
As for Isabela [ sorry folks] I totally cant romance her, since she has no honor or faithfulness, at least Zev says, I am many things but I am not a cheat. ISa is liek that old line to me [ fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!] She backstabs and I haev heard peeps that have romanced her she still ran off with zev, Sorry but if you are promiscuious , it doesnt mean that you are a strong free woman of the ages.... I dont even mind she does anything with or without legs, But I do mind the disloyalty. Cant stand it .
I cant imagine her " love" scenes being sweet, and I will never believe some twisted puke could ever embrace love and become unselfish with it. SHes a me first person,.. I cant love that.. Hawke can use her for fun, but no way she be the one to take home to mum.
HEHE I apologize if I upset peeps abotu her rant as its off topic anyways, But I thin Fenris romance the best, I haev done Merrills. its okay but i foudn it a bit hollow for quite a while, even tho they said the right words.. it didnt really click in the game for me... IDK mb its just me! IM a cynic too!
