hehe I have to admit I have never been a fan of bacon and eggs til i heard that song !! Im converted....
I am totally giggling over the romance thing with Anders. Its kinda cool to see folks feel similar about it. I pitied him atrociously which is never the foundation for any long term feelings.. and the memory of his funny self in DAA was what kept me from dumping him wayside at the start. The VA was good, I just didnt like the way the character was written or his cheesy lines! THANKS so much Doc for the giggles and I LUV the art.. I have totally read all of FFic , and meg and LJ and smoldering which i think is part of fanfic website? anyoen have new updates I might have missed?
totally bored today and I hate to admit it im burned out of Da2 even.. I totally wish we could load our save games from xbox to pc for the small changes it might make in Da2 story line.
Peace all!

egads top of page,  well  have a Fen  smile.. to go with  bacon and  eggs LOL

@Rei: Cool pics! Yeah the after fighting hand hold seems kinda rare but It does happen sometimes.

This kinda surprised me after taking out a gang in Lowtown.

This was my first play, I haven't been able to do it since. :(

Funny, I get them doing that all the time.  It'll look like they're holding hands, with Fenris just...looking at her...totally sweet.

Just de-lurking for a moment.

For whatever reason, I attempted to equip Fenris with a shield. The game immediately bombed.

I like the wall kisses -- they're a bit different for friendship and rivalry AND you get two versions depending on what quests have been finished.  The facial expresses are amazing as well -- while the kisses don't line up perfectly (I know it), the expresses are so good I don't care much.

But you know, the best part of Anders is in act 2 and the best part of Fenris is in act 3. I believe Fenris is the only one who gets an implied sexytime in act 3 -- there IS a reward for waiting. Seriously, I bet they were designed to play off each other that way. It makes sense after being dumped, if you have someone who is telling you how wonderful you are, to turn to him. But it fizzles out.

Act 3 Fenris is so good, I could never romance Anders again. I think I'm going to try doing a male Hawke to romance Isabela at some point, but I have a sinking feeling it will end up like the time I made a male warden to romance Leliana and Morrigan -- even HE ended up with Zevran.

Edit: I have to admit, with Anders, the whole, "I love you.  I've been aching for you for three years, but I have been scared to tell you..."  "Ooooh, I love you too!"  "Hey, btw sweetheart, I kinda need a place to stay, can I move in with you?"  really made me feel used.  And then when there was nothing in act 3 aside from finally giving him the key except for far more obvoius maniupaltion, I felt cheated.  I had done Fenris' romance to completion first, and in my second playthrough, the Anders rebound one, spent the entire rest of the game regretting that I couldn't kick Anders out and restart with Fenris.

Some of the banters made that far worse, too.  Fenris being super protective of Hawke (even though he's being hypocritical), Fenris and Issy, Merrill pointing out Fenris is in love...  Ugh!

Fenris takes some patience and a little handwaving, but the romance itself is great.

There's implied sex with Anders in act 3 as well. Just to clear it up.

Hehe Oldblueeyes,
I have only really seen one neat time when Hawke and Fenris looked awesome and I thought I will take a screen shot, bumped the mouse and the moment was gone, I tried moving them allover the place to recreate it but it never happened again:( I fail miserably at screenies lol

@Phyreblade74: Well my first play was a rogue and now I'm going through 2 Mage playthroughs so unfortunatly they're sometimes at a distance. :-(

@Shacary: pause is always my BFF at those times. ^_^

Booo. ;___; Well, thanks for the clarification, everybody. I appreciate it - perhaps I'll try going back to the beginning of Act 2 and seeing if I can salvage something. And not flirt with anybody else, haha. I guess Fenris just doesn't like me... This is the second playthrough where I've been unable to romance him. :P

Which scene do you want? Glowy kiss only happens when you don't sleep/flirt with anyone else prior to Fenris. Since I rival him most of the time, I flirt on purpose with other characters to get the second version of his kiss. I don't care for his expression (he won't look at you) for the glowing kiss rival version, and much prefer when he leaves after Bitter Pill, then comes back when Hawke comes home at night.

Are you visiting your house at night? That's when all the companions "drop by" for some romance time if you've flirted with them.

Oh, and I've slept with Isabela and still got Fenris to pounce on me at the mansion. Fun times.

Not true. Which type of kiss you get depends on wether or not you try to stop him from leaving when he comes to appologize. If you choose "you don't have to leave Fenris" (heart option) you get the glowy kiss. If you choose any other option he will leave and the second version triggers, where he will come back next time you visit your mantion at night. It works the same way for both friend and rivalmance. The only difference is facial expressions and his comment "after sexytime"

I think whether or not you've done the Act 2 Questioning Beliefs might also play a role in what you get. I'm getting the impression that Questioning Beliefs only triggers once the friendship/rivalry is high enough (I think??), so if you complete A Bitter Pill but haven't done Questioning Beliefs yet, he'll leave if you pick the heart during that conversation. Then when you do Questioning Beliefs afterwards and go to Hawke's house at night he should show up to trigger the 2nd version. On the other hand if you did Questioning Beliefs first and then A Bitter Pill, picking the heart option should get you the glowy kiss. At least that's how it's worked for me.
Sorry if I explained that badly. I = sleepy. -_-

BTW , Speaking of A Bitter Pill... AIMO HAS NEW ART UP!! I always fail at linking deviantart, so someone else will have to! It's greeeeat. :o

I've chosen the flirt option of "don't go" and he still leaves. This is also after his questioning beliefs quest. I made CERTAIN I did everything I was supposed to. And yes, he was almost 100% rivalry or friend.

He still left. Heart option and all. Then he came back later and initiated the kiss. He says something like, "I think it's best for both of us if I go" or something like that when I chose the heart option at the end of that scene.

This has happened to me multiple times, and the first time I thought I did something wrong when he walked out anyway. Come to find out, I messed with Anders a little bit and Isabela first before I triggered Bitter Pill. It seems to make a difference in my games. Who knows.

Maybe it's different for the consoles, but the ONLY time he responded (friendmace) with the glow scene was when I didn't sleep with anyone prior to the end of Bitter Pill.

I guess maybe I should've added in my last post that I made sure not to flirt with anybody else in Act 2. I think I flirted with Anders and Isabella maybe once in Act 1, just for giggles. It's weird, I've never had any problems trying to romance Fenris, but it seems like a lot of people are.

*sigh* :?

I've noticed if I haven't finished his Questioning Beliefs, I don't get the <3 option at all ("Don't go," friend or "Is that it" rival) at the end of Bitter Pill, but after I finish Questioning Beliefs, he'll be waiting at the house if Bitter Pill was done prior.

I think if you get the <3 option at the end of that conversation but he leaves instead of stays, there's no romance.  He is turning Hawke down completely.

Glowy kiss happens only if it can be (and is) triggered at the end of Bitter Pill.

I hear ya!  I play rogue almost every time.  My warrior had a couple sweet "Im looking at you" moments, yes, but not as many as my rogue does.  Just goes to show you rogues are sneaky enough to catch Fenris at his sweetest, hehe.

Not for me. He left, but  the next time I visited my house at night, he glomped me. I even did it on purpose the second time after viewing the glow kiss on youtube. I decided to mess with Isabela before so I could get the second version of his kiss. To me, it seems more romantic/passionate than his "looking to the side" animation for the rival glow kiss.

His belief quests were all finished, and this third time around I left his personal quest for my last companion quest. Slept with Izzy, kissed Anders and flirted with Merrill. Had Fenris at 100% rivalry. Still got his flirt option at the end of Bitter Pill, and he still left. Then he came back later that night, and the fun began.

After that I had to tell Anders to take a hike. I can never stop my Hawke from coming on to him...I'm too nice. Or a tease. Not sure which.

But did you select that last <3 and did he turn you down?  If so, my theory is wrong.  if you did not, then that doesn't contradict what I was trying to say.  I already know that if you select something else, he'll leave but he'll come back.  I didn't word it well.  I meant that if you pick that last flirt and instead of glowy kiss you get him saying it's best he goes, that that's that (hah, redundancy at its finest).

Yes. Did all other belief quests first. Had him full rivalry. Then Bitter Pill resolution at Hawke's estate. Heart option. He walks out anyway. Then later when Hawke comes home (night) and Fenris is back.  Here is what he does:

And romance is on. So yes, even if you choose the last heart option and he leaves, it doesn't mean he won't come back. But then again, I didn't sleep with Anders. Or Merrill first. The only person I'd slept with was Izzy since she doesn't seem to cancel out Fenris's romance.

Weird that he walked out anyway after picking that heart yet came back later.  I've seen both kisses and such (I actually also have a clip of that scene up with the same aggressive Hawke response).  I don't know what would make him turn Hawke down the first time.  Obviously my original theory on that was wrong :)  Did you break up wtih someone between the two scenes?  I wonder if it had to do with you messing with Isabela.
