To me it was affection.  I didn't sit back and say "actually, this is just a manifestation of a cultural trait whereby..."  I wasn't used to it, so it impressed me enough that I remember it eons later.  Fenris was a slave, and maybe in Tevinter people shake hands.  No reason why Fenris' phrase has to mean an orgy on the beach rather than kisses and dumplings.

So you can make presumptions about Fenris and the Tevinter culture, and however I'm the nerdy and presumptuous one?

And did I ever say that there was an orgy on the beach?  Openness does not always = Orgy.  Who is being presumptuous?

you know I have never completed a game with Isabela yet, I kinda stalled out on the bff one at the last battle part, So mb I am not being completely fair to her character , as I seldom ever took her with me. I found fenris' character caught my interest where i Did not find hers to , however I didnt like Morrigan til my third PT either, so mb I need to just " experience" it instead of being totally biased againt her... like we say to those Fen bashers.. but OOO its gonna be hard to do so... I admit I have flaws! LOL

There's plenty for people to cringe at in a lot of the romances.  It depends what makes people cringe.  With Fenris for example it made me cringe that his "theme music" (labeled in a file as "fenris_emo_mus" just to hammer the point home) that played constantly whether the scene was appropriate or not, and his "and they put it there" rant.  Just to name two examples.

Don't get me going on the emo music, or the orchestral "shattering" noise when Fenris throws the bottle of wine at the wall

Which, as I said, doesn't particuarly matter to me one way or the other.  What mattered to me, playing the romance, was that the words hit my ear and made me cringe, cringe, cringe.  With a female Hawke.  With a male Hawke, I was rolling on the floor.  Bodice-ripping passion works best without the bodices.

You did come off as sounding pretty authoritative.  So we agree, it can be interpreted a number of ways.  That's good.

Seriously, you can cease and desist with the flames, sweet cheeks.  However I kicked your internet puppy, it wasn't intentional and the mantra is getting really old.  Like, last month's gym shorts caught behind the hamper old.

I'd say there's a difference between flaming and being on the remarkably short list of posters who no longer get the benefit of the doubt.  

But I suppose that's just one interpretation.

It was fun when I finally got her approval high enough that she came back.  Definitely a big cinematic moment, her crashing in and then fighting the duel for her.  Which, since I was playing an assassin/ duelist rogue, I could actually do.

The only bummer was missing Fenris' little exchange with the Arishok about Hawke being only mostly female.

OOO its awesomesauce! No wonder she does him so well, she was amazing in his expressions in game,... altho the beginning wall scene always showed his legs [ I guessed he must be floating like 4' from the floor] adn LadyHawke grabbed his calf not his arm.. but then i read above she d idnt do that scene and it makes perfect sense! She;s amazing!

My one piece of advice -- for morning sickness, GINGER!  OMG, I had the worst morning (all day) sickness throughout my pregnancies, but pickled ginger would give me relief for 15-20 minutes at the time.  Amazing stuff.

Isabela is one of my favorite characters in the game and for me she beats the characters in DAO too since I didn't find any of them really that interesting.. Different strokes for different folks. I love that she's in the gray zone - in the way I would like almost all characters to be. Her morals kind of remind me of characters like Durzo Blint and Felix Castor. Something that made me very happy.

Idk know the characters you referenced, but I dont want to bash her more, since folks have taken some offense to it .
If the names you listed castor/blinx are historical I fail there too lol I dont know them!
